A must stop when in the Vail Valley looking for great food and wine! We had the Octopus and ShortRib off the Small Plates Menu and shared the Elk Chops from the Large Plate section. Accompanied by some great wines which our server Hanna suggested! These local boy's and girls no how to run a restaurant........Can't wait to go back......
The food and service is outstanding. I was staying in Vail and drove 15 min to get there. I highly recommend it.
Our server was knowledgeable and had excellent recommendations as the menu is vast. We went with 5 small plates and they were each outstanding. Great wine list with acceptable prices. This is a wonderful dining experience.
Share portions small for four people (2 couples). Very, very noisy. Kitchen slow, but server tried hard to compensate. Overall disappointing.
The food was delicious, the wine list was extensive, specialty drinks were great. Fun place with couples, especially during Happy hour.
Vin 48 was a fun dining experience. They have a selection of small plates and many people as we did make a dinner of several small plates. The fried Octopus was average not as fresh as we've had in the past. The Louisiana shrimp (3 total with heads on) were tasty and we particularly liked the the small Thai salad accompaniment. Best of all were their claim to fame mussels. The mussels were plump and the sauce with pieces of sausage and red pepper were divine. The beef short ribs with sauce were also very good. If you are not very hungry, four small plates will be enough for two especially if you share a dessert and cordial as we did. Otherwise, I think two small plates and two large plates are the way to go but you end up spending a lot more. We were celebrating our Anniversary and the host brought us a complementary glass of Prosecco for us to share which was a nice touch. Our waiter Dennis was very helpful and great all around. We liked Vin 48 but you do need to drop some bucks to really enjoy a solid dinner here. I hear their Happy Hour is the best in Avon.
First time there, and everyone ordered different items and they were all top notch! Delicious and right size portions. Will definitely be back soon!
Good neighborhood place!
Will definitely go back:)
The restaurant is very nice but the back room, where we were seated, although not terrible, definitely has the feel of an afterthought. To be fair, if you want to eat in a quieter atmosphere, I would say the back room would be fine but, for us, it felt like we didn’t experience the restaurant in the manner that we planned when we made our reservations. If we had known we’d not be in the main dining room, we would not have gone. The service was excellent. The food was good but heavy on the butter and the chicken drumsticks were very fatty. The rest of the food was fine but not terribly inspired. The wine was okay but my Beaujolais came with a lot of cork floating about, however, the waitress was quick to replace the glass.
Great food and drinks. Went twice during our 5 night stay in Avon!
Excellent seasonal menu
Smoked salmon app was a fav!
Far and away the best meal we’ve had during our week in Beaver Creek. Great spot. Highly recommend.
Vin48 is an outstanding & professionally staffed restaurant. From Chef who has deliciously appointed fresh cuisine & casual affair to those who Hosted our table, it was impressive. It's welcoming atmosphere boasts high ceilings & views of the mountains. We always recommend Vin48 to our house guests & rental visitors knowing they will be more than pleasantly surprised.
Excellent meal and wonderful service. The ambience was nice, even though we had a table near us that was quite loud. Highly recommend this restaurant to friends and Beaver Creek/Avon visitors.
Had a great dinner at Vin. Our waiter, was knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. We ordered a number of tasting plates and shared. Loved our meal
VIn 48 continues to be one of our faves! Chef Charlie Hays is innovative and daring, and they use as many locally sourced ingredients as possible. Colin & Greg are your owners/hosts, and make sure that everyone is having a great time. The entire service staff is EXTREMELY knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. When in the Vail Valley, you must go to Vin 48!
Vin48 is consistently delicious and great service! They have a great wine list and offer specials daily.
Great Wine List
Been going to Beaver Creek for years and always wanted to try this restaurant. We finally did and had a fantastic meal. Definitely on the list for our next trip.
Third year return during our annual ski trip. Rock fish, pheasant and pork chop very good. Service good. Only disappointment was the bread and dipping sauces. The bread used to be amazing. This time very dry as if it sat out all day. It was kind of a sad different way to start the meal off.
They kept turning up the music. Had to ask it be turned down. Service was good. Food just average. We are locals. It will be a while before we try again
Vin 48 is one of those restaurants that makes you want to go to the Michelin people and shake them hard to try to get them to understand that great food in the USA exists beyond New York, DC, Chicago, California. In an easy, casual atmosphere you will find astonishingly creative, brilliantly conceived and beautifully presented food and a wine list to match.
You can’t go wrong on a menu which presents a wide variety of plates, both small and large, which play with your taste buds and expectations in a delightful and brilliant way. Canonization should go to the chef for the beet salad alone, which delightfully pushes far from the dreary cliche of beet hunks, greens, walnuts and goat cheese into a sea of flavor, crunch, and savory deliciousness.
Kudos to everyone associated with this delightful restaurant, except the architect and designer, who seem to have forgotten that having to shout over your food and drink (particularly in the bar area) simply is disrespectful of he customer, the chef and the sommelier.
Great service, good wine, food tasty. Entries just barely warm.
As always, delicious, and the service, thanks to Anna Lisa, great. Vin48 is popular with locals and visitors alike and rarely, if ever, disappoints. Lots of small plates and a few large plates on the menu. Also, there is excellent curated selection of wines by the glass. So the bottom line is you get to try many different plates and wines. Try the pork cheek and the goat on the winter menu.
My husband, my son and his girlfriend, and I are in Beaver Creek once a year over New Year’s. Since discovering Vin 48 two years ago, we have eaten there twice on each trip. Service is excellent and servers are expert at describing dishes. Dishes are creative. Sharing with the table is encouraged and is fun. Wine list is superb of course and half glasses available. Comfortable seating and low noise level in reataurant area. A favorite here!
Vin 48 is provides consistently good service and delicious food. They have original specials and many wines by the glass in both 6 oz and 3 oz size. If you are looking for Rockies gourmet, farm to table (when possible) with a low key and quaint setting, then Vin 48 is a must!
We ate here for New Year's Eve dinner. It was a prix fix menu- that was really great! The appetizer courses were awesome. The entree course was good- but not as amazing. Overall, this is likely the best New Year's meal we've had in the Vail/Beaver Creek area. Great wine list and sommelier. Highly recommended.
Amazing food and ambience. We will defompr
We were running 30 mins late and they were nice enough to fit us in. Dinner was excellent as was the service! I had the ribeye and my husband had the filet. Both were outstanding. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
