What a little gem, hidden in a small hotel. A friend told me about it, and I’m so thankful. The food is very fresh and well made. Everything tasted wonderful. The service was excellant - our waiter was great at making suggestions when we asked without trying to up sell or pressure you. Will definitely go back before we return home.

What a wonderful hidden gem with affordable, high quality fish. Service was friendly and very fast and this is a great place for no frills sushi and Japanese food. I hope I have a chance to return one more time before the end of my trip!

One of the best Japanese restaurants we’ve ever been to! It’s very authentic, tucked away in the back of an older hotel, but nonetheless every table was booked. I can see why. The pork gyoza was the best ever, sashimi was absolutely fresh, the rolls weee delicious. Amazing rice. We’ll definitely go back.

Incredible authentic Japanese dining with a little bit of fusion for excitement. Freshest fish I’ve had since I can remember. The sushi preparation is simple and traditional, but executed to perfection, with great care for presentation. The other dishes we had were also just perfect, too. The staff is incredibly attentive, and focused on your experience. And the courtyard location is quaint and quiet.

This is a hidden gym. Tucked away in a hotel area. The food is excellent. They have fresh sushi as well as traditional Japanese food. There is a good variety for everyone. The service was top notch as well. No complaints. We will going back the next time we are in town.

Phenomenal sushi joint in Honolulu. Off a slightly quieter street and in a serene older hotel setting, this spot serves great sushi and some fun appetizers. Do yourself a favor and get the Papaya Motoyaki boat, or you’re seriously missing out. Fun sake flights and very fresh sushi, all provided with great service. The clientele are a great mix of Japanese and American tourists with some regulars mixed in.

A great alternative to the large restaurants at Waikiki. Greeted at the door as if we were old friends. Our waiter, Yun, was personable, and almost entertaining as he described all the options. Largely a sushi spot, we only had shrimp and vegetable tempura, and Wasabi Special #1 consisting of two balls of a mixture of crab, whitefish, and avocado. Delicious. Other diners were seen with many types of sushi and sashimi, all artfully plated. This out of the way place is typical in Japan, small, professional, and a real sense of service.

A very nice Japanese restaurant of an oasis off BeachWalk in Waikiki. Intimate, casual but refined feeling in this gem. Service is helpful and attentive. Menu is reasonably broad. Tempura and other appetizers were great. Fish quality and preparation top end from the Japanese sushi chefs. We love going to Aki in Kaimuki but Wasabi might become our new fav. Dining out is generally expensive in Honolulu but the quality and atmosphere of this authentic Japanese restaurant taking account of the cost here is a relative value.
