Very nice physical space and ambiance. Very attentive service, maybe a little too many inquiries about whether we needed anything. Would have liked to have the shrimp and grits on the menu that had just been replaced to have another cooked seafood option. Shrimp shumai was excellent. Toasted bread with the ham and olive dishes I ordered could have been a bit warmer.

Had a perfect early light meal at The Vault before heading across the street for a theatrical performance. Buzzy atmosphere in the lobby of the trendy boutique hotel Liberty Reserve. They feature a tapas type menu with lots of fun items to try. Beautiful presentation and all that we tried were delish. My GF friend had plenty of options, too. The cocktails stand out and the servers were all friendly and efficient.

Come prepared for cramped bar accommodations. Table too small to enjoy a meal and lighting to dim to read a menu (that already has tiny print). Service was a bit ‘clunky’, although very friendly. food was fine and creative, although not nearly value compared to what else is available in Downtown, Roanoke (e.g., Sidecar, Lucky).

Great food with an epicurean selection coupled with a vibrant bar all set in a very well decorated old bank with a 1920s feel. My wife and I started at the bar and enjoyed a selection from their cocktail menu. For dinner we switched to wine. They provide a very suitable and eclectic listing. We then shared a set of appetizers, the Caesar salad, the khachapuri, and the steak tartar. All were exceptionally well prepared. For dessert it was espresso and a slice of hummingbird cake. We were there on a Friday night and all seats were taken. I'd advise reservations. Vibrant city scene. The one comment I would make is that the seating is more akin to a cocktail lounge than a formal dining room. It's fun but not traditional.

This isn't really suitable as a restaurant. Seating and tables are the issue. As a nightclub or bar it is outstanding. Loved that vibe. Will be back for drinks and small plates. Dinner is best elsewhere

The food was amazing and our server was great. However, some disheveled cook was hanging out behind the bar with a similarly disheveled bartender, and they were staring at our table for an uncomfortable period of time, and the staring was not friendly. It was bizarre and off-putting. You don't pay the prices demanded by this restaurant to feel that way while you eat, so I won't be back. It's too bad, as the food and setting were top-notch...

The hotel and restaurants are located in a previous old bank building. Eclectic menu organized in an unusual way. No appetizers or entrees per se just listings of dishes available, mostly big enough for sharing more or less. A good selection probably wide enough to please almost everyone. A bit on the expensive side. And yes you can eat in the bank vault if it already isn't taken. Alcohol drinks are available but a bit thin on liqueurs.

Interesting and creative food and terrific wine list with all choices available by the glass plus flights if you like. Staff were helpful and the space is unusual. Just a delightful surprise to find this place!

The atmosphere and decor make this such a neat place to visit. The cocktails were delicious and all the staff seemingly knew that we were there to celebrate our anniversary. We shared 3 plates and loved every bite! We won't be waiting for another anniversary to come back. Highly recommend!

We celebrated a wonderful anniversary at the vault! The host greeted us warmly with a verbal congratulations and informed us we’d be dining in the actual vault for dinner. It was set-up for a celebration for two. Glitter was flowing! We started with some complimentary champagne that was very nice. Enjoyed a few cocktails while taking in the vault and it’s history. The beef tar-tar was served tableside and was excellent. We then had some hamachi for a second appetizer. Both were excellent! We then split the Peking crispy duck. It was served with rice and broccolini. The duck for not being an Asian restaurant was surprisingly good. Nicely seasoned with 5-spice and other aromatics. Definitely would get it again. The service was excellent from start to finish. It was a wonderful experience.

We enjoyed our first dining experience at The Vault. The menu is exotic and different, which makes the restaurant unique in Roanoke. The food was very good and well priced. My wife and I did order too many plates. In retrospect, I would suggest that two people order maybe three small plates or maybe one entree plate and two small plates. The wait staff is young and not as professional as some of the better restaurants in Roanoke, but everyone was friendly and courteous. We will definitely be going back, perhaps when they change their menu for the Fall or Winter.

We enjoyed the varied menu. Service was exceptional. We were glad that we requested a high top table for dinner. I would have enjoyed an IPA in the draft offerings. Dessert was delicious. All in all, we had a good time with our friends!

Just moved to the area. Trying out a bunch of restaurants and the Vault was such a cool vibe. I brought my mother and grandmother to experience new and different food and it exceeded expectations. There's something for everyone and the cocktails were perfect. I'm definitely going back!

Very special, unique dining experience! We were greeted by name when we showed up for our reservation. We were seated in the VIP Vault room to celebrate my husband's birthday and we were offered complimentary champagne. The service is the best I've ever expereienced in Roanoke. We did the exclusive Vault wine tasting--which was fabulous. We had the Fun with Cheese plate, the Shumai, the Gai Lan, the Khachapuri, and the Peach Bread Pudding. We were stuffed despite only eating tapas and everything was delicious. The cocktails were also great. Highly recommend!

This is an amazing experience that far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we checked and were greeted by house manager, Dexter, to our server, Kelee through small interactions with other waitstaff, everyone was professional, competent, and interested in providing great dining. We indulged in three dishes-the Caesar salad, properly dressed and quite tasty, a descendent ooey-gooey cheesy dip from Georgia, and Dan Dan noodles, spicy with the right amount of heat. We were treated to a pot de creme, dark chocolate topped with sweet cherries and a side of whipped cream, that was a sweet ending to a perfect evening. The atmosphere is relaxed and elegant. Make reservations and enjoy the moment!

Service was absolutely outstanding, by everyone there! We order three different small plates and they were each wonderful. We especially loved the steak tartar, it was melt in your mouth good. This definitely at the top of our list for favorite places in the Roanoke Valley, especially for a date night/special occasion. We will be back!

We sat at the bar. The drinks were superb and the bartender was fun and social but not intrusive. We ordered four plates and each was beyond our expectations. They’re major metropolitan prices, but the quality of ingredients, composition and presentation support it. I had the old fashioned, my husband had the Bordeaux, we had the jamon, Caesar, Korean short ribs, and wings. The food leans spicy, but not too hot to enjoy. Worth getting off 81 for sure.

Amazing food! The Georgian cheese bread was a meal in itself. You need to try it - there is nothing like it around here. Delicious!! Crab dip with toast points was also delicious as was the ginger broccoli. The downside was that it was 45 minutes before we received our food. Still giving five stars because they were very apologetic, comped part of our meal, and gave us a free dessert. The kitchen is tiny so it’s not quick. I would recommend that they have some gourmet cheese and crackers or a cold amuse bouche on hand for when the kitchen is backed up. I was delirious and hangry by the time our food arrived but it was worth the wait! Also very cute decor.
