I love the wines at South Coast Winery, and our resort stay was for a special occasion, so why not dine in at the resort restaurant? The decor is a bit... antiquated. Think old time steak house with darker carpeting and upholstery, weird lacquered table tops that could have used linens. But the raised wood ceiling is nice, and wall decor is serviceable. I think they could update without too much hassle. The foos was yummy, the wines are solid, the service is ok. It’s not in the hotel, but is just a short walk across vineyards to the same building as the winery. All the better for walking off extra alcohol before bed.
Wait staff very attentive! Food was AMAZING!
Great service from the bar server, hostess, and waiter staff! Very good food at a reasonable price. We will return, thank you!
Salmon and steak were not great! .. I would take a pass.
It was worth the drive. Food and service was fantastic.
Food was average and way overpriced. Service was good, but not at a level of such an expensive restaurant
Birthday. Seated outside on a beautiful day.
Place is beautiful. Been wanting to go for a while. But was extremely disappointed with the chilaquiles From On the menu. It was just chips and salsa on top. When I asked Why, 2 waiters also agreed that’s not how chilaquiles are cooked and they were going to talk to “chef” I don’t think it takes a “chef” to put chips and salsa on top. Waiter had an “assistant“ as he called it if we needed anything, but they were very hard to find so we had to get another waiters attention. For the place and price I expected little better. Sorry won’t be coming back or suggest this place to anyone.
We have eaten at this restaurant several times. Unfortunately this will be our last time. The food was terrible. the Shrimp appetizer was most definitely frozen shrimp and did not taste horrible but for the price was not worth it at all. I had sea bass and it was fishy and I sent it back. The lamb was not fresh either although it was eaten by 2 of our guests. Sadly it seems the food quality has really gone down and for the price it is not somewhere we will go again. Vineyard Rose needs to step it up and change what they are doing!
Wonderful birthday dinner location. Staff was attentive without being intrusive. Food was excellent but a tad pricey. Love this location for special occasions. Definitely recommend this location if you’re planning to dine in Temecula Wine Country.
Great atmosphere. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Fantastic wines.
Special place to have lunch!
The food and atmosphere was outstanding. The tables are setup with lots of space between them so it is very quiet. The high ceilings and lots of wood finishes gives a wonderful atmosphere. The food especially the prime rib is outstanding. The service levels are very high.
Everything was wonderful. We are locals, but wanted a special location to celebrate a wonderful day. I highly recommend this romantic setting.
We celebrated our anniversary there this year and as always to food and service is top notch. South Coast Winery & Vineyard Rose has to be one of the top dining experiences on your to do list.
Perfect. beautiful restaurant with high ceilings. service was excellent, prompt. calamari and lobster mac was delicious. our main entree’s were made perfectly. Filet mignon and sea bass. My kid loved the pasta as well:)
Great food, good service, super ambiance, will return.
We did not feel the quality of the food was very good. One of the dishes was Risotto and it was over cooked and no flavor . The rest of the meals were just ok as well
We have been to The Vineyard Rose three times, and have always enjoyed the experience. The food and overall ambiance are great, but service was not up to par on our last visit. We checked in with the hostess 5 minutes early for a 7:30 pm dinner reservation, and were asked to wait just a minute while the staff sets up the table. Not a problem, that is totally normal. We were not seated for 15 minutes - in the meantime, at least 5 couples checked in for 7:30 pm reservations and were seated immediately, with the hostess telling us each time she would be right with us. Around the 7:40 pm mark, the hostess was walking around the bar area, asking every table if they had been helped, or if they needed anything. Meanwhile, my wife and I are standing in the reception area still waiting to be seated for our 7:30 reservation. The hostess finally came over to us and asked me to (for the third time) remind her of the name on our reservation, at which point we were finally seated at 7:45 pm, with no apology or explanation.
Once we were seated, our server was very pleasant, though she only stopped by our table every 10 - 15 minutes. We were not able to order our food until almost 8:30 pm.
As I said, the ambiance and food were great, but the service was lacking. We typically are patient and flexible, having both worked in food service, but it was disappointing and frustrating to wait 15 minutes for our reservation when other couples with the same reservation time to walked in after us were seated immediately. It was not as though there was a big rush that would explain our wait - parties trickled in one at a time, were seated immediately, and the hostess would only reappear when the next party walked in so she could seat them immediately.
Always the best. Fantastic food and great service.
We had an amazing experience. It was our first time here and the service and food were beyond our expectations. We enjoyed the Pork Loin and Sea Bass. Added a Wedge Salad, which was the best Wedge Salad I have ever had and Caesar Salad. For dessert we had the Infused blackberry brownie. Our evening was peaceful and the waiters attentive and accommodating at all times. Would highly recommend. We will be back.
Great anniversary dinner place
Interestingly, our only negative comment about the evening is the coffee...My wife had a Cappacino and I had a decaf coffee...both tasted like dishwater...not bad...but HORRIBLE!
There are many quality coffees available and some fairly local roasters as well...my suggestion is that you upgrade your coffee and instruct your servers how to properly brew.
I'll test it on our next visit...
Honestly, I felt the food was expensive, and basic. The ambiance of the venue is very nice and clean. Also, If you're going on a weekday you don't have to worry about making a reservation. I wouldn't recommend eating here unless you want to lounge for hours and get tipsy on wine.
The grounds surrounding the restaurant are beautiful. We ate outdoors on the terrace, a party of 5 that included 2 children. The menu was interesting, the prices were reasonable, and the food was very good. The service was outstanding. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Great Brunch. Beautiful atmosphere. Fantastic service
Great food, wonderful ambience. Perfect setting for a night out (or for breakfast too!)
Booked early dinner for two with a request for a quiet spot in the restaurant. Yes we did get perfect table, comfortable seats and quiet corner( it was Super Bowl night-not too busy).
Waiter Christina? was super nice and very attentive.
Food was good but not exquisite, definitely with a lot of room for improvements.
My husband got lamb of rack dish, meat was done to his liking but the rest: polenta and ratatouille was just ok, nothing spectacular for the price
I had mushroom risotto, taste was good, but it was too creamy (waitress mentioned that it’s creamy, before I place my order)it could use more spices/herbs to my liking. We also had two side orders, wild mushrooms and roasted Brussels sprouts, both dishes were excellent. For dessert we had créeme brûlée (it was too thick more like putting not cream, but with a nice thin layer of caramelized sugar) and complimentary (for a birthday guest) ice cream with whipped cream(not home made for sure)
I would give 3-4 for food but 5 for service.
Everything was perfect. Probably the best prime rib I’ve had ever.
The food and the service was outstanding. The pork loin was the best I have ever enjoyed. Everything was prepared perfectly! Our compliments to the chef and the entire staff.
Very good, beautiful ambiance
We make the vineyard rose our yearly anniversary dinner place. Food is great, as is the wine. Never have had a bad experience
Very nice dinner in all aspects. Good menu.
This is your typical high end restaurant with big prices and small portions. I would expect in a place like this that the food would be great, but it wasn't. My wife had a Caesar Salad and asked them to take it back. She said it tasted like store bought salad dressing. I tasted it and it was very bland. I've had much better Caesar Salad dressing at other places. I ordered the scallops which cost $38.00. I got 3 large scallops on a flat patty made of carrot with a ton of lettuce on top. The scallops were a "B" and the portion was certainly not enough. My wife ordered the Sea Bass. She said it was "OK". I tasted it and it was very bland and had a fishy taste. Again, it was a small portion with a couple of gold yukon potatoes. It was my birthday so they gave me a scoop of vanilla ice cream. That was nice of them but vanilla ice cream in a high end restaurant. Really (that made it special (Not)). The service was good and the waited friendly.
First time for dinner-did not disappoint. Excellent service, beautiful dining room! Will definitely recommend and return. Thank you
Have never, ever been disappointed when coming
to this fine restaurant . So sorry we missed visiting when the VR is decorated for Christmas.
We have been coming here for several years now and the food and service have always been outstanding. Only once, there was a very large conference tying up the kitchen staff and creating a longer wait time for other diners. Manager came by to apologize and offered to comp dessert.
Recommend highly for their food , service and lovely ambiance.
If you want to seat in a booth and enjoy a romantic dinner, you will have a great time!
We found The Vinyard Rose overpriced for the quality of the food. I had chicken that was overcooked and chewy. The staff were excellent and the ambiance nice but the food is just okay.
