   Our daughter ordered the gluten free waffle. They brought out my order and my husband’s and said the waffle would be right out. We were almost done eating ours when they finally brought hers out. The food was really good, but the timing was terrible and the server was very hard to flag down.

   From the breakfast menu (8:00 - 2:30), dishes sampled were: waffle, fried chicken with waffles, sweet potato mash-up, and Chilaquiles. All were very good.

   Unfortunately, we had a horrible experience. We were celebrating my sister’s 50th and made reservations. I live across town and rarely get to that area so it was a treat. We were a few minutes late so I dropped her off to get a table. She has a large (certified) service dog, which the manager at the front said there wasn’t room for. My sister said she asked about a booth because he is trained to lay underneath. He said no, saying those were for other people. She put the dog in the car (luckily it was cool) and we went in. On the way in to eat, the same manager was in the parking lot walking back inside and asked if we were coming in for breakfast, which my sister found odd because she was just in speaking with him about a booth. We went in, were seated at a small 2-person table between two rows of booths, and ate breakfast. 3 of the booths around us sat empty the entire time. Shortly after being seated I got a call from the restaurant, but I thought it was regarding being a few minutes late. Since we were seated I disregarded it. After eating and leaving I noticed I had a message. It was from the manager at the restaurant, saying we should never come back as my sister was rude and condescending, demanding a booth. We were appalled! Not only was she not any of these things, he refused a service dog AND he apparently planned to chew me out if I had answered his phone when he could have come up and talked to us in person. To say the least, we will never, ever be back. Reading other reviews about the crappy manager, I am not so surprised. What a jerk.

   50 min wait for poorly executed food. Manager said that was a normal wait time. Some food burned others cooked to mush. Service staff was not attentive at all.

    Urban Steam used to be one of our favorite places for brunch, but over the last several years the place has gone down hill. They expanded the business over the last few years, tripling the seating area. But they have not expanded the kitchen. If you visit while they are busy prepare to wait incredibly long times for your food.

    The food was a bit pricey but good. It did take a really long time for it to come out though which was the down fall and it seemed like they were understaffed for what they needed. With that being said, their cafe drinks were very good.

    Taking our mom out for her birthday this past Sunday did not disappoint! Of course the restaurant was packed, but with our reservations the host had our table ready and we were greeted by an amazing server with a great personality and sense of humor. From the mimosas to the stuffed french toast and avocado eggs benedict, the food, ambience and overall experience checked every box! We'll be back again for another celebration or just a good excuse to eat out at an exceptional restaurant in Colorado Springs!

    Low key vibe, love that they offer reserved tables at breakfast for Sundays. Food is always great, one party member thought their waffle was a bit dry. Latte was fantastic and service was great.

    Chicken and waffles was decent, not the best I’ve had and not the worst. The cornmeal waffle texture was meant to be light and airy but it created a weird texture with the chicken. The crunch on the chicken was also mediocre but the flavor was nice. The bloody hairy was very tasty!

    I enjoyed the roasted sweet potato with roasted vegetables. It had wonderful flavor. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The derailleur (dark roast) had good flavor and didn’t taste burnt. I enjoyed my meal

    walked in at our reservation, nobody greeted us for 10 minutes. sat down at a table and it was another 10 before the only waiter working came around, looked at us, froze and said “it’s going to be a couple minutes” in a highly exasperated stressed voice, so we left. Felt bad because this place has the best food but the last few times we’ve gone the service has just been downright awful.

    This was a cute place for brunch and the menu had lots of great options. The food was nothing special but it was satisfying—though I would say a little overpriced for what it was. Unfortunately, the pour over coffee was not brewed well, which was disappointing since they advertise their beans and that option. Overall, would probably go again.

    We made a reservation and the restaurant had not made any preparations for us, so we needed to wait for them to rearrange the tables when we arrived despite the restaurant being nearly empty. Our food took ages to come out and we were offered no explanation or apology while other groups sat down, ordered, ate, and left as we waited. The food was underwhelming and some of the dishes were cold. (I suspect that they weren’t ready to prepare one of the orders, so the other food got cold while they played catch-up.) They refused to split the check and added a gratuity because we were a party of six or more (including kids and an infant). Both of these obnoxious policies were posted around the restaurant, but they did split the payment on the check evenly between two cards after lecturing us why they couldn’t split the check. The 50/50 split was fine with us, but the rudeness was not: just offer the split payment as a solution first rather than make a point of refusing, or, better yet, be willing and able to perform a basic service for your customers. The arrogance of the staff here is out of control. We won’t be back.

    The wait staff was super unfriendly, inattentive, rude and could have cared less that we were paying customers. The poutine was not good. The eggs that I ordered with my French toast was request to be over medium and they might have well been raw. Disgusting. Couldn’t even eat them. We were out of drinks, and had to get up and go to the bar to request refills. Cokes are per can and not cheap. Mixed drinks ok. Host guy had a bad case of resting female dog face. He was very rude and super unhappy. Basically we will never be back and I would recommend not going here and spending your hard earned money elsewhere.

    The food here is always amazing! I am absolutely in love with their breakfast options. My husband loves their drink specials as well. Can get a little crowded in the mornings, especially on the weekends so make sure you make a reservation before you go.
