Very very good!
Food wasn’t very good and the service was fair.
Great quick food very nice service
As usual, the meal was fantastic. The service was great.
Beautiful setting, friendly staff, good wine selection, however traditional thanksgiving menu food was less than previous meals. Food was very average, lacking in presentation, quality and taste. Website was deceiving, expected four course Thanksgiving menu during day time meal, but it was only available after 5pm. Most restaurants offer either a buffet or set holiday menu throughout the day.
The only thanksgiving care offered focused on quantity versus quality. Would go back for ambiance, service and general lunch/dinner events, but not for a holiday.
The thanksgiving dinner was fabulous and the serve was amazing.
Turkey tasted it came from frozen dinner box. The salad was edible and so was the dessert. Very disappointing since we travelled so far.
Went for Thanksgiving brunch and it was just OK. The food wasn't as good as I remembered and the simple things, my wife ordered the turkey dinner and there wasn't a roll. I had the huevos rancheros with no tortillas, rice or beans. I caught one of our servers over watching football......
This place was incredible! Nathan was our waiter and Byron was here to help and we fill our cocktails and tea.
The restaurant inside was absolutely gorgeous but because it was such a beautiful day we chose to sit out on the upper patio.
We tasted some white wine, had a Florentine grilled cheese sandwich with tomato bisque and a tri-tip sandwich with caramelized onion and tomato relish.
It was so fun, I WOULD recommend going because Sam Carter who is the entrepreneur actually started this incredible vineyard
It was our anniversary and had put that in “reservation details” and that we requested a table away and kind of private. Waitress/server put us right next to a large loud group. Waitress not very personable and seemed to rush us. We mentioned our anniversary and she never said anything about it. We spent well over $100 for our meal and it definitely didn’t feel special. As soon as we ate meal she brought the check. I really thought this would be a great place to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary. Was definitely disappointed. Will be leaving review on Yelp.
We were seated and no one came to greet us for a long time. A manager finally came over and took our entire order. He asked if we were celebrating anything special and we told him our 25th anniversary. When our server did finally make it to our table, she was obviously uninterested in doing her job. Service was horrible. Food was not as described on the menu and just ok. The water guy was excellent - never had an empty glass. When we asked for the check we were told their system was down so she had to hand write the check. We pointed out that the 2 drinks we had at the bar weren’t on the check and our server seemed more annoyed at having to fix the check rather than thank us for our honesty. The check came back without a pen. We asked for one and she said she still needed to run our card through. She took our card and the check but then when it came back the amount was $20+ higher. The manager was no where to be seen at that point. Rather than wait for her to return and explain the difference we reduced her tip, which she didn’t even earn in the first place. While all that was going on, another server was within earshot swearing and crying about another server. Someone finally realized we could hear the commotion and how unprofessional it was and told her to move into the back. No one ever did acknowledge our anniversary, which was disappointing. At least a scoop of ice cream would have been nice. We could have gone to Chili’s and gotten better service, better food, and they probably would have given us a special treat for our anniversary. This was an expensive dinner and definitely not worth it - a waste of our hard-earned money. A total disappointment !!
Our service was great, the entrees were delicious and the wine was superb. The only issue was a very loud group in the bar that kind of lessened our enjoyment. At times we couldn’t hear each other due to the volume of the rowdy bar patrons. They stayed during our entire meal. When you pay this much for dinner, you expect a classier atmosphere. Maybe South Coast should consider putting up some walls for the bar because I know you can’t really control this type of noise level and bar patrons.
Lovely meal, excellent service, great time with friends. Always a treat!
We went for our first anniversary. Food was delicious, had a small hiccup, but it was fixed immediately.
Celebrating our 60th birthdays.
Food was ok and service was very slow. Waiters were nice, but it took a very long time to get our food.
Service was bad and we had to constantly look for our waitress. The food was not prepared to our liking and the menu is very limited.
Our wedding anniversary, Birthday ‘s, my Daughter wedding anniversary
Nice menu, but food arrived cold and over an hour after we were seated until the appetizer came. Drinks were not refilled and server had to be flagged down after we sat ready to go for over 15 minutes. Just really unfortunate service.
Food is always good, prices are reasonable and a great break from wine tasting. Reservation highly recommended and it's very rare we can't get in. I love to plan ahead to make sure I get a little something to help with all the wine.
Sat outside on the patio. Waited a while for our orders to be taken and then for our water to arrive and again for our food. Food was fair; nothing outstanding. We probably won’t return.
Great... good service & wine
I will start by saying the food was delicious and the staff was courteous. The gentleman clearing the plates and filling our water glasses was an A+ team member. Our server was nice but not attentive at all. We had ask several times for refills. She clearly forgot our salads and never checked in to see if we needed anything or asked if we were happy with our food. Since we were a party of 8 - the tip was automatically applied. We didn’t argue - we understand that it’s policy... but we did wonder if she was no where to be found for most of our dinner it might be because her tip was guaranteed? Kind of a bummer. 17 year wedding anniversary dinner with friends, we will likely choose another place next year.
Food was fantastic and such a beautiful restaurant indeed!
Will be back for more!
Enjoyed celebrating my daughters birthday dinner outside on the patio. Food was good as always and enjoyed a nice glass of South Coast Wine. Service was very attentive and very friendly. Great Evening all around.
We are just disappointed every time we come here. The food is good but the service overall is always just bad. We have been here several times and it’s just not worth the money. The next night we had an amazing meal at a local place and had amazing service for half the price.
We went to this restaurant for a birthday celebration. This expensive restaurant was too cheap to even offer a simple little birthday dessert but only sell you one of their expensive desserts. Also, this is a winery but they could not even fulfill a wine order of their own wine listed on the wine menu. We’ve been coming here a long time but we’ll have to rethink this.
We were seated too close to a noisy group, and they soured an otherwise good evening for us. Never sit next to a table for eight or more!
I ORDERED THE SEA BASS AND WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED: VERY THIN SLICES, WITH THE SKIN ON!! A FEW POTATOES FOR VEGGIES.
Always enjoy the Vineyard Rose when we stay. Whole property is our favorite staycation spot as we only live 30min away.
We love this place’ we come once a year and spend the night. Then we come several times a year for wine tasting and the prime rib!
Food is great’
The food at the Vineyard Rose @South Coast Winery is awful !!!!
We started with burrata W/prosciutto ... the cheese was very dense.
It did not have a creamy liquid center. We said let’s hope this is not a bad sign.We were hopeful
Husband had the filet Mignon w/ port wine reduction.
It was just good.
For the price it should have been great.
I ordered the scallops... tasteless and soft. Was not seasoned well,
Sent the dish back.
I then tried the chicken. How do you mess up chicken .
Very dry and slathered with sauce.
Sent the dish back.
I finally had shrimp cocktail and salad.
Dessert chocolate brownies... Cold right out of the fridge
The best part of the dinner was our servers: Kathleen and Jose.
This restaurant is very pricey and not worth your time,
It was our Anniversary
They had advertised everywhere brunch until 3pm on weekends but they did not have it. Breakfast stopped at 11am and they just served lunch after that. There credit card machine was down for 4 days apparently and so we had to get cash out of the ATM to pay. Nothing was done for any of these inconveniences.
There system was down so they didn’t do brunch on Sunday. We drove all the way from Rancho Cucamonga just for Sunday brunch. We left and went else where since they stopped breakfast at 11am on a Sunday. Every where else was booked up, so it ruined our day.
Other than the system shutting down for the entire weekend leaving us no option but to get a front desk worker to walk us to our room every single time we entered i say it was a great experience for my girlfriend and I.
We had worst service, someones last day, forgot our drink order, was constantly delayed.. dinner was not even close to previous dinner quality.
We enjoyed our entire experience at The Vineyard Rose. We enjoyed 3 meals over the weekend and each one was superb. The dishes were well executed and beautifully plated, with flavor combinations that blended together and complemented the entire offering. The service was outstanding: pleasant and accommodating. We look forward to returning!
We had a wonderful experience visiting the Vineyard Rose. Everything was fantastic!
Our dining experience was a nice, relaxing time. There was no rush to get us fed and out the door. I enjoyed the pork chop dinner that came with two huge pork chops and I ordered a side of mashed potatoes that came in a good sized bowl. It was a dinner my wife and I could have split. We both ordered a side salad but our waiter suggested we split one because of there size and it worked out perfectly. I can't remember what the wife ordered but she cleaned her plate, and she is not a big eater. We ordered a bottle of South Coast wine and it was delicious. The service was spot on and the ambiance was just right for a quiet night out. Even though the price was a touch on the high side it was well worth it.
