Love, love, love this restaurant. Amazing staff, inviting atmosphere , yummy well cooked food. Everything was memorable. If you go to Palm Springs make sure you visit this restaurant.
This is our favourite restaurant and we love going there , however on that particular evening we felt like we were being rushed a bit. Otherwise everything was perfect, it was just a little different for some reason.
My 61st Birthday spent with my Love, Ms. Stephanie Perom of Santa Monica. We enjoyed the evening from the moment we sat down.
We split some mushroom soup, split an iceberg salad then had Sea Bass / Filet and then shared a chocolate soufflé with the special trio of deserts they made for my birthday.
I can happily say it was worth every penny!
Be back soon,
It was a special celebration, my son's 40th birthday and everything was perfect. The service, the food, and of course, the ambiance. The manager, Mike, went out of his way to make certain our experience was wonderful....and it was!
First time visiting the desert and stumbled upon this classic gem. Service and ambience were old school cool. Food was top tier, waiters were courteous, friendly, and knowledgable, and the hostess remembered my name and made a point to address me personally when she noticed I was looking for the ladies room. Highly recommend and will be going back.
The place to go !! Everything you want for a perfect dinner , can't say enough
My mother-in-laws liver was tough. The manager came over immediately to change her order. But at an upscaled resturaunt like Wally's that would not happen.
Fabulous as always. Service attentive but not intrusive.
Nice place. Good food with relatively large portions. Not inexpensive. Great service.
Great Dover Sole and awesome lamb rack.
Fine wine list and professional service.
This restaurant is a "see and be seen" venue. Decor is very old and traditional. Almost no windows - just a lot of mirrors. These lunches on Fridays bringin many ladies and the only men were the waiters! Food was good but I've had better in the area.
Excellent luncheon/fashion show. Kitchen was very slow with our food.
When we want a very special night out, Walleys is our choice. This time we were taking our daughter from Colorado Springs who was visiting us for a week. The serving staff could not have been nicer. They were polite and very helpful. As usual the food was exceptionally good. And of course the soufflés for dessert topped off the evening. We were Greeted by the owner who took time to exchange personal stories. The background music is at a perfect level to be comfortable and yet not inaudible. The interior decorating of the restaurant completes the over all picture of fine dining. Obviously, we will be back again.
It's a visually busy restaurant and a bit noisy but the posh ambience and superb food makes up for it. The one disappointment was that one of our party was having a major birthday (which Wally's knew about online and was reminded when we arrived) and there was not a dessert with candle in sight anywhere. All we got was a casual "Happy birthday" as we left. Couldn't a restaurant of this caliber afford a little piece of cake? We won't be celebrating there again.
Best restaurant we ate at in our 7 days in Palm Springs! Food was exquisite, service was phenomenal, food came out fast. Will eat there again ASAP!
There was a table topper on our table and my poor mother and the rest of us kept spilling our drinks. They were sliding off. Invest in some new tables! I think it is worth it!
This is a lovely indoor dining restaurant. The ambiance is wonderful--spotless mirrors, glass partitions, chandeliers and wine glasses. Tables are large and spaced nicely. Our appetizers (escargot and tuna tartar) and entrees (pork three ways and salmon) were outstanding. This is truly a first class conservative restaurant!
The food was outstanding, the most succulent duck I've ever eaten, prepared perfectly and served beautifully. Of course the chocolate souffle was the highlight of my meal. We were a party of 5 and all loved the food and ambiance.
One of the finest, if not the finest, restaurants in the Valley. The restaurant is spotless, fancy, and the service and attention to detail can't be beat. I had the salmon for dinner, and the chef prepared it exactly how I requested. The soufflés are delicious, so we ordered three of them. Don't miss out: try the cherry one. We can't wait until our next special occasion to celebrate at Wally's Desert Turtle.
Overall the evening was outstanding.. The one blemish was that my wife’s filet mignon was overcooked.
We enjoyed having dinner at Wally’s. One of the owners and the manager visited with us so it was nice. The down fall for me of the evening was that I felt rushed through the evening. We arrived at 6:15 pm and had our check by 7:15. This was a special occasion(wife’s birthday) and it felt like we were not able to enjoy the moment
I had a reservation, but I was alone and the hostess/greeter sat me in an unoccupied room off the main dining room. It was nice enough and the waiter was outstanding. But you’d think relatively upscale restaurants would be accustomed to single female diners and wouldn’t punish us so.
The food was good — not fabulous. I had the burrata as a first course. It was just ok. One of the heirloom tomatoes was mushy which was kind of a downer. I also had the Dover sole, which was excellent. And I had the soufflé for dessert. Again, good but not fabulous.
As I said, the service was the best part. For some reason they did not give me a wine list when I said I was considering wine with dinner. On the other hand the wine I received was perfect so maybe I was not the best one to choose?
Wally's is one of the desert's finest! Sociable, good food and atmosphere, pleasing live music.
Best of the Best. No need to say more than this - best of the best period
Wally's is always a great place to go. The Ambiance is Wonderful and the food Fabulous. Has always been a great place to eat. Service is outstanding and they are always there to fill your water glass or more wine. We have been going to Wally's for years and it is never a let down. So glad to have it close by
We are visiting the area and happened upon Wally's. It was a wonderful dinner. Service was excellent. Would definitely recommend three way pork dish. We will come again when we are in the area again.
I saw that your staff work very well with each other. It was a pleasure to see.
Even though one of the members didn’t enjoy there dinner your staff addressed the issue and agreed that it was not cooked properly and took it off the bill.
Wally's is still a place where guests can rely on professional service from a knowledgeable staff who pride themselves in doing great work. Simply stated, it's a classic.
Wally's is a throwback to a lovely restaurant with lots of charm and atmosphere. It is nice to see most of the patrons dressed up. We like and appreciate the formality of days gone by.
The service was off, however, this last visit. It seems that two different waiters were assigned to our table and we were ignored by both of them for the most part and then both would show up asking for our orders within a few minutes of one another. This included both our drink orders and food orders.
I ordered from the Prix Fixe menu and had the Jidori chicken. Sorry to say that it was dry and tough and oversalted. I would have sent it back had anyone come to the table to ask how things were. But, no one showed up until it was time to clear the table. The salad, side vegetables and dessert were great, however. My husband had the Dover Sole which was excellent, as usual.
We'll go back and hope that things are better.
Different servers. No one seemed to know what was going on. Mixed up entrees. No steak knives offered. New York steak was a tough cut. Super chewy. Caesar salad was bland. Birthday was never acknowledged the birthday we were celebrating. We were a party of four. Both couples recently bought homes in the area & wanted to try Wally’s. Won’t be returning. The best part of the experience was the musician & the sommelier. They were great..
Very lovley restaurant. The only reason I gave them four stars is because the menu online is completely different from the one you receive at the table. I had my heart set on braised short ribs from the on line menu and they were no where to be found on the actual menu. There was really nothing that I liked on the restaurant menu. Almost everything had mushrooms in or on it. YUCK! I ended up getting gnocchi, but who wants to go to a nice restaurant and eat gnocchi. Everyone else in my party loved their meals ( I am picky). Wine list was very nice and reasonably priced. The service we received deserves 10 stars. The waitstaff team was wonderful!
Very classic Palm Springs Joint. Old school white jacket service with fantastic food. The Dover Sole and the Souffles are the best!
Fabulous, in every way! Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere!
Fabulous food, atmosphere & workers! Cool lights. Kind of fancy. But my duck was not medium rare & pretty cold. Steak was great, though, as was Caesar salad & liver was fantastic!
As usual, the food and service was outstanding, its why we continue to return.
Great Dinner! Great service! Can’t wait to come back next time we are in town:-)
I found that the menu choices were not to my liking and I had trouble finding something that I liked. Some of the food combinations were strange and I had to ask for clarification, and the waiter was a bit dismissive. I thought for the money, it was over rated and there are many other fine dining locations in the desert that have better offerings. The service was fair and the restaurant was nearly empty. The wait staff did not care to engage with any explanations of the menu choices. I did have the Chilean Sea Bass which was good, but I have had thicker and better for the cost. Presentation of the entree' was quite nice. My husband had the onion soup which was very good, and had a filet. He asked for medium rare and it looked quite well from my perspective, no juices flowing when he cut into it . It was topped with a breaded patty of horseradish , again which was very strange. He is not a complainer, so he just ate, it as we were celebrating his birthday. They did bring him a Happy Birthday dessert which was nice, but very petite in portion. This was my second time to Wally's. A friend had treated me for my birthday, 2 weeks before. If we had not had a gift card from my son, I would not have returned. Wally's has lovely ambiance, but I found it to be a bit on the snooty side. After our meal, my husband concurred that he would have had a better meal at Arnold Palmers.
Once again, we had a terrific meal at Wally's Desert Turtle! My husband's filet was perfection as was my duck! The Cesar salad was amazing and the Grand Marnier Souffle was incredible. The service was over-the-top and we love our server JB! Can't wait for our next visit!
What a gem!! It was our first time here and definitely won’t be our last. Immediately when we walked in the restaurant ambience took us back in time totally old school feeling. Had a great fun bar with musician playing light saxophone. The service and food were spectacular. I had the Dover sole which it their specialty where my husband had the veal chop which melted away and was cooked to perfection. Then there dessert....oh my the choice of souffles was bar none. We ordered Banana Foster and Cherry Jubilee souffles and we’re so delicious.
We cannot wait to come back
