Originated from the famed Uchi restaurant in Austin, founded by James Beard Award-winning Chef Tyson Cole, Uchiko specializes in robust flavors infused with smoke and hints of char balanced with the fresh and clean profile that is the hallmark of its sister concept Uchi. Reservations are encouraged and can be booked online up to 1 month in advance for parties of up to 8 guests. Walk-in bar seating is available and is subject to wait times.     Service was very lack luster. We got our food before our drinks. They kept giving us complimentary dishes because our server kept forgetting to put in our order. Not the uchi/UCHIKO franchise we remember.

    My husband picked Uchiko for his birthday dinner. The food and service were amazing. Both of us loved the koviche especially. We try to order different items each time we go to this great restaurant because the menu is so unique. But we will probably have to order the koviche again.

    Our main server was outstanding. He knew the menu, make great recommendations, make sure that our tasting menu experience with spot on. The problem is  there was so much confusion about the orders as one of our party did not order the tasting menu. When plates were delivered, it was never clear whether the food was part of the tasting menu or not. Ultimately we received other tables orders, did not receive all the food we ordered, and it was incredibly slow. In the end we were begging for the check because we have been there two hours. And while the food is excellent, it was so discombobulated I hesitate to return. I felt terrible for our main server who always trying to fix and apologize for others mistakes.

    Outstanding experience, from buzzing ambiance to great service to exceptional food. We didn’t do the omakase experience but followed the server’s recommendation for the best dishes and we were very happy. It’s Japanese fusion at its best, highly recommended

    This is the second time that we are seated in the same table and for the second Time we couldn’t enjoyed our dinner because the table behind were people so loud, scramming! We asked to be re-seated. While there were several tables available the waitress told he couldn’t… the service was poorly managed afterwards (messy sequence and timing very poor). Terrible experience… certainly our last time there

    An absolute delight, each and every server showed exceptional customer service and made for an unforgettable dinner. From the aesthetics of the restaurant to the exceptional food, I will definitely be returning here. (There’s also free parking)

    We had the tasting menu and even though it was a little pricey it was still very good. The server we had was amazing and was understanding about any allergies or things we did not like. The restaurant was quiet which was very nice. The seats in the restaurant were comfortable. Everything in all was very good but it was a bit dim in the restaurant.

    Everything o.k. Until dessert. I asked for a dessert. It was not available anymore. Instead of letting me know they changed it for banana foster which I hated. I let them know I don’t like banana. They still charged me for it in my bill. They gave me another dessert I did not like either. I told them if the one I like it is not available then dismiss. I did not like paying for something I did not asked for.

    I can’t say enough about Dani and the rest of the crew at Uchiko. It was my second time to do the Somakase and she remembered my “must haves” and my “must avoids” from a month ago. Best experience and meal I have ever had. I’ll be back next month.

    Another great experience at Uchiko. This time for our anniversary dinner. Stuck with the Omakase - which gets better every time. They take notes so you don’t have to; they remember what you loved and make recommendations based on that. The dessert selection was amazing! Everything was great. :)

    What a wonderful restaurant. The food is innovative,the the fish is so fresh , the presentation is beautiful . The service is the best I had in any restaurants. The staff is very well trained at explaining all the different dishes and making suggestions. The decor is beautiful, elegant. I highly recommend Uchiko.

    Had the Omakase, ten courses with both raw and cooked options. The lobster was one of the best dishes. The sauce it came with was wonderful. Service was great, the waitress checked on us quite often and gave full discriptiin of each course.

    We love this place… the vibe, the food and service were impeccable. Our first time and we will be back! We usually go to uchi but we probably will start going here instead! They have identical menu and more!

    Possibly the best food experience of my life. We did the omakase experience & every single piece brought to us was incredible. The scallops & trumpet mushroom kinoko nigiri will blow your mind. The gyutoro nigiri is the best piece of food I have ever eaten. It literally melts in your mouth. If you are adventurous and love food, Uchiko is a must! Your bank account will be a little sad but it’s so worth it. 10/10

    Best sushi in the country hands down. Paul the sushi chef and Kinsey the server are absolutely fantastic. I’ve been here about 10 times and will continue to come on every business trip.

    We celebrated our anniversary here, the food was mouthgasmic, the service was top tier. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. What an amazingly pleasant experience. Though every server was extremely nice & attentive, our main server was David. The kid is fantastic, honestly made our whole experience really enjoyable. He really took the time to explain basically the entire menu to us and pointed us towards some excellent dishes which we truly loved. Very helpful , attentive, & understanding; PHENOMENAL. // 10/10 food. 10/10 service. Top top TOP! 👏🏼

    Our waiter was amazing, but the manager was horrible. She assumed my friend was intoxicated and had no idea that she was not. This was her first experience after I told her how amazing your hospitality group was. Poor management and treating us like we did something wrong is not ok. Hope she does not do that to other patrons.

    The food quality was good. You can tell the ingredients are really fresh. The service was also top notch. The waitress even gifted us a glass of champagne knowing that we were there to celebrate my partner’s birthday. However, one thing I would like to point out is the omakase was not the traditional omakase I was expecting. I expected it to be a fixed price and the chef would “create/design” a specific combo for guests of the day. But the omakase here is that the chef picked 10 dishes from their menu and the final price would be basically you ordered the same set of dishes yourself from the menu. Nothing special or out of ordinary. Wouldn’t say it’s bad but just different from my experience and expectations.

    Uchiko is always our favorite when celebrating our birthdays! We know what dishes to order since they always serve good food. We missed their dessert fried milk, it seems it is only available in Uchiko Austin or Uchi Houston. All in all, 4 stars!
