Scallops had a shell particle or other hard particle; had to ask for bread, coffee and additional water. All other aspects were good. We have dined at Mandola's several times in the past and this is the first time we have had to leave constructive comments.
Excellent meal and terrific service
Service and food were very good. It’s seafood so it’s a little pricey. My main course was $39.00.
We came to celebrate my Birthday and take advantage of the live music by Vince King. This particular show featured wonderful and familiar songs by Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and other classics. As always, everything was great and consistently good!
First time at this establishment. Met for a friendly business lunch. The atmosphere was great, easy to have a conversation. The food was phenomenal. We both has that day's seafood special, Snapper! Also highly recommend the coconut cream pie! Will definitely be back again.
Great and good service. A very consistent place. Food is always excellent.
Great food and service!!
This is the oiliest and worst linguini I have ever eaten. Not the Tony Mandola's that was once one of the finest Italian restaurants in town. At least, be honest and change the name, so that customers do not think they are eating at the original Tony Mandola's. Maybe you should stick with making Tex-Mex.
The food was excellent as usual. We came for seafood and everyone enjoyed their meal. The gumbo was very good and very consistent from previous reservations. My wife had the red snapper with shrimp and scallops and it was perfect. I had the stuffed shrimp with angel hair pasta. It was perfectly cooked and the pasta complimented the stuffed shrimp extremely well.
There are small portions for the price.
The food was great.
The waitstaff was attentive.
Service was slow and very poor. Everyone’s food was cold when we got it. Too expensive of a meal for slow service and cold food. Pretty disappointed as I recommended eating there to group I was with.
Perfect portion sizes and wonderful food
Restaurant has convenient, free, courteous valet parking. Restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and included lots of New Orleans prints, photos, and memorabilia. Waiter was attentive. Food was beautifully plated and delicious. Subtle improvements to enhance the experience would be: 1- present a butter knife with the complimentary Leidenheimer bread 2- Dinner knives should be sharp enough to cut through the food; 3- When serving pie a la mode, the pie should be warmed, not cold; 4- Have some music playing in the background. We were the first guests of the evening, and found it awkwardly silent. That all said, the meal was really stunning and flavorful. Happy to have tried Tony Mandolas!
Our server, Jason could not have been more helpful and attentive.
This is our GO-TO seafood in Houston. This particular visit we had the usual great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Edgar, our waiter, was awesome. A special shout out to the manager, Chris, for taking care of us. Great job and we appreciate it! See you soon!
Our service was exquisite. My son loved his calamari. We had 4 people. 2 are celiacs. The celiac meals were amazingly good. My husband who ordered a steak said it was just awful. It was undercooked, sinewy and mostly inedible. I saw the grizzle. Because our server was so wonderful, I’m leaving a great review, but that steak. Ugh, it was awful.
We LOVE the food at Mandola's, but the price of our favorites have gone up considerably in the past few years. One favorite is Snapper Martha. I swear a few years ago it was in the $25-30 range. Now it's $43. It's a really good meal, but not worth that much. Now I remember why we don't go there as often as we used to. The Calamari Alla Mama is THE best appetizer ever. I recommend Mandola's, but only if you don't mind spending a lot of $$.
Christmas Eve with family.
There is no better gumbo in all of Houston. The ambiance is relaxed and laid back The service is professional and attentive a delightful place to spend and evening
I’ve enjoyed Tony Mandola’s for many years and will continue for many more years
Mr Mandola personally opened my car door! Now, that’s service
Food was fantastic.
Outstanding. We will return.
Outstanding service and great food. Large brunch portions so had enough for leftovers. Bottomless mimosas we an added bonus.
Our server, Fallon, was wonderful! Food was delicious!
My first time at this restaurant and I had a very bad first impression.
I self parked my car in a space with no valet cones, when I arrived at the door
to enter the restaurant a valet attendant screamed at me you need to give me
your key so I can move your car because you are in a space they needed.
This restaurant needs to train their valet attendants to talk to customers, not
scream and be rude, he could have just asked me to move my car to another space.
Delish food. Fried options but also healthier entrees and appetizers. Good service and a nice interior and decoration.
Took grandchildren to theater to see Miracle on 34th St
We were disappointed with all the dishes except the raw oysters. The salads did not seem fresh. The fish tacos seemed like they were sitting in the kitchen for quite awhile. The food service was slow resulting in some of the items not being warm.. Overall mediocre Brunch.
Delighted to try Tony Mandola's. The food was excellent and the attention from wait staff, caring and prompt.
Haven't been to Tony Mandola's in years... not since the move. Same great food and service! Will definitely be back! They were very accommodating of my vegetarian dining partner and she loved what they prepared for her!
We went to Tony Mandola's Gulf Coast Kitchen for a very special evening. We celebrated a birthday and an engagement. The restaurant and staff made sure that our experience was super special.
We had dinner here with several couples.. The service was very good and the food was delicious. We had a lovely evening there.
Our waiter had as much personality as a wet blanket. I was a little disappointed they didn’t bring out a candle for my moms 80th birthday as I had let y’all know through OpenTable that it was a very special birthday and reminded the waiter! food was great and the desert was comped but cmon!
The trout almandine was great as usual. As was the salad and dessert. Only issue was wine was delivered in a glass with a dirty spot on the base of the stem, and teacup that showed a bit of stain. Service was very good, but management needs to make sure standard for cleanliness is strictly enforced. No one wants his/her appetite spoiled by dirty dishes.
Always enjoy coming to this restaurant. Brought my Scottish son-in-law here - along with other relatives - to have an authentic seafood meal. He loved the food; we all had a nice evening!
Great time with great friends prior to the holiday. Small gathering of family and friends. Great place to share, laugh, and enjoy time to catch up! Not to mention the food was good!
Thank you for the 5 star review!!!
Food and service was excellent. We will go back.
Thank you for the 5 star review! We look forward to seeing you again!
The ambience of the restaurant was lively but very comfortable, we did have a long wait on service from the moment we were seated until we left. The food was outstanding and fresh. The wines were outrageously over priced more than triple.
Thank you for dining with us and for the review. We will work to improving service times. We look forward to having you join us again.
We had a group of three couples for dinner. Everyone enjoyed their entree selections. Service was good and the food was excellent.
Thank you for the 5 star review!!! We look forward to seeing you again!
Nice table, good service, quiet surroundings.
Thank you for the 5 star review!!!
Always a pleasure to share a leisurely lunch with friends at Tony Mandola’s. Food , service, ambiance always consistent and you are never rushed.
