Top of Waikiki - Revolving Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We went here for a last minute dining to use a GC. The view wasn't as I thought it was, more building to see than anything else. I was just disappointed in the taste of the food. It tasted a bit bland and I wanted to add a dash of salt if it was available. We ordered the NY Steak and salmon, was ok, but just bland to me. The dessert was on point though! Amazing!!
Highly recommend if you have friends from out of town. The revolving restaurant is a unique experience in itself, but really allows you to see all of Waikiki, and how big the city is. Most only see the first or second street directly on Waikiki beach. The interior is upgraded, and the menu has improved since last there. Great experience and much less cost than many of the new high end restaurants in town.
I surprised my husband for his birthday here and we enjoyed it. The food was real good, especially the home made mashed potatoes! The steaks are amazing and our server was awesome as well..the views are amazing and it was nice to talk about memories when we first moved here and staying in town. The rotation in the beginning did make us a little dizzy (it rotated fully in 30 minutes I think) but we focused on other things to distract us..crab cakes and the Hawaii stack was our favorite as well!
We liked the food, the service and the ambience. The revolving restaurant on the 20th floor of the building on the main street in Waikiki offers good but not great views since this restaurant is quite a ways away from the beach and surrounded by other high rises which block the view.
View aside, this is probably one of the oldest foodie restaurants in Waikiki. We tried the Crab cakes, which were moist, dense and delicious. Also their black Pomphret fish - chunky, moist and flavorful. The signature dessert, apple pie is innovative, and the crumbles are absolutely delightful, as is the ice cream. All in all, go for food, stay for the ambience--even if the view is not that great, except at night when you see the whole city lit up.
Great place, I just want to be clear, although food was not as expected. I tried to not be a complainer but I got the ribeye and it was tough. Everything else was great and the manager was nice enough to change it to the filet. They were out of the champagne we wanted to order but not a big deal. Overall good food and great service.
Everything was perfect. My husband chose the poke and the filet mignon. I chose the crab cake and the tuna with macademia crust . It was divine. We ended this delicious meal with the apple tart...wow!!!. .We so much loved this restaurant and we will return next week just before our return at the house.
The food was terrible. For the the amount you pay terribly lackluster. We ordered the crab cakes and my husband has shells all in his portion. His steak was well done when we asked for medium and the asparagus was barely seasoned. The lobster tail was over cooked and tepid. I had the cioppino and it was horrid. The broth tasted like canned tomato soup with chewy calamari and rubbery scallops. Not what we were expecting at all. The waitress was friendly enough, but if you’re looking for good food. Absolutely not.
Great location for a restaurant and we enjoyed our time and the service especially. The food was a little underwhelming, my steak was quite expensive for what it was but we presumed you pay extra for the location of the restaurant. Overall it was a special experience and we won't forget it!
We were so happy to have Darren as our server again. He made great suggestions on drinks. Busy though it got, he made time to be attentive to all the tables he served. The miso-glazed ribeye was offered as a special this month and so we came specifically for that, as we had had it back in the summer when they first offered it as a special. Apparently, it became so popular that they put it back on the menu. For a fine dining restaurant they give a great bang for the buck. Highly recommend Top of Waikiki for a special occasion.
Thankful you were open and to all your staff for working on Thanksgiving. We had a great experience... the food was really good, service from our waitress was excellent, and it was a fun experience with great views. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return. The chefs even accommodated our special dietary needs and the waitress was very nice about helping. Lovely!!!
Thanksgiving Dinner in Waikiki while on vacation. We were seated quickly and the service was overall good. Our dinner was nice as well. We ordered the Holiday dinner which was delicious. Our server was friendly and gave us dinner and drink recommendations.
My only constructive feedback would be to pace the service. Meaning, there is a fine line between making guests feel attended to/anticipating their needs vs. feeling rushed. There were open tables around us so not sure why there was seemingly a desire to move us along through the salad, dinner, drinks, and dessert so swiftly. We were still eating dinner, not even halfway through the meal, holding a nice conversation and the server pardons herself to say - no rush but here is the dessert menu, and the Holiday desserts specials are...A little space and time would have been nice.**We were well under the 2-hour meal cap that was allotted for each Holiday dinner party.
Again, overall good meal and ambiance. And I would recommend to a friend.
Went for Thanksgiving dinner and the special turkey with ham dinner. The meal included mashed potatoes and grilled green beans with stuffing and cranberry sauce. Also a pineapple cobbler. It was incredible tasting.
The service was top notch and they accommodated my wife, who does not eat red meat, by doubling her plate with turkey.
My first time here but not my last. I highly recommend Top of Waikiki for a great dining experience
