   Small place but the ambience was very chilled, with low level music in the background. I ventured here with my partner, new born and 2 friends. Despite being small, they gave us a table that had plenty of space for the pram to go in! Word of warning... they do not have a baby changing facility but what they do do is allow you to use their staff office to change the baby! Five stars for going above and beyond for your customers. Food was great, not quite sure it was outstanding but it was very good! Our group shared the starters - oysters, mussles, cod fritters and scotch egg. All was great, easy food to start with. If I had to pick one, I would go for the scotch egg. I had their battered fish with truffle chips and mushy peas for my main! The fish was juicy and the batter was light - superb! For dessert, I had the peanut butter, popcorn, chocolate cheesecake. It was more like a chocolate ice cream sunday, topped with peanut butter cream cheese and a sprinkle if popcorn and crushed wafers. I have a super sweet tooth but found that the peanut butter was far too rich! My friend had the pannacotta which was probably just right considering how much we ate.

   Very nice relaxed and uncomplicated meal. We went pre-theatre, so the restaurant was pretty empty, and therefore quiet, which was really nice. Food was very good, imaginative combinations, well cooked and well presented. Wine list sensibly not huge, and well chosen. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal

   Really lovely restaurant, great food selection, amazing service and food. Would go again.

   Nice fish and chips, but probably not quite as amazing as I was expecting given it was their speciality. But it was certainly very nice and the restaurant is very cool.

   We have eaten here on many occasions since this restaurant opened and although the name has changed the quality of the food and service remains very high. We always enjoy our visits although the cost of eating out limits the frequency of our visits. Always a real treat for us.

   Overall very average experience. For the price the food was very standard and nothing to shout home about. Ambience was a bit flat but it was a Tuesday evening so guessing not the busiest of nights. However the Staff were very attentive and friendly.

   this was my second time visiting Vintage Salt and it didn't disappoint. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the food is delicious!

   Nice , warm and Cosy spot to catch up with friends. Food is your typical British cuisine with a homemade twist. Service were very prompt and efficient. Will come back again.

    Had booked a table at Vintage Salt through Open Table and the evening started with the restaurant not having our booking (please note OpenTable!). After some confusion we were shown a table at the back of the restaurant. There we sat for 15 minutes and waited…and waited… A very odd, unsmiling waiter (or at least I think he was) ignored our requests for water, wine list - everything. Not a great start. After 15 minutes a very nice waitress came over and answered our plea. We thought we should order everything then in case she disappeared in to thin air. Our food did arrive promptly - I had a lovely scotch egg but the fish pie that followed was very dry. The winter greens that I had ordered as a side were covered in burnt slices of garlic - bitter, burnt garlicky greens are not a great taste! Overall - okay, but Vintage Salt you are on Upper Street and frankly next time I will go to any one of my favourite haunts there - Comedor Grill, Le Mercury, Fig and Olive…. - just to name three! You must try harder if you are going to compete with the grown-ups...
