Ottawa's first and most favorite wine bar is found tucked beneath The Fish Market Restaurant is located in the historical Byward Market. We are the proud recipient of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence every year since 1989 for having one of the most outstanding wine lists in the world. Featuring 150 wines, 80 by the glass, 150 imported beers with 20 Belgian Beers, 30 single malt scotches, 30 wine flights and craft beer flights daily. This quaint candle lit cellar features a traditional bistro menu featuring $17 French Fries (with a side order of sirloin steak and Caesar salad) Seafood, fresh fish, shrimp, pastas, artisanal cheeses, charcuterie and mussels.

We can offer the 90 seat restaurant exclusive for lunch or dinner, depending on the time of year, availability and the type of menu requirements. Vineyards is a collective of three dining areas that are open and adjoined to the main bar, each section can be reserved for seating up to 26 guests upon request. Whether it's a birthday, retirement, anniversary, business gathering, wedding rehearsal dinner or bachelor party it is our pleasure to develop custom wine or beer flights, hors d'oeuvres or dinner menus.

Amazing food and great flights of wine! There are so many wines to choose from and everything was fantastic. We will be back next time we visit Ottawa.

The wine flying is a set of 3 different glasses with different tastes. For someone who like the sweet taste, I would recommend the German white wine, very nice! But each glass has a little bit wine inside, so totally the whole flying set is similar to a full glass of wine. The cheese board has contains a crispy cheese topped with mango Chinese sausage, very delicious, and 2 types of salamis (3-5 slides for each), 2 pieces of pickles, few slides of hams and it cost $36. If you come on Monday, $20 Mussels all you can it. The waitress was friendly, bar has classic ambiance. However, Jazz music is only performed on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday by single guitarist, not a band. The bar is quite small, there isn’t a place for a band to play a great jazz.

Great experience on this first time visit! Our reason for going was the live Jazz, which was great, but we were also very impressed with the food and service! We were seated immediately with our OpenTable reso and our server was welcoming and informative. The food we ordered was excellent. We also were very happy with the wine flights we ordered and had an additional litre of our favourite from the tasting! Would highly recommend this restaurant!!!

The experience was good but we had a rough start when we arrived at the restaurant. We were reserved a table that was close to the entrance door that is so tight and is not the most cozy area in this small place. Given the fact that we reserved a day ahead and when we asked for a better table, we were told that there were lots of ppl that reserved and it would be an hour of wait to get a better table. Seeing that we were not pleased by their choice of table and additional wait time, the guy at the bar offered to sit us in the bar and wait until a table is available. We were then given a booth after one couple left. While we were dining, we noticed after an hour, there were plenty of available booths for guests and thought to ourselves, "where are those guests that this guy told us are coming?" Obviously, they pick a guest that they can put in their "not the most attractive" table (and see if they would take it) so it's easier for them to sit other potential guests quicker with the nicer tables/booths. It's like selling goods that are close to expiring first and sell the rest later. But by doing this, they are discriminating guests. Is it because of our ethnicities or the way we look? What also draw us to this restaurant is their long list of wines/beers from their website but when we were ordering our choice of beer, they said that they don't have it and the guy even challenged us to show him that it is in their website and he apologized when we showed it to him. He said that their website is not updated yet. So it is false marketing. Imagine if we had gone all the way to Ottawa from a 2-hour drive somewhere just to taste that beer that is no way near their bar. But because we had a lovely time the rest of the evening, we will still come back with hopes that we won't be treated the same way this first time we were there.

Andre was great! What a beautiful place with amazing food! The drink (wine, cocktails and beer) selection was also one of the largest we have ever seen. The charcuterie board was beyond delicious! I would highly recommend that anyone make a reservation and go visit this beautiful little spot.
