It is nice to see The Woodman back on form. Having been though a period of terrible management, the welcome was warm, the staff attentive and well trained and, most important of all, the food (Sunday Roast) was delicious. I am looking forward to seeing how the newly refurbished Pizza oven is doing. We will be back.

As a regular Woodmanite, this meal was very disappointing. Being a local, I regularly eat here and have the same thing, a burger. This time the burger really did not taste up to scratch and the chunky chips tasted like they had been reheated one too many times. My friend ordered a steak pie and got a chicken one and not wanting to spoil our time together, eat that anyway. On the plus side, the ambience is good and the service friendly and great. I will go back at least one more time, so come on Woodman, raise your game.

We go regularly. - food excellent - good value and people in the pub always welcoming and friendly.

Great traditional local with ambient dining space. Went for Sunday lunch and the roast was extremely tasty and comes with our recommendation, while the service could have been a little better. Overall a very pleasant experience and, given its locale, we will be returning

Although we booked weeks in advance and has been at our table for 30 minutes, the staff waited until they were actually taking our order before they told us that none of the 4 dishes that we wanted were available, in fact over half the menu was 'off' due to a busy night before and neither were they serving from their pizza menu.

Very cosy and friendly pub, food was very nice and waiting time wasnt long. Very good pub with excellent service and tasty food.

We arrived for a Sunday roast. As we sat down we were informed there was no roast beef or lamb, only turkey. Instead I ordered a chicken, ham and leak pie off the normal menu to then be told 10 minutes later that this is also not available but they would put something together for me.. My meal came and it was grilled piece of chicken with peas and chips with a sauce.. not exactly what I had in mind! The roast turkey that friends had came on a cold plate and also the turkey was cold! Also there was a Spanish waiter who was extremely rude and forgot to bring water twice.. very basic stuff but a real shame as friends recommended this pub.

This is the first time I have been back to the Woodman since it has been under new management for 2 years. The food is extremely disappointing compared to what it used to be. The chicken liver parfait was not good and the chicken wings greasy with slimy skin. Nice staff but I won’t be going back.
