   The vibe was strange. We were greeted by the owner that seemed confused. Once we established reservations, we waited for a table. Another group came in after with reservations l and hour after ours, but they were seated before us. Once we were called to be seated, we followed the owner and he stopped midway, taking an order for another table. We assumed we were sitting next to that table, so we started to sit and he yelled "No! Over there", pointing to a table farther back. When we asked our server for recommendations, we were told they were too busy and we will have to wait, but did tell us the specials. Another person asked us what we wanted to drink. We waited some time to order before another person came by and said the owner was supposed to do it, but realized we were waiting. We also discovered a lot more about the team dynamics after hearing how the wait staff was treated from one of the employees. Based on this, I decided I will not come back. The atmosphere was tense. The owner came by and took a napkin off our table and forced it into the lap of another person in our group, then walked away. People working there looked agitated, tense, uncomfortable, during forceful interaction with the owner. After we ordered, the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The food was delicious and sort of softened the blow of the experience. Once we received the check and paid, we signed the check and the owner's wife demanded the pen back, "give me my pen", like we were going to steal it. Overall, food good, but the experience was not enjoyable.

   Not my favorite, the food was okay but I was afraid to ask for sauce with the calamari and shrimp appetizer and it was served with no sauce. I didn't know who to order from, as the owner took the food order, I think to be sure patrons didn't try to make changes or substitutions and he was different than the person that greeted us and told us the special. Nice people, but intimidating and okay food, but it didn't knock it out of the park, the amount of money we spent, the meal should have blown our minds. Too many service people checking on you too many times during the meal, because of the odd service they provide. The best thing I ate all night was the bread out of the oven and we had the tiramisu.

   small resttaurant but excellent food and service. Very friendly staff. Don't rush you out the door. It was a little hard to find . Parking was okay but if you have a need to be close to the restauarant (mobility issues) you have to tae your chance. This is a neighborhood restauraant that belies its small restaurant--enjoyed it very much and food was ample servings and very good.

   Our first time, the food was outstanding, they receive 10 STARS from me for serving their pasta fresh and piping hot!! The staff was extremely lovely and exceptionally helpful along with being knowledgeable on the wine selections. Vincenzo came to greet us, a very charming conversation.     Delicious, authentic Italian food! Finally the real thing here in Idaho! I know there is another one I’ve tried here that was good, but this is a cut above. This is our top favorite every single dish and I tried for samplings or extraordinary.

    Absolutely wonderful Italian restaurant…be ready to listen intently to Vincenzo’s specials of the day when he comes by your table…his beautiful accent can be a little difficult to understand…of course it could have been that we were seated directly below a ceiling speaker loudly playing the wonderful voice of Andre Bocelli. Perfect meal-perfect portions-the dessert was fantastic. Buonissimo!!

    First time to Vincenzo, but we were warned ahead of time. Number 1, make a reservation! Do not show up without one because you may not get a seat. At the least, you will be made aware that a reservation is preferred. Number 2, make sure your entire party is present otherwise you will make the owner upset because he has his nightly service times down to a science. He does not like to make his other customers wait. Number 3, make sure to ask questions about the menu because there's not a lot of description unless you know Italian food by the name. Number 4, understand that the owner wants you to have the best experience when dining at his restaurant. He takes the time to greet everyone and explain his specials to you. If you're late for your reservation, he will make sure you know it. I say this, and you may think I'm complaining, but I'm really not. The owner cares about the food he is preparing for you. He cares about what you think and may even tell you how to eat his food. This is next level Italian dining! I love Italian food and thought I knew what good was. I did not know until visiting Vincenzo Trattoria. A good measure of a great dining experience is eating an appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert without bringing home a doggy bag. Our entire table ate every single bite. You can complain that his wife did not smile, or his dry humor made you feel bad, but the food is what you came for. From the bread to the calamari and everything to follow, you can't beat Vincenzo Trattoria's food.

    We have become frequent diners to Vincenzos. The menu and wine list continue to impress all of our family and friends. The daily specials are remarkably delicious and the service is always friendly, quick and courteous.

    This was our first visit but not our last. Vincenzo and the staff were gracious, friendly, and efficient. The food was excellent. It was clear that many of the diners were regulars and were welcomed warmly. A wonderful neighborhood place.

    The food was great, but the service was awful. The waitress obviously didn’t want to be there and showed it. I don’t think I’ve ever had that bad of service before. She argued with the owner too, it made the entire experience awkward and unpleasant. I wanted to ask her why she was mad at us until I saw her act that way to the next table. It’s a shame too because the pasta dishes we had were great.

    I grew up in New York, lived in Los Angeles, and have been to Italy a lot. Vincenzo has the best authentic Italian food in the greater Boise area. It all begins with high quality ingredients. The owner, Vincenzo (from the Naples area) has been in the restaurant business for decades. Even in his 70's, he passionately greets each guest and guides them to the right selection. He has tremendous personality and makes the experience wonderful. It's the closest thing you'll experience to dining in Italy without having to get on a plane.

    Warm toasty bread to welcome you, wide wine selection, especially for a small restaurant, interesting specials, yummy comfort pasta dishes. Would be nice to have fresh parm on the table for the bread and meal. Tiramisu was delicious once I got past the gooey skin on top of it.

    You get a feeling your always in trouble and the staff does not engage much but when they do your not sure how to take it. They also have a very odd rule that you can’t add Parmesan to your meal unless it’s ok by Vincenzo. No matter what you want!!

    It felt a bit like we were held captive to the owner’s wishes. They didn’t allow any substitutions to the menu (asked to add a topping to a pizza) and Refused to add Parmesan to a pasta dish even though they had it out for another persons dish. Very uncomfortable to be treated so abruptly.

    Best authentic Italian food on the planet . Vincenzo is in the restaurant making sure you have that authentic experience. He does a lobster spaghetti with a cognac red sauce that is out of this world . Overall best meal I have ever had . Took our good friends there . He had the lobster spaghetti . Which is a special .Not always available . We all had it . Our friends Love Italian food . They said it was amazing . Had the meatballs as appetizers . Also amazing ! We will definitely be back my friend ! Lunch is amazing as well. He does authentic pizza and wow !!!! Highly recommend ! Patron for life , Gil

    This is a hole in the wall restaurant found in a strip mall. You would never guess that inside you are going to enjoy some of the most authentic Italian pasta dishes around. Reservations are very important as this is a small place with only about 15 tables. The owner greeted us right away and the smell of fresh baked bread fills the air the moment you step inside. We ordered the lobster special which was hands down amazing and the lasagna (also delicious but nothing compared to the lobster dish). The service was fast and the food came out piping hot. We already are planning our next visit! Don’t forget to leave room for dessert! Tiramisu…need I say anything more?

    Unbelievably horrible experience! Owners comes to table looks at our bread and says no more bread for you, only one. We wait forever for our meal, then he comes back before we are done and tells us we have to leave. Needless to say did not even order desert. Lasagna was good, but way overpriced and small portions.     This place was amazing! Vincenzo, the owner, was going from table to table and making sure we were well taken care of and personally suggesting dishes he thinks we'd like. The food itself was incredible. I can't suggest this place enough!
