    We wanted to visit this restaurant before they closed, as we heard such good reports. Tony himself greeted us after we were seated and bright us our bread. He was quite attentive to us all evening. The food was fabulous. Loved the blend of Italian and Southern Gulf Coast cuisine! Wish we had been going there for years!

    We no longer live in Houston but heard about this location closing and we wanted to have one last meal there. Oysters Damian, gumbo, stuffed poblano! As delicious as we remembered! Can’t wait to try them at their new location - wherever that may be.

    Xylophone is annoying and sat outside to avoid it. Loved Mandolas in the past but it seems nothing made it to us hot. All medium rare steaks came out medium. Seafood unremarkable and calamari was overpowered by banana peppers. Wine selection limited. $900 for six people but nothing remarkable.

    My Wife and I have always considered atony Mandolas our second home when it comes to eating. When we heard he was closing the Waugh location we were broken hearted. However it was as outstanding as usual. We are looking forward to Tony's next endeavor.

    Good Happy Hour $1.00 oyster. The rest of the food is good if you like fried seafood. Otherwise the non-fried entrees are really expensive.

    We had a fabulous family dinner at this very hospitable restaurant. I’m so sorry to see this place relocating. Everything from the appetizers to dessert was spot on and you can’t beat the friendly atmosphere with Mr.Tommy visiting every table to make sure our dining experience was stellar.

    This was our 3rd visit to Tony Mandola’s and it’s gets better and better on every visit. The Mandola’s are a lovely family who connects with their customers. They are one of our favorite fine dining restaurants with superb food and service.

    We’ve been coming since your last location and have always looked forward to it. They are pricing themselves out though. We can go to a Landry’s or a Longhorn for better service service and drinks than what we had on this visit. First issue. Your bar doesn’t know how to make basic drinks. I ordered a Manhattan no bitters abs got a mediocre at best old fashioned that had no sweetener. My wife’s cosmo was ok. If the waiter or bartender had a question with my order they should have asked. If there was a language issue then that is something management needs to think of when trying to label themselves upscale. Next the pricing of your calamari a la mama is exorbitant. The quality is good but a) we really only wanted the classic fish wish calamari and peperonci and b) $26.00. Next the halibut dish was $45+??? It was great and best green beans I’ve had but at least $10 over priced. If I want to pay that much for fish I’ll go to Vic and Anthony’s or somewhere actually fancy. We came because we thought they were closing for good and wanted to say good bye. If they are able reopen and want to succeed; they need to get servers who can communicate and deliver food and drinks to their guests at reasonable price. Have a drink list that your bar can make. Bar tabs will go up and stop gouging on entrees.

    I have eaten at Mandola’s for years. (Even when it was called gulf coast kitchen and was located at a different location). This family has restaurants all over Houston and they are all fantastic. I have never been disappointed in anything I have ordered.

    A good Father's Day meal. This was our first time and it didn't disappoint. We had a dozen oysters that were just OK. The gumbo and crab cakes were spot on and so was my daughters trout almandine. Bread pudding was fantastic! Service was attentive but not overly done...a nice evening out!

    Food was great as always, but they did not have any wine selection. They were out of the ones we were interested in on the abbreviated wine list. I believe this was tied to Covid and then being busier than expected. I’m sure this will be remedied soon.

    Loved Sopa tomas. Great soup appetizer. The shrimp and artichoke was delicious. Very good pricing for kids meal. Perfect for my 6 year old. Must try the banana key lime pie. i didnt want to share with hubby because it was very tasty. i was hesistant at first but the banana adds a good balance to the key lime.

    Everything was absolutely delicious! And, it was fairly healthy too. Tony Mandola’s never disappoints. I’ve dined here many times and the quality is consistently excellent. There’s no pretense or fussiness here — just classic Gulf Coast, Cajun influenced seafood with mouth watering and intense flavors. The grilled oysters, chopped salad, and the Texas Red Fish Pontchartrain were all delicious! I’m already planning my next visit. Highly recommend.

    The experience was completely different from previous visits. The valet & host were very pleasant,but when we were seated at our table the server was very short and rude about his greeting, our drink orders and appetizers. We were told the fan would be moved & turned on but that didn't happen. Eventually the server did become more friendly. As we began eating it started raining, something out of their control, all over our table. After a few minutes of us and our food being drenched 2 host came to help us relocate. We were moved inside, and eventually given our plates with the puddles of water in them. We waited at the table for a manager or anyone to help. Once someone finally came they didn't offer any assistance to any of my guest other than removing the almost full plates. I had to request my plate be remade and it came out incorrectly twice. No manager ever returned even thought the restaurant wasn't busy. I cut my birthday cake with no plates, forks, or napkins. Since it was obvious no one cared about our experience we paid the ticket including gratuity and left.

    We were in town for a wedding and decided to try Tony Mandola‘a. It was light filled and energetic (extremely noisy) and quite crowded with not much space between the patrons. We could hardly hear each other talk but we enjoyed our meal. Our server was quite busy and didn’t have time to check on us. He made it up to us at the end with a complimentary slice of banana key lime pie but one of us doesn’t care for citrus and would probably have liked something else if asked. We still tipped him generously. Might not dine in again, but would definitely take to go or have ordered.
