We had a wonderful experience and will surely be back. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was enjoyable considering the current environment.
Food was absolutely amazing!!! Very unique atmosphere. The wine was great. Our cocktails that we had while we waited were served in a plastic pouch. I wish they would have told us prior. We had the brushcetta... not a typical Bruschetta...but I loved it!! So very good. I had the butcher's cut pork....amazing. Our party also had pasta with scallops, the chicken and a beet salad with soup. Each dish delicious.
We had dinner at Trattoria the evening of our engagement (Saturday, Nov 16th). From beginning to end it was fantastic. The Bruschetta, followed by beef carpaccio, then we split the veal (tomahawk) with mushrooms.
Mammoth gin martini (if you enjoy gin, and have not tried Mammoth from Northern Michigan, find it or have it ordered, it is exceptional) with blue cheese olives at the beginning of our meal was shaken to the point of perfection.
Our server was the proper balance of politely checking on us without being pushy or overbearing.
The dinner service at Trattoria added to a perfect day. We thank you and send our compliments.

Delicious food, cozy and romantic. Very knowledgeable wait staff. Great experience
Very unique setting and amazing food and service.
Great food, wine selection, beer selection. Wait staff is awesome. Love decor. Very quiet. Prices a little high. Great place for a special occasion
My husband and I had a fantastic dinner for our anniversary. Service was great, the food was amazing, and the safety precautions the staff were adhering to were much appreciated. The tables were far apart so not only did we feel comfortable, but it was also quiet so it helped with the ambiance too. We’ll definitely be back!
Another delicious meal from Trattoria Stella. They never disappoint. Unique flavors cooked perfectly.
Excellent cuisine. Best value is the small pizza.
While the veal was excellent (way overpriced), the rest of the food (burrata, charcuterie board, panna cotta, chocolate dessert) was more about "fancy" and less about taste and enjoyment. We decided after 4-5 visits to Traverse City to try this place due to all the hype. I would save your money (this placed is up charging at least 20% for poor quality food) and go to other places like PepeNero and Amical just to mention a couple - the food is much better, service is great, and you will enjoy your dining experience vs. wondering why you just sat through a meal at Trattoria that you didn't enjoy and wondering how come the rest of the customers speak so highly of the place.
Scallops piccata was absolutely delicious! Outstanding service in a cozy setting.
We absolutely enjoyed our dinner at Stella and would recommend and go again if in TC.
We enjoyed the roasted chestnuts and featured app of fried kale. The fennel pollen short rib was delicious and peak season flavors on the plate. The featured fish entree of saffron risotto with hake was very good, but 2nd to everything else on the table. The panna cotta with cranberry & orange was a perfect, not too sweet, ending to the meal.
The service was impeccable. The server was very attentive, but also was still learning (as we all are) when it came to the wine list. He gave us great descriptions of the featured items. Showed us attention when needed but also gave us space to enjoy each course.
The smaller of the two tops was a little cramped when dishes started arriving and the music a little loud making it hard to hear across the table and to hear the server through the mask.
The COVID mask, distancing, and cleanliness protocols all appeared in place and in use.
Food was good drinks were good waitress was very nice I would definitely return.
The food was excellent and service was great. The atmosphere was very relaxing and it was easy to converse with my dinner date. I definitely would go back when I'm in Traverse City again.
This place is amazing! Shea is the best server ever!
Always excellent. I come here every time I'm in Traverse City.
Incredible ambiance, very cool building, stylish drinks and menu items, and everything was delicious. Highly recommend.
loved dining at Stella,
Our waitress was excellent with her explanations of all the items
the atmosphere was wonderful
Such a wonderful experience
Loved it
We went to Trattoria Stella on the recommendation of a co-worker and it was incredible. Highly knowledgeable staff, cool atmosphere, and most importantly incredible food. We would definitely go back again!
The location is amazing, the history of the building and the ambiance is so unique. The remodel was perfect, it still has the design and structure of the original building but it feels like an intimate restaurant. The food was slightly disappointing, nothing we had was spectacular but far from unenjoyable. I had high expectations and they were unfortunately not met. I would go back and try different menu items.
Expensive (when you add drinks), but food is well worth it! Love that the tables are distanced & employees wear masks.
It was a wonderful experience. We had a little trouble accessing the property due to some road closures, but the experience was wonderful. Erika was our server and she made the best recommendations for food as well as cocktails. The aviation martini was a delight. The clams, which are an appetizer, served as my entree and I still couldn't finish it. The clams were the size of my thumb! So good. After dinner, the lemoncello after was perfect. Highly recommend. My only complaint. Cold bread. They make it fresh every day, but when it's served, it was cold. I asked them to warm it up...got a hard no because they didn't have room in the oven. It seemed odd to me but when I received my clams, I had lots of toasty bread!
We had a fantastic time. Food was amazing. Our server was very friendly at first but then seem to have a little bit of an attitude after that. Not sure what happened there. But over all my date and I had a wonderful time. We will be back again.
I just love the food here and the service was excellent. Our waitress took the time to properly explain all our questions and provided additional information on their selection of dessert wines.
We try to get to Stellas as often as we can, we have always had great service and great food. We wish we could go more often. It's a very special place to go for a dining experience.
O U T S T A N D I N G. From creative cocktails to delectable desert & espresso...ideal for a special occasion.
We had the best wait staff. Shea. She was busy but she made us feel welcome and she also worked as the bartender. Food was the absolute amazing. I did not know that they cooked from scratch and therefore their menu changed daily!!!
I need to get the beet salad before the season ends!!!!!
As always, Trattoria Stella didn’t disappoint. The cocktails were divine which set the stage for the rest of the meal. The shaved celery salad is amazing. Can’t wait to go back.
My favorite find in Traverse City. Compliments to the chef for the best tasting dishes I’ve tried thus far. The waiter was well informed and guided us in choosing amazing dishes. I would give this restaurant more than 5 stars if I could.
Waited 10 minutes for the waitress to come to the table, ordered drinks and food at the same time. She brought the bread basket when we were half way done with our dinner.
Trattoria Stella serves consistently delicious food. Even though the wine list is greatly shortened due to COVID, their wine selections are great. Service was excellent and I felt that they take COVID safety very seriously. Great dining experience as always!
The service was excellent!
My wife and I visited to celebrate her birthday. The experience was wonderful. We enjoyed every menu item that we ordered, and the service is top notch. We plan to visit Trattoria Stella any time that we enjoy a vacation in Traverse City!
The food and drinks were excellent. High recommend the soup and monkfish dish.
Amazing food, very accommodating for food allergies. Highly recommended
Wonderful staff, excellent food and always consistent.
Great 👍😊good food great service 👏
Amazing food and service!
Excellent service after a slow start — in this difficult Covid era, Stella’s has done a superior job of making the dining experience as close to perfection as possible. Menu did a good job of fitting between nouveau and traditional Italian. Weren’t offered the wine book (a work of art in its own right) so missed out on some interesting choices. Interesting cocktails. A first time diner should not hesitate to ask about a tasting menu or substitution to sides; server didn’t ask about allergies. Despite these missteps, the rest of the service and the food was competitive with top drawer restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Absolutely the BEST food I’ve ever had. Maybe I’m exaggerating, but the taste of the food was like pure ecstacy. Absolutely wonderful service too.
