terrible experience! we had reservations & we still waited ONE HOUR! after 40 minutes, the owner took us to the bar and provided us with two chairs for a party of four until our tables ready.. no problem. shortly afterwards the “manager” came and pushed us & told us to sit or else we will get kicked out!? 1. you’re making us wait 2. the owner placed us there 3. there are only TWO chairs available for FOUR people 4. you’re threatening to kick us out?!
after an hour wait, we sat at our table and asked if we could add two more chairs to our table & his response was don’t talk to me like a dog. we are never stepping foot into theia again & I will make sure my friends and family don’t go either! the hype will die out with the current management & they won’t have customer in 6 months! every time i have been to theia at least one party has gotten into an argument with the owner due to his management skills!
Music was a little loud. Server was sweet.
I really liked my Theia Toast, which came with a perfectly poached egg. My friend has the burger, which he enjoyed very much - a mixed beef and lamb patty.
The waitress was very negligent. Not once did she ask if we were doing ok. We had to call her over.
We were there for a birthday, the owner was very nice and kept the place alive, constantly approaching tables and making sure everyone was having a good time. Entertainment was ongoing and the place was filled with laughter.
Max (owner/manager) is awesome.......just ask he will make it happen.........The food is excellent, service charming and terrific (Kateana) was a wonderful waitress. Smart, beautiful and our every wish was taken care of....I have invited many of my friends to join us for dinner at this up beat (slightly noisy) great loud music playing...restaurant. Feels like you are in the Mediterranean...awesome belly dancers too!
We will be back many times.....
Theia is such a fun place to eat if you’re looking for an energetic night out, but the food and drinks are really subpar. I went two weekends in a row and it’s easy to be dazzled by the sparklers and DJs but if you really pay attention to the food it’s quite poor. Here’s what I had:
Hummus - good
Baba ghanoush - pretty unpleasant. Kind of made with a charcoal flavor
Htipti -very good
Lamb burger - totally over cooked and unflavorful
Octopus - very bland
Truffle croquettes - bland. Very much needed salt and also more truffle flavor
Taramasalata - good
Beet salad - I didn’t eat this myself but my sister said it was fine
Dr Jekyl - totally bland and small pour
Gin and tonic - gorgeous presentation but quite bitter
Pinot Grigio - fine but small pour
Love letters - fine/good
Beer - both times I went they only had one option of beer, which was bottled Stella.
Cool place to be! Music loud at times you can't hear each other, but, hey, just eat, drink, laugh!
Great restaurant to celebrate any occasion. We were celebrating the birthday of one of the three amigas. Owner and staff were warm and welcoming. Music was exciting and made you want to shake it up. Ambience was great for people watching. We really enjoyed the delicious drinks and food. Amazing hummus, prawns and Theia burger. We especially loved the tasty wine based drink, Petrie Laura. Looking forward to visiting this restaurant for other friend’s get together! Thanks Open Table.
Terrible. Chicken was good but needs to come with a starch. Service was awful and felt like a club. Lots of other places that are much better.
The food and drinks were awesome! Definite favorite for me.
Not like their instagram at all, food was below average, service average, drinks okay. Part of the kitchen is outside of the kitchen because the place is TINY. Hummus bland, grilled octopus and potatoes bland. Disappointed all around, waste of an outfit truly.
They no longer have the cotton drink !
Also the waitress wasn’t attentive at all
I was celebrating my birthday which I listed on my reservation and they disregarded it!
The food was raw and half cooked
The food was really good! Drinks looked as good as they tasted. Had a great time with friends. Service was excellent.
wish they had more options
The food was incredible as well as the service. The staff was so kind and ontop of it we were treated like royalty. The entertainment is next level, they had a dj as well as sparklers for every time there were shots ordered. Overall incredible experience. 10/10
Theia is a lively, almost club-like environment. It’s a vibe! Some menu highlights included the truffle potato croquettes (my fave), spanakopita, and pita with hummus. I wanted to try to clams diane but they were unfortunately sold out. My friend and I decided to ball out and get the $95 steak which was served closer to medium well than the medium rare we ordered. For a place that boasts such a great menu, they should be able to execute a steak! The cocktails were great and they even brought us free shots accompanied with dancing servers carrying sparklers. Like I said, a VIBE!
During dinner, there were belly dancers that danced around the restaurant. It was so cool and unexpected! They enhanced the atmosphere and provided great entertainment. I do wish I had known ahead of time so I could’ve brought cash to tip the dancers.
For dessert we have the coffee baklava and lavender creme brûlée which were both delicious.
This is the perfect place for girls night out or a fun date night! Definitely not a place for intimate conversation or low music volumes.
So much fun! This place is like a club and dinner all in one
Great happy hour, so fun and energetic, don’t go for a quiet romantic date - do go to party!
Absolutely ahhmaazing 💜
The service was very slow. The food was okay, nothing standout
Too loud and cannot hear anyone at my table. Really impossible to enjoy dinning there.
It is EXTREMELY loud. Literally every 15 minutes, they crank the volume of the music to 100 and the staff walk around with sparklers I assume trying to encourage people to order bottle service. This is absolutely the opposite experience one would expect from a Greek restaurant. It’s clear they’re trying to be some sort of hybrid restaurant-club, but the sun was still out and that was definitely not the vibe of the patrons nor does it match the aesthetic of the restaurant. It was literally impossible to hear my friends or have a conversation at the table. We could not wait to pay and leave.
Music too loud, hard to have a conversation. But fun atmosphere. Great singer on a sunday night
overall good place, however whatever we ordered it had to much garlic taste. and the drink we ordered was not so good.
First of all, I want to thank the host and all staff at the restaurant for being so sweet, friendly and accommodating to all of our needs . We came the Theia for Father’s Day and they were slammed! They didn’t let that phase them at all. Their customer service was impeccable, food and entertainment was on point and they definitely gave each and every table a VIP greeting . I would def recommend trying this restaurant.
Great service and atmosphere, owner comes around greets guests and send a cocktail with girls and music similar to club table service. Very cool and different. The pistachio baklava was divine!
Sucks bad food bad energy
It was amazing!
Theia is not consistent o e day it’s great service and vibe. Another night it’s not the best. Overall experience good but needs to stay consistent with service and programming of events.
The eggplant was basically charcoal, and the clams were full of sand.
As bad as it gets!
I love this place. Energy, music, vibes and good drinks
This place has so much potential to become the next best thing in LA . But the food and service were horrible. Would love for them to keep the classic tastes of the Mediterranean instead of giving everything a twist. The meat we got tasted old and was not chewable. I would like to give this place a try when they up their game and their service
We brought our 4 kids and had a great time.
Food was subpar. Music way too loud can barely socialize
Super fun place to spend with friends and get tasty food and drinks.
I had marked and mentioned birthday and there was no mention, no cake as well.
Drinks are pretty good but the food leaves A LOT to be desired. We ordered 4 appetizers, a salad and a main course- they only one with any flavor was the clams main course. Everything else was very bland and bordered on flavorless. The sparkler show is fun the first time they do it but when it happens every 15 minutes it gets old fast. Music and DJ were really good but WAY too loud for a restaurant- more suited for a nightclub experience. Finally, the restaurant has a 90 minute table limit which is totally fine as a rule. However, when the server doesn’t tell you your time limit is approaching and brings another round of drinks only for a hostess to approach you 5 minutes later to tell you you’re over your time limit and other people are waiting for the table while trying to rush you through a $14 gin and tonic, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Take a note from the much better restaurant down the street (Toca Madera) on the proper way to make the 90-minute table turn work.
