Tokyo Bay - Bonita Springs, FL
It’s loud, but that’s to be expected. I didn’t enjoy getting my food items separately: first the rice gets cold before Veggies arrive, then both get cold before the meat arrives. I prefer to eat them together, not one “course” at a time.
Also, don’t sit in the last spot, you will only get the left over amount of food. The last person in our group didn’t get more than a tablespoon of rice. Once we mentioned it , they took rice off another persons plate and gave it to him-even after the person had already started to eat it. That’s bad enough, but during a pandemic?! Really?!
For this kind of service, I don’t feel the prices are justified. Plus, $25+/- for chicken with a little cold rice and cold veggies. Special requests, (such as omit onion, seafood allergies, etc) were not taken seriously.
Lunches are much better.
Wonderful Place. If you’re looking for a great hibachi experience and this is where you want to go. Great food great customer service.
We had a family dinner at Tokyo Bay for New Years. We were pleased that they were able to seat us early and the overall atmosphere was good. The food was very good as well. My only complaint was that I felt they were a little lax on the social distancing protocol. We had a group of 4 and we’re seated right next to another family at the hibachi table. I had thought we’d have at least one chair between families, but that was not the case. Also, some of their servers were not wearing masks. Overall it was a good experience, but if you’re nervous about COVID, I’d skip this restaurant right now.
We had terrible service. It started at the door when we arrived and were told “it will be a few min since you used open table” (this ended up being over 30min)
We saw our waitress a total of 4 times through the meal waiting over 20 min for our initial drink orders. Chef was average for this type of place as was the food. I would note was very clean for a Japanese steakhouse and that other tables appeared to have better servers and service than we did. Would not return though.
A visit to Tokyo Bay has become a tradition with our grandchildren. Everyone leaves happy and well fed.
Great with kids!
Loved our hibachi chef!
Fabulous! We had a great time!
Great food and entertaining for a good family dinner
The head chef was cooking for us and he was friendly and funny!
We had soooo much food leftover, so I’d recommend splitting.
Always enjoy coming here! Best scallops and fried rice! Always ask for James you wont t be disappointed!
Excellent dining experience, very entertaining, would return
Really great food, albeit with a sort of high price tag.
Food was poor taste. Was a lot better in the past. Probably will never go back
The meal was fantastic! Great presentation by Chef James.
Definitely will be back.
Waitress was very helpful and patient when explaining things and answering all our questions. Although there were only 5 people at the sushi bar, we were the only ones at a table and our food took a while to come out. Very sweet and friendly staff. Food was very good.
Not sure if it was the chef's first day but the food and presentation were absolutely awful!! He used ZERO salt, pepper, garlic and a tiny bit of soy on the veggies that he didn't even finish cooking. The food was so bland I couldn't believe all of the good reviews. I would like to discuss something even more alarming...the older lady who may be the owner or manager was walking around the entire time with a mask hanging from one ear and coming as close as possible to all
Of the guests. She also sat people way to close than she was supposed to. Last tome I checked, two chairs in between parties is nowhere near social distancing. It was so uncomfortably close that we asked for our check before we finished to get out of there as fast as possible. Worst hibachi experience ever!!
Hibachi chef great. New waitress good.
Great place for my Girls- night-out B day dinner! Very clean, privat, safe (distance, mask ect).. James very entertaining, waitress little overworked, could have used some help... always a great lace to go!
Fantastic food and service. Can’t wait to go back next time we are in town
Strangest hibachi experience ever. Wouldn’t recommend.
Thank you to chef Janes, the food was amazing!! Loved my scallop and filet mignon! Will come back!!
Soup was a bit fishy tasting and ginger dressing watered down/thin like a soup.
Awesome restaurant, the food was amazing, the chef, James was the best! Can’t wait to go back.
Very tasty sushi and very inexpensive too. Not real crowded at 6:30 when I dined.
Reservation was for 7:15 and was not seated until after 7:50. Our service was not great. Our salads were not brought to our table until we had our dinner almost ready. My wife finished her dinner prior to getting her white rice. And the best part was that the restaurant was so disorganized we were seated and they called us on the phone to be sure we were seated.
Our chef was great and the food tasted as awesome as always.
Wonderful meal. One of the most memorable Birthdays I have had!!
Our food was once again outstanding and our chef very entertaining. Service was very slow.
Orlee the chef was fantastic. Very energetic and entertaining.
It was a very enjoyable evening
Our server was lovely as were all the staff however the food was awful in our opinion. Everything we ate
We sat at the grill and it was as expected. A fun experience with an entertaining chef.
