Ulu Kitchen by Merriman is an ocean front restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner service featuring local ingredients and recipes created by chef Peter Merriman.

We have indoor and outdoor dining options, with a full bar, and the most prime dining views in all of Ka'anapali. The breakfast menu features classic favorites like Eggs Benedits, omelettes, pancakes, as well as some unique dishes like the cure (breakfast ramen) and our Hawaiian chilaquiles.

Lunch features our signature smash burger, fresh ahi tuna poke bowl, tempura battered fish and chips, and a fresh local veggie wrap.

Dinner has a seafood forward menu featuring Ahi Sashimi, Grilled Tako, Scallops, Mahi Mahi, Shrimp and Lobster Ravioli. From the land we offer a USDA Prime Beef Filet Mignon, Snake River Farms Wagyu Beef Cheeseburger, and Maui Nut Venison Loin.

    Excellent food and service. Seating is comfortable and spacious unlike being jammed in like the close by Hula Grill.

    Had the $60 wok fried ahi. I've been on Maui 20 days and it was easily the worst meal we've had.

    Totally boring and limited menu. Fully feels like a standard hotel menu. Nothing special so overpriced, Service was way below par of other restaurants. Vibe is also nit amazing even thou its in the middle of everything, we left after appetizers and went to monkeypod, waayyy better.

    Open air, beautiful views in all directions, soft music from the bar area, and happy, efficient staff caring for us! Delightful…a bit pricey, but what isn’t these days!

    We had breakfast and everything was very good. Both benedicts were good, but the chilaquiles really stole the show. Outstanding.

    One of our kids had a dish that was very salty but staff was very kind and allowed him to change his dish and refunded the salty dish. Thank you!!

    I ordered the special of the day. It was fire grilled ahi tuna. My wife ordered mahi. She loved her serving. However, I wasn’t happy with mine. The flavor of the tuna was good if you cut off the really badly burnt skin. Trying to eat the tuna with the skin on it was like scraping bunt bark off wood. The server saw it and noticed I was not happy. It was taken back to be replaced. Evidently, the chef was not happy about the fish being returned and wanted to make a statement. Upon return of my plate was tuna tartar. It went from one extreme to the other. When my server took our plates and came back with our check, he had the price of the tuna removed. The service was A plus. My wife’s food was A plus. I had a D grade at best with my food.
