Prior to our visit I had reviewed the menu online and decided I was going to have the pollo saltimbocca. As sometimes happens there were some really enticing specials on their nightly menu and I decided to try their grilled swordfish over a parmesan polenta. It was outstanding. My friend had the cioppino which he thoroughly enjoyed. Our spouses both ordered the eggplant parmigiana and were a little disappointed (the reason for a less than 5 star rating). They both felt the breading was a bit thick (the menu says lightly breaded) and the eggplant was overcooked. The calamari which we shared was very good and a very generous portion.
The service was excellent and made the meal even better than it already was.
Overall a very good experience and we all plan to return in the near future.
Why haven’t I received my points for this visit?
Great food and ambiance for a special occasion or everyday dining
As usual, the food, the wine, and the service were extraordinary. Via Toscana is one of the best keep secrets in Colorado.
Our first time eating at the restaurant since COVID began. We’ve eaten take out several times during the last year. But it was nice to dine in. The food was outstanding and the service was great. The bar always makes a tasty martini and negroni. Their happy hour food and beverage items were very inexpensive and tasty (ends at 6pm).
Perfect for a very nice night out. Lots of food choices - Absolutely delicious. Able to take our time which made for such a relaxed special dinner.
Great atmosphere (quiet and relaxing), professional service, never feel rushed, and wonderful Italian food. We are frequent patrons of Via Toscana.
Great food, great service. You will not be disappointed if you go here!
So glad to be back dining with one of our favorite restaurants. The mussels were as delicious as always. Short ribs also very good. We’ll be back again soon. So glad you were able to survive the horrendous 2020. Continued good luck.
As always good food and service. We arrived early evening and had a great experience.
One of my favorite regular Restaurant week spots. Hostess was very nice, warm and welcoming. My server was great in the beginning but had issues in the end. I started with a wild mushroom soup which I would drink from the kettle given the opportunity! This soup is one of the best I've ever had! The Primi was the Gnocchi Cacio e Pepe which could have used a little Romano or Asiago for that little extra flavor but the little delightful pillows are unreal! The chef make these by hand; they are worth every penny. For my Secondi I had a Spaghetti Rigate Vodka di Mare which had some issues. The Chef came out to "make it right". The server on the other hand couldn't answer questions about the dish. This was a bit of an issue for me. The Chef also makes the Ganache pie which is a must for dessert. I think it's the best dessert I've ever had in an Italian restaurant. It's worth the trip to Louisville for this fine Italian cuisine!
Dinner at Via Toscana is always an enjoyable experience!
Our table of 4 were celebrating an important event, and our waiter
was very accommodating and eager to respond to all our requests.
I can't wait to go back to Via Toscana!
Everything was great. Bathroom floor was dirty, which took away from the entire experience.
The food is pretty average, not much better than Fazoli’s quality. The Caesar salad tasted like cheap Kroger brand from a bag. The shrimp in my risotto weren’t properly peeled. It was for my birthday and I was pretty disappointed.
The service was very slow, and the noise level made hard to have a conversation across the table, food was okay, but I think I might have not ordered the best choicest, I had wild mushroom bisque, not as flavorful as I thought it would have been, and the Italiano Calzone which was very doughy.
My wife had the Lasagna and thought it was very good, but didn't care for the mushroom bisque not enough flavor and served luke warm.
Everything was wonderful. Waiter was awesome & food was delicious .
Had a great time . Will be back.
The food, everything from appetizer to dessert was incredible. Our server was fantasic and the ambiance was just right.
We visited Via Toscana for restaurant week and it was amazing. We had to bring one entrée home because we ate every bit of the first two courses. We had the bruschetta to start, and then we shared the gnocchi and crab cake. Both were outstanding. I had the penne vodka mar and the scallops were perfect and the sauce was outstanding. My companion had the steak and it was out of this world. We had cannoli and tiramisu for dessert which were equally perfection! Our waiter was very attentive and seemed to appear just when we needed our drinks refreshed. Great experience, we will absolutely be back.
I enjoyed the meal but I thought there would be a choice for dinner and not just the $45 one. It was pricey which I don't think is the aim of restaurant week?
The ambiance was very nice. We were excited to try this establishment that was a longer drive than usual but wanted to get out of our bubble and the reviews were mostly good. The service for the most part was serviceable, and just that, we got served. No personality or friendly attitude. Just there to get the job done. I shouldn't be sorry for expecting more. The food... Oh first the value. I think the prices are great. I was tempted to order more, at least appetizers with the lower prices. Appetizers were calamari and beet salad. The doneness of the calamari was good but taste was not over the top. The beet salad was simple and good. The deep-fried goat's cheese on the beet salad was a surprise. I think I prefer crumbles but it was a fun twist. The server did do us right when we asked the Kitchen for an entree that was off a prix fixe menu. It was the Carbonara, best of all the dishes. Came with a sunny side up egg to mix into the pasta. I've never seen it served this way but again fun and delicious. From the best to the worst, the Eggplant Parmesan. No bueno. No sauce, fried to a dark, dry, unflavored, puck. Some kind of cheese that looked like Ellmers glue was holding it together. Only the very thin spaghetti had a lump of lukewarm sauce that need more time cooking. Dissappointing because I love good eggplant parm.
No reason for us to return to this restaurant because it is pedestrian and out of our way. Was hoping to find a gem but was let down.
Great food and wine in unhurried quiet comfortable atmosphere
great people great dinner- love the atmosphere!
This was our 4th dinner at Via Toscana and it was great to see that this fine restaurant was quite busy! The server was kept very busy but managed to have good timing to serve us. I'm very impressed that Toscana has an exceptional wine list for our area of Colorado and the sommelier's recommendations are excellent. Food is tasty and portions are substantial, but a certain amount of finesse is missing that keeps me from giving a 5 star rating. I strongly recommend and will be a steady customer of Via Toscana!
We dined during Restaurant Week and the everything we ordered from appetizer to main course was delicious.
Our wonderful wait person brought us a sample of the Merlot on the specials menu. Delicious! We ordered two glasses. Dinner was equally delicious. A good group of diners added a nice buzz to the dining experience but, as usual, the restaurant is split up into enough spaces that the atmosphere is always quiet and intimate. It was a completely satisfying experience and we’ll be back! This is one of our favorite places for girls night out, family meals or a romantic getaway. It checks al of the boxes!
Calm, quiet atmosphere with delicious meals and quality service.
Fabulous dinner! We went with our 2 adult children. There was something on the menu for everyone including our vegetarian and our very picky child. Service was superb and we felt tables were spaced nicely and masks were worn by all staff. Their lasagna was great. Chicken Parmesan is large portion with very buttery flavor. Yum! Enough for two. The beet salad special was wonderful.the chocolate polenta cake tasted like best brownie ever with strawberries and whipped cream.
So glad they are open again and we will be back!
Wanted an evening out with husband that had ambiance and great food! Love Via Toscana!
We had an overall great experience on our date night. We started with a bottle of wine and enjoyed the amazing fresh bread. For entrees, we got the baked manicotti and the puttanesca, both of which were delicious. While the puttanesca serving size was on the larger size, the manicotti serving size was extremely small and was finished very quickly. We capped off our dinner with some excellent cannolis. The room we were in was full upon arrival with mostly families but was not too loud. Service was attentive. Will plan on coming back.
Friendly staff - delivering good service. Had a great dinner
and good wine. I always recommend this restaurant!
Via Toscana is a hidden gem. Excellent Italian food, huge wine selection, friendly, "small-town" vibe of service. Would be a great place to celebrate an anniversary or impress a date.
First time there and everything was excellent! We will be back for sure!
Food? Amazing. Service? Outstanding. Coming Back? very soon. Loved it!
Took my daughter out to eat with a few of her friends while visiting CU. I consider myself a food snob from NY and judge very critically on Italian food. This place was spot on and the food exploded with flavor and presentation. Outstanding! The only drawback was from the 3 drunk chicks sitting at a table near us who thought they were the only ones in the restaurant. My one complaint was that the staff did not tell them to shut up because nobody cared about all the stupid crap your were drunkenly screaming about.
We have always enjoyed Via Toscana and this was our first time back in over a year due to the pandemic. The dining area is divided into alcoves and booths and also has glass partitions, a great place for socially distanced dining. The food was delicious as always and is a good value. We’ll be back!
Love the ambiance, the food was excellent, service was great, wine was perfect.
First time at this restaurant. What a find. Thoroughly enjoyable.
The salad, the soup, the main course, the dessert and the service were all phenomenal!!!! Probably the best Italian food I’ve had in this area! Definitely will be going back!
