The Top of Waikiki, one of our favorite restaurants is permanently closed. Open Table had to cancel my reservations because of it. We are very saddened.
Service was great, steak was excellent, and the gummy bear martini was to die for!!!
Definitely coming back! Thank you Joe (our server) for being nothing less of great and for making our dining experience one of the best! 💯
Just like the Space Needle in Seattle. All in all, in my opinion this restaurant is a 4⭐️‘s at best. The view is fantastic except when you are in front of,what I believe, was the kitchen. Fremont food was excellent, however, portions were VERY small. I had Surf and Turf. It was delicious, it was also, maybe a 5 oz steak with two tiny pieces of crab on it. WTF? After you eat your entree, you SHOULD feel, at least, somewhat full. Not here. I was still hungry. I don’t want to complain about the price, but, I got maybe $20 worth of meat and seafood, on the plate, and it cost more than 3x that price. Again it was delicious. The place overall was looking a bit shabby and run down. Needs a real refresh. I almost forgot, that it took almost 2 hours for dinner to be served from when we sat down. Enjoy this place at your own risk.
The food was great, moist, flavorful, and decorative. I really like the frozen chocolate on the plate, and the dessert was very crunchy, and the ice cream was delicious with those nuts. The peanut brittle bar was hard,; yet tasty. Overall, the food was fantastic for the occasion.
Nice view and pretty good service! A bit on the pricey side but the food was truly delicious. The plating was beautiful. We did have to wait more than 40 minutes for our appetizer which I thought was a bit long.
Great place to visit, went for 5 year anniversary and the steak was fantastic. The rooftop bar one escalator down was really cool too.
It was outstanding. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone celebrating a special occasion.
It was the second time that I went to the Top of Waikiki; the last time being about 7 years ago. I remember the food being really delicious and the view being amazing. This second experience at The Top Of Waikiki definitely did not disappoint. We had a wonderful time and the food was so delicious! I definitely recommend people trying out this restaurant, it’s the perfect setting for a date or someone looking for great views.
Had an amazing night with the best view. Everybody was friendly that came by and the steak was delicious. 10/10
The entire staff was very helpful! We hung out at the bar before our reservation was available and the bar staff was very friendly. We got the Lobster and Steak and both were amazing!
Wish we had a window table
We enjoyed happy hour first and then got seated for dinner. Highly recommend the New York steak and Short Ribs.
Nate did a great job, the food and wine was excellent!
We had very enjoyable evening. Service, food, and view were outstanding. Highly recommend!!
Food was wonderful. Service was a little slow but the view and ambiance was perfect. They served no bread which was disappointing.particularly when having soup and salad. I’d recommend this to all my family and friends
My wife and I had dinner at the Top of Waikiki to celebrate her birthday. The experience was all that we expected and wanted to celebrate my wife's day of birth. The restaurant was located close to where we stayed, within a 5 minute walk, and therefore was very convenient. The area is "touristy" but quite comfortable. The receptionist was quite friendly and took us to our table right away. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and his service was exceptional. The food was served with little delay and was properly timed progressively - drinks, followed by appetizer, then soup/salad, main course, finally dessert. The food was cooked nicely and the taste was very good. We appreciated the extra acknowledgement of my wife's birthday. The views of the surrounding Waikiki area were extraordinary and added to the comfortable ambience. Overall, this experience was outstanding and, if ever in the area again, we definitely will visit the Top of Waikiki.
I ordered a martini and was served it in a champagne glass . Also what happened to the real lychee in the lychee martini?
Enjoyed a great return visit. Husband loved his Cioppino & my fillet steak cooked exactly to my liking. Service excellent. A lovely evening to celebrate a special occassion.Mahalo
Jonah was incredible! Made our experience that much better
Walking up to the restaurant was elegant. The hosts were nice ad accommodating. It is not super busy during this time in March but I decided to do a reservation anyways and it was recommended by the restaurant staff as well. The steak was tender and delicious. I am not a steak connoisseur but it is hard not to recognize such a good steak. The temperature was on point and the sides were super tasty. My wife had the lobster and she was in love with it. The service was the BEST. Our waiter was attentive, efficient, and nice. We had the best experience ever. We will come back when we make it back to the island.
We arrived for sunset but were seated so by the time our table revolved to oceanside, the sun already set.
We were surprised no bread was served; it's a shame for a restaurant of this caliber ~ not even crackers! Really, how much would this welcoming bite damage their operational budget? Shame!
Everything is ala carte, so its moderately expensive; but this is Hawaii's only revolving restaurant with awesome views and definitely a Special Occassion meal (we had a first-time visitor to entertain who loved the views).
This is my granddaughter's favorite restaurant - she always has the New Zealand salmon and eats ALL of it. We went on March 8 Sunday to celebrate her 8th birthday. She also loves the rib steak and eats at least 50% of her Father's order. We've been going yearly for her birthday and ALWAYS take photos with the most spectacular views in Hawaii. Granddaughter's favorite appetizer is the tater tots - we all love it!
Luckly us.....the evening of March 8 they had 10% off steaks.
The waiter was very patient and helpful in assisting my wife and I in choosing steaks. We’ve been there a couple of times and it’s always great
This restaurant is grate!!
Great food and fantastic customer service.
Nice view of all Waikiki. Go at 5 or 6 PM so you get to see day and night views. Celebrated 3 March Birthday's.
Great view!! We thought the food was good, but not great. Overpriced, but it is Honolulu, so it was somewhat expected.
We went for our 10 year Wedding Anniversary dinner. Food was delicious and view was amazing! A little pricey but deserving for a special occasion. I’d like to do the bar next time and try their happy hour prices with the same views.
Service was extremely slow as we were seated at 6:15 and dinner came at 7:30. Asked our waiter, Chris if they were short handed and he said no. Already knew about the small but tasty portions but didn’t ever experience that slow of service and we’ve eaten there several times. Cake on the molten chocolate cake was very dry and cold while the Molten part was luke warm. Overall disappointing, particularly considering the cost. No communication from our waiter that there would be a delay. Asked how things were then left before he received an answer regarding the staleness of the two desserts
The view was nice. That was it. Not one food item was prepared well.
While we were enjoying our pre-dinner cocktail I ordered our bottle of dinner wine and asked them to open it to let it breathe. The waiter refused to let me sample it unless I surrendered my cocktail. That is sure a first. Something about not serving two drinks at a time. Ridiculous.
Great food and cocktails with excellent service!
We were celebrating a birthday! The steaks were all great and perfectly cooked! It was the Mango Crème Brulee that was the hit of the evening! "Best Crème Brulee I ever had!" We will be back again soon and we know what we are having for dessert! Staff for super friendly and efficient!
The view is beautiful, particularly at sunset and the food was good. Thank you for the meal.
Great ambiance and a great value. Loved the rotation, you get a great view!
Service& food was excellent. The view is wonderful, even on cloudy days.
I would recommend to anyone visiting Waikiki.
What a view from the Top of Waikiki. We dined at the Top with some friends and had a very enjoyable meal. The service was a tad slow, but the staff told us they has several people out that night and had to cancel some reservations.
The view was amazing and the food was delicious
A nice get together with friends for cocktails and dinner
we will be back again
I don’t often write negative reviews but I was rather disappointed with the Top of Waikiki. The setting and the ambience were very good. The food was rather mediocre especially for the price. My wife had the shrimp pasta and it was way salty. I had the New York steak which was served in a shallow bowl which made it difficult to cut. The steak was cooked well but it came out lukewarm. Also be aware that the steaks do not come with any sides. They are à la cart which always irritates me. I would rather them raise the price and put everything on a plate then to do the bait and switch.
Also, our server kind of forgot about us after we ordered and the wine was not at the table when the food appeared which is a cardinal sin in dining. The service was mediocre to bad. I would recommend this place for dessert and coffee because of the view. I would not recommend it as a dining destination.
I visited there to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. When I made a reservation, I commented about that it’s special occasion for us. When we entered the restaurant, the staff and the servers said happy birthday again and again, so we were very happy. Drink was great, food was awesome! Atmosphere was quiet and calm, but it was not very formal. On his dessert plate, there were “happy birthday” with chocolate! It is not cheap actually, but not super expensive. I strongly recommend this restaurant for special occasions, and I am sure it is brilliant experience!
