   Superb meal overall! Staff were lovely and the meal was amazing, highlights were the red mullet and lobster dishes. The dining room is an amazing setting to eat in and the restaurant will go from strength to strength as you do feel it is still in the very early stages of a new opening and can only get better. Thank you team and good luck for the times ahead.

   Excellent I have been to this restaurant in all its guises including when Marcus Warring owned it. This is the best. They are still “exploring” menu options I would have liked a little more choice and perhaps a set lunch menu but our food was exceptional. The crab starter is a show stopper. Good wine list something for every budget and a beautiful dinning room. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

   Intense flavours from the amuses bouches to the petits fours. This is skilful cooking which begins with a lot of prep work and ends with the extensive use of tweezers. Such work runs the risk of there being an element or even elements too many but here the flavours are intense and well-integrated. Service was smooth and pleasant. Our meal was lifted by the recommendation of two wines by the glass – a white rioja and a Turkish red – which would not have been our first choices but which proved to be not only interesting but excellent partners for our dishes. It was disappointing that the Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee featured on the dessert list was not available as it would have been an appropriate conclusion to the meal but the Flat White and Americano from the bar were well made. A special experience.

   Immaculate start to end - from the booking to service to food. The Le Torteau with rock crab and sweet pea foam was particularly memorable. I appreciate they offered a shorter and longer tasting menu, to reflect what different patrons want out of fine dining. Gorgeous dining room. Worth a detour.

   Our meal was fantastic and went beyond my already high expectations. We went for the three-course a la carte but you effectively get a 5-course meal with the spectacular amuse bouche and petit fours. I especially liked the crab starter, the lobster main, and the grapefruit dessert though they said the menu changes very frequently so there may be other favorites next time. I was reminded a little of the Ritz Restaurant—the grand venue, the meticulous attention to detail in the food and service—just with a more laid-back atmosphere, a higher standard of food, and more personable service. The one thing I don't understand is why it's not the hottest ticket in town, it was nicely busy but not packed and didn't quite have the buzz it deserves. But all the staff were wonderful, all knowledgable, professional and friendly. I hope to be back soon!

   Victor Garvey at the Midland Grand was truly gorgeous. The Menu Experience tasting menu was exquisite. Bursting with different flavours. The presentation and service were wonderful. Perfect for a birthday celebration. Truly memorable

    It took 55 minutes for the first course to arrive. It was extremely small and the crab was freezing cold. Unpleasant. My main course was 2 small, thin lamb chops and an even smaller lamb lollipop. All the meat was dry and not pleasant to eat. There was a small puddle of sauce on the plate but nothing else. There was no option to purchase sides. My wife and I were left reaching for bread because we were hungry. We gave up and went to the next door restaurant for desert.
