The Stinking Rose
Such a Gem to find among so many chain restaurants. This place stands alone, as being unique and original.
I had a reservation and requested a booth but was told there was non and if I wanted to go to the bar where there was a bunch I could seat myself. The hostess looked like she hated her job and I felt like what was the point for the reservation then? Service was okay we sat in the bar where it was empty and the people that came in the bar after us got their food and drinks out so quick before us . Good thing the food was good and I do want to come back and try more things on the menu .
The ambiance was fun and decorated nicely , and although it was crowded, you still felt like it was very intimate. The main course took a little longer than expected to arrive, but the appetizers did not disappoint. The one thing I would definitely encourage to change is the valet/parking process. We waited over 25 mins in the cold to get our car and unfortunately as more people kept coming out from the restaurant we were all being pushed (like cattle) to stand out on the uncovered sidewalk, there weren't any heaters to help keep warm with the cold evening temperatures. And although the valet workers were working their hardest , there has to be a better and more efficient way to help with that process.
It was the day after Valentines Day and the place was very busy but the services was not that good. We had reservations but they made us wait in line with others that did not have reservations. We had to ask for bread whereas the other tables just received it. We ordered but never received french fries though it was on the bill, waiter did not split salad as we had asked him to so we split it ourselves using our bread plates. The couple next to us where seated five minutes after us but they received their food and drinks and everything before us. I ordered the chicken and it was small and just okay but it cost $29.99. My wife ordered Salmon and hers, too, cost $29.99 and she liked her more than I liked mine. The cost though was too much for what we received. I don't mind paying a little more for dinner but I expect the service to be better if I am going to drop that much. The Stinking Rose is a tourist trap. I always wanted to go there and finally did, and will not be back.
Food was served cold, ordered Rib eye and Prime rib. It was good though. Had them reheat it again. Server took a long time to come around. Took a long time giving our check. They made us pack our left overs ourselves. Valet was chaotic. Prob took 30 mins to get our car.
Wonderful manger was excellent!! He took our order & made sure we were waited on constantly. Waitress was excellent as well.
What a fun place serving my favorite tasty and savory spice!
It was Valentine's weekend, so I knew what I was signing up for. Very busy, but our server handled things well.
It was great overall
Our server was great very attentive and our food came out quickly. Everything was delicious. Check in was quick and seated promptly. This restaurant never disappoints.
The tables were a bit too close together. But the service and food was amazing. I only with the rum cake portion size was bigger. Everything was so delicious.
Was quite busy but understandable due to being Valentine’s Day. I am so impressed on how the whole staff was ready for Valentine’s Day weekend, everything was so smooth, there was a line getting in but wait was not as bad as I thought.
Our waiter Mario was very knowledgeable with the menu was nice enough to answer our questions on the menu for my date who has not been.
Food was awesome and came out pretty quickly.
We had orders the sea bass and prime rib. My date said every bite on the prime rib was amazing. Lastly we tried their famous garlic ice cream and it was to die for!
Experience overall was just perfect!
Already had a terrible experience before arriving to the restaurant. I wanted in my car for 20 minutes in order to get my car into valet. Also I booked at this restaurant for valentines day for special occasion. They squeeze two tables into one cabana which provides no privacy. Our server, Aaron, was terrific customer service and the food was great. The environment of the restaurant was awful, therefore I would never go back to this restaurant again.
I love you guys.
Server kept pushing us to order, kept rushing us to order, eat and leave. Reception staff very unfriendly. Valet service on website says $7.00, was charged $10.00. Took 15 minutes to get our car and not friendly. We spent $170.00 there and feel they were not appreciative at all.
Will not return, will tell friends and family not to go here.
The bread wasnt fresh the waiter was way to busy with other things when she took our order she had dirty dishes in her hand
This particular time the waitress was very nice and patient. The food came out quick and hot! It was a pleasure to be there. And the parking was good too. I didn’t have to wait for a long time.
It was nice, but we were very rushed by the waiter. By the time our appetizers came out and we had maybe two bites our main course was out, forcing us to get the appetizers to go. We won’t be going back. It was Valentine’s Day with a 4:30 reservation and we had our check by 5:15.
Service was fast and enjoyable. Wait staff was attentive and very friendly. The ambiance of the dinning room was calming.
Had very high expectations for this place, as it's on the same row of restaurants as Lawry's and other nicer establishments. It was very disappointing to walk into a place with uncomfortably dim lighting, kitschy decorations, and lackluster hosts and wait staff. Overpriced and underwhelming food.
Every time I’ve eaten here I’ve tried something different and it’s always delicious!
I’ve always come to expect amazing times at this place. Everything is wonderful, from the people to the food. The prices are amazingly approachable for being in BH haha. I look forward to coming back, as I always do! The themed interior is a view in and of itself! I finally tried the garlic ice cream, it’s worth the risk, try it! Thank you!
Everything was great but my 40 clove chicken could have been better, it felt kinda basic and honestly undercooked
It’s a very nice restaurant. Not loud and a great place to have dinner or any other occasion that you are celebrating. The food is very good and the people working there are very nice and attentively. Will go back soon.
Not for foodies. I didn’t realize this was a gimmicky sort of place. I thought it was a real restaurant that just used lots of garlic. The only thing I found edible was the sautéed garlic, but it was divine. Would be great for kids or non-foodie tourists. Service was excellent though. And the ambiance is kitschy-fun.
We would definitely go there again! The service was great, the food was delicious
Enjoyed a birthday dinner for my cousin. Food was excellent, very tasty.
Food was pretty good, but the restaurant is kinda goofy.
Great atmosphere, great service and delicious food! Love the garlic offerings and was wowed by the garlic ice cream. Can't wait to visit again!
To good is not as good as I remembered it to be years ago.
Very attentive service made for a wonderful, pre-show dining experience. The fact they let you leave your car there when attending a performance at the Saban made it the perfect choice. That made everything so much easier and added to the enjoyment of the night.
Awesome bar with music and the best ribeye I’ve had in long time
Great quality and very tasty. Nice staff. Free corkage will get me coming back often. So smart of them to offer that.
The service and the food was amazing !!!
The food was delicious and the price was right. Also, the service was on point: timely and respectful. I’ll definitely return.
My Fillet Mignon was perfectly cooked as usual. I always love the mussels. I received excellent friendly service from the entire team. Thanks!
Our server was great, the decor unique – but you can’t eat wallpaper. The food was OK but woefully overpriced. Very very limited menu, especially for lunch.
My last night out in LA, me and my group had dinner here and the food was amazing! I ordered the fettuccine with modifications, including chicken and alfredo sauce and I was pleased at the wait staff’s willingness to accommodate this request. One possible con would be that we went near closing and the service was a bit slower than expected. Otherwise, I would definitely return during my next visit to LA!
Great steaks, seafood, appetizers in a setting that's fun but still allows you to converse with your dinner companions. The vanilla sundae was surprisingly good--tasted like homemade ice cream and served at the perfect temperature with no melting or crystallization. It may seem silly to talk about something as simple as a vanilla sundae when they also do wonderful grilled seafood platters and excellent steaks, but it's actually rare to see something so basic executed so well. Stinking Rose continues to impress.
