Being told we must sit at our table due to CV19 regulations which is very fair but when you then see the staff walking around with masks not being worn properly it’s frustrating. On top of that they were all huddled very close at times and a few were touching eachother when speaking.
A gentleman who I think is the manager is very arrogant. Walking around in his pretty pink shirt and shorts looking like a older dad in a bad outfit on holiday.
The food was cold and not fresh and had 1 vegetarian option which was a chickpea burger in a stale bun.
Peaceful terrace over looking the river, the perfect setting
Had a great time here on Saturday night. So easy to order drinks on the app. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Had a lovely day ,staff was very helpful & nice 👍🏻
I booked a table for a Sunday roast and was seated in the bar area, at a high table with high chairs. We had specifically booked for a roast I had requested a dining table, and had hoped for a dining table by the river. When seated and I asked to be moved to a dining table, I was told there were no tables available. I found the staff to be quite unhelpful and unaccommodating. Our bar table was directly opposite the entrance to the toilets, and smelled. As it was simply not a suitable table for us to be able to enjoy the Sunday roast we had booked we walked out, and managed to get a table for a Sunday roast in another venue that afternoon. We were extremely disappointed as we had been looking forward to our Sunday roast in this pub.
As we didn’t dine in the restaurant, I cannot comment on the value or quality of the food, hence my 1 star for both as I had to provide a review for both.
Some of the servers were a bit rude & grumpy but we also had two really nice servers - so a mixed experience with the servers!
All good. Good beer, great food, good vibe. Just a shame the atmosphere is hindered a bit by covid. But rules are rules!
They put us on the top with 3 people who were watching football. It was not the cozy place we expected. We were abandoned up there and we didn't feel welcomed. The guy who attended was not nice to us, even though he had a reservation. The girl was attentive and friendly. We were served in the second round with plastic cups, not inviting to return.
Great for a Sunday Roast - and it was a sunny day., would definitely be back.
Table/app ordering would make it even better
We stopped here for a Sunday roast and the food was lovely but the portion size in comparison to the cost is very small. Also if you are eating in I think there should be a table service as the queue to get to the bar was huge and unorganised which I felt could of been organised better by the staff/manager. I live the setting by the river and the bar is done out to a really high standard. Will come again.
Very friendly staff and good food too. In current climes nice to be able to sit outside. We made a reservation but it appears to be a relaxed Pub with a fair bit of outside seating.
Loved it - best pork belly ever! We’ll be back! Great location and river view
Great food, amazing service and in such a lovely area, can't wait to go again
Excellent food and service
Long wait time for food
Sunday lunch was really excellent - tasty, good portion, hot and came in good time, impressive.
Service a bit odd - waitress served us whole time wearing mask underneath her nose despite us asking for her to put on correctly. No point in wearing it if it’s wrong. Also, plates were cleared while people were still eating which is a massive pet hate of mine, and is surely one of the first things you learn as a member of wait staff.
We have been trying out different roast dinners at various pubs and so far out of the 5 we have tried this was hands down the best. Thoroughly recommend the roast beef. Meat was cooked perfectly, tasty veggies, A1 Yorkshire puddings and just the right amount of gravy. Going back again soon.
Good value, friendly and helpful staff. All in all a good evening
Nice food and good service.
Would definitely recommend.
Roast was amazing! Food came out at different times but overall great place
Amy the barmaid was friendly and looked after us. She makes a fantastic gin and tonic with lemon ice and strawberries.
Good atmosphere. Friendly staff and good food. Nice place for a drink and dinner.
Really lovely pub. Friendly service and good food.
Friendly staff relaxed atmosphere, nice view of the river. Menu quite small but good.
The new William Morris Pub has a nice selection of burgers and fish and chips, plus a kids' menu. The new owners have done a great job brightening this pub up, which is unrecognisable from the previous pub. It's a lovely location next to the Wandle too and there is a nice outside area for when the weather warms up.
Brilliant Sunday roast and really lovely staff and service. Will definitely be back!
