Tierra del Sol is a restaurant that takes its name from the Mixtec song, a melody that has become an Oaxacan hymn.
Just like that nostalgic song, this place celebrates in its own way the culture of an exceptional people: the Mixtec or ñuu savi; the first does it with her poetry and the second with her food.
Our chef: Olga Cabrera, cook, is the architect of such gastronomic praise, and she achieves it from the knowledge and respect for an ancient cuisine that she inherited from the women of her family and her community, Huajuapan – in the heart of the Mixteca region of Oaxaca -, a knowledge that seasons with his special passion for traditional dishes.

    I cannot recommend Tierra Del Sol enough. Especially if you get a seat on the roof deck. Great food, impeccable service, perfect drinks, and great view. Make reservations and go!

    La Comida NO tiene nada de Sabor! El atole de Planta Baja - pedimos uno de Guayaba y uno de Nanche ambos estuvieron muy ricos, El pan dulce de Planta Baja - Pedimos uno con relleno de Guayaba y otro con Panela y canela - Ambos muy ricos. En el desayuno, la comida no tenía sabor - Enfrijiladas traté de componerlas, pedí sal, salsa etc! Cero sabor! Ni sabían a nada. También pedimos 1 torta de huevo que no es más que un Omelette de igual forma sin nada de sabor! Precios Caros! Mejor Vayan a los desayunos de Criollo o de Casa Oaxaca por el mismo precio! El lugar está súper lindo, con vistas a la entrada del Jardín Botánico.

    For the second time in our experience with finer dining in Oaxaca City, we felt our our dinner was rushed. We did not choose to order any appetizers and we said we were in no rush after our cocktails were served, but still, the entrees came out within minutes and we were finished within a half hour of sitting down!
