Great food. Great service. Great service. Wonderful atmosphere wonderful atmosphere. If you're looking for a great romantic mind out this is the place. Easy walking distance from the hotels in the plaza area.
Enjoyed the food and the music. Would prefer that the restaurant not permit dogs in the restaurant.
The best part is the piano bar the music is wonderful it’s a very special place
Great food! Piano Bar outstanding. Hotel rooms are large and comfortable.
Very nice experience. Piano entertainment was great. Outstanding food but service was a bit slow.
Piano Bar was lots of fun!
The piano was way too loud. We sat in the dining room to avoid it, but the show off jazz and adult pop permeated every corner. The music was not conducive to eating. The order came out incorrectly and part of it was missing. The food was hit or miss; good breaded chicken and zucchini, rock hard garlic bread, mediocre street corn. Service was lacking. It used to be a favorite of our but we will not be returning.
We were disappointed. We asked fir the main dining room and were placed in a noisy bar. The lady at the next table was napping on the table. Her table mate was up and down numerous times with loud telephone conversation. The pianist, talented with Chopin and billy Joel but kept asking for tips. On his break they played “we will rock you “ loud, inappropriate dinner music. Food was fair. Won’t be back. Very sad
We always enjoy listening to Doug Montgomery. He's a great showman, talented and humorous.
What a wonderful dinner experience - great music, delightful atmosphere, good food. Perfect way to spend an evening!
Food just OK but entertainment (piano bar) excellent. Flatbreads probably your best choice. Onion loaf is not my thing — from the guy who loves onion rings.
Entertainment makes up for the other shortcomings.
The food was incredible. Entertainment was top notch. The service was impeccable. The price was considerably less than expected. Overall, one of the best evenings out in a long time. Seriously, 5 stars! Will be back, frequently.
Noisy, crowded, and so-so food. We were hoping for a quiet dinner, and were placed in the piano bar area at a little cocktail table. Very disappointing.
Staff was short and room was full, which challenged their service level on a holiday evening. The musical talent and humor and good spirits of the overtaxed wait staff, with a little customer self help, got drinks and a fine meal delivered on close to the same schedule that prior good service would lead one to expect. If there is one restaurant in Santa Fe in which to happily wait for post-pandemic service kinks to work themselves out on a busy night, Vanessie would be that restaurant.
Sole was not edible
Great atmosphere especially wit Doug Montgomery at the piano
Getting out of the pandemic mode and experiencing live music with good simple food - Vanessie is perfect on a Friday night.
Fenix at Vanessie is a great place for Dinner and to listen to music.
So much fun!! Happened on this on a girls trip and it was perfect. Great entertainment, good food and service. A great night out.
We are long time diners at Vanessie's and had not been there since the virus arrived. Like many places, felt they were still struggling with increased crowds. Drink service was slow and menu was a little different. Entertainment was good, except a little loud. Will try again soon. Parking still is limited in area, but evening was nice for a short walk. We had visitors from Nevada, so it was a nice experience for them.
A meal with a piano is a perfect ambiance for us. The pasta dishes were fantastic!
The female vocalist and male pianist were wonderful. Food was so so. Over cooked lamb- ordered rare- received well done. Service was slow and not very attentive.
Fine food, comfortable atmosphere, impeccable service!
What a surprise this was. We thought we were going to just a ‘dinner’. This dinner came with a piano player and singer that was wonderful. We had no idea this was a piano bar the entertainment was amazing. The manager,Miguel, was very attentive and sang a few beautiful songs ! The food was delicious! I had the Sole, and it was perfect! I would go back here! Beautiful setting!
The pianist not Doug Was outstanding
Loved coming to hear Doug play....
Just had truffle fries and flatbread but quite good!
Great service & evening
Food was great and Doug Montgomery always makes our evening!
Magical entertainment from piano man Doug Montgomery. Food very good and fairly priced. Staff fair, talked too much in background while Doug played. Highly recommend for date night out.
The entertainment was a bit schlocky but not bad except for a rather inebriated woman who danced around the room overwhelming the lounge singer. Food was good. Somewhat crowded.
It was a great atmosphere, live music and good food and drinks.
We had dinner at 7:30pm on Saturday, March 20, 2021. The restaurant was crowded and there was no one to greet us at the door to sit us based on the OT reservation. Once seated, it was obvious that the server had too many tables to cover and thus our experience as not great because the server failed to place our entrée order until we inquired. However, in an effort to make it right, the restaurant comped our appetizer. The crowds are starting to gather as Covid19 is hopefully under control. The piano bar was fun and lively. We will likely not return as there are other Santa Fe area restaurants that we prefer.
If I could give the food and service zero stars I would. Waited forever for food, even though it was not busy at all, to get a burnt piece of chicken and a raw steak with not even a whiff of flavor. Even the mashed potatoes were inedible.
Great service and great foos - plus the piano player was exceptional!
What a great night out with friends. I cannot wait to plan something like that at Vanessie again!
Our reservation through OpenTable never happened. The app give us a time of 9pm - which happened to be their closing time. Obviously a lapse in communication.
Service was lackluster. Entertainment was good as Doug usually is.
I would not recommend this restaurant. We waited for half an hour after being seated, asked four different people if we could get a server to come over and nobody came. After half an hour we ended up leaving. This place is unorganized, unprofessional, and not worth your time or money.
Best COVID set up I’ve seen yet, but a tent, closed on all sides is still an enclosed room.
