The Sheridan Livery Inn and Restaurant
Service was horrible, not at all attentive and they were not busy. Plates were VERY small servings especially for the price...
None of our party enjoyed the evening out, our last visit.
Friendly waitstaff; food was delicious. Fellow diners enjoyed their meals as well. The only negative is lack of parking.
I asked our waitress to give you our comment card. Our son went to VMI class of 2003 and played football. We were from Arizona and flew in for all the home games for 4 years and stayed at your Inn and had many meals at the restaurant. So happy to hear that it is still owned and run by the same family. We will be back. My husband had the filet and I had the salmon both were outstanding! We loved Ashley our waitress. What a personable gal!!! Keep up the good work everyone!!!
Absolutely Loved it!!! Relaxing, great service and food.
I always love coming to the Sheridan livery. I can count on a tasty special or select from one of the other delicious entrées off of the menu. The ingredients are always fresh and the service is delightful. The atmosphere is very romantic.
Great food, waitress was nice and attentive to our needs.
Food was outstanding, service was very good
Food was mediocre. Should update interior. Stuffy. Other great restaurants in town.
Our group enjoyed a lovely day outside on the patio. The staff was very accommodating with members comings and goings. Good food.
We dined here during a busy VMI weekend, hoping to have a special meal with good friends. Getting a reservation was not a problem. The food was very good, as always. However, our server rushed us throughout our meal, making our time with friends much less enjoyable. We were not anywhere close to the end of dining hours, so there was no excuse for the rushing and general lack of pleasantness during service. Quite disappointed, to say the last.
Good service and great food.
The meal was not as good as previous times-the Caesar salad was not as good specifically and I miss the strip steak option.
Great food service good and food fresh and well prepared
Wife's food was over cooked she had to send it back. When spoke to our server her explanation was that they had a new cook. My food was like rubber and very greasy. Complete Disappointment .
Wide variety of meals that never disappoint. Great drink selection, quiet with very attentive staff...but not too much. This is my wife and I's go to for a nice night out or a celebratory dinner. In our opinion it is the best place you can have a lovely quiet meal in Lexington....highly recommend!
We had never been to the Sheridan Livery Inn before and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It's an interesting space, quite spread out, including an outside dining area. We sat in a booth which was great for conversation.
The menu was interesting and varied. We had several different items. All were done to perfection.
The staff was quite friendly and helpful.
I hope to return during future visits to Lexington.
We recently dined at The Sheridan Livery Inn during W&L Parents' Weekend. Stuffed mushroom and bruschetta appetizers were excellent. All four of us enjoyed our entrees. The service was casual but attentive. Would definitely go back.
Diverse menu. Great seafood salad. Good selection of local brews.
Excellent staff. Delicious food. Great variety. Great choice
I was very impressed with this place. The food is excellent. I ordered the ravioli and loved it. My daughter and I liked this restaurant so much that we went back again two days later.
Great food , Great wait staff great entertainment !
Good selection of well prepared dishes. Friendly server who was knowledgeable and accommodating.
Good variety of menu items, at a variety of price points. Good value for the money and dining environment.
Small portions, overpriced. Flavor was good. Room is a little noisy as there are no soft surfaces.
Overall food was good, we had the mussels and the broth had great flavor. Chicken piccata was good, would have preferred grilled chicken though. My boyfriend had the ahi tuna and he said it was good too.
Avoid patio on Monday for dinner conversation. Music super loud.
We got the black bean and mango tacos as an appetizer. They were okay, but nothing special. Then we got a pork chop and the salmon 1/2 off specials, both of which were cooked well and very inexpensive. The food was good and the service was great. Overall, seemed like a good place for simple, but reliable food.
We ordered the mahi special with toasted couscous and roasted vegetable and the salmon on the menu with olive tapenade. Both were perfectly prepared, moist and served hot. Small salads come with the entrees, we enjoyed the caesar and the house salad with sun dried tomato vinaigrette. The servers were very friendly and prompt, although we had to ask for bread which other diners received with their salad. The rolls were hot and were very good with the leftover tomato vinaigrette from my salad. My only complaint is that our entrees were served as soon as we were done with our salad. I would have preferred at least 5 minutes of breathing room between courses. Other than that, we will return for another good meal and I would recommend.
Every time I have been, everything has been exceptional. Food is stunning and the service is fantastic!
The Sheridan Livery can always be counted on for good food, good value, good service and a pleasant ambience. 4 of us met for lunch and a reunion and we had everything from a Reuben to chicken salad to a cheese steak. All of us loved our lunches and our server was kind enough to snap a photo for us. We often return when we are in Lexington.
There were 6 of us for dinner shortly before they closed. We ordered the small plate quesadilla (special), scallops, Ahi tuna, a salad, a burger, and a chicken salad sandwich. Everything was awesome. Everyone was pleased. Very happy. Will dine again.
Was very good. However the servers did not seem to be very experienced.
The food was delicious: scallops seared perfectly, steak cooked to order, and risotto was heavenly. Waitress was new and she did a great job, but she could have checked on us less often.
The table was so sticky that my salad and dinner forks were stuck to the table. The server tried to wipe the table but could not remove the residue, and it was very annoying. I felt like I was eating at a cheap diner. There weren't any specialty cocktail offerings. The dinner menu had too many fish entrees, so was limited if you didn't like seafood. Vegetable sides were boring--mashed potatoes and green beans. And collards?? The salad is pedestrian (maybe add apples, cranberries, nuts, pickled vegs for some interest).
On the positive side, the French onion soup, crab cakes, and surf & turf were very tasty. And the big window views were nice. Your prices are the same as The Southern Inn, and they are miles ahead of you in food, drink, and polished service.
You have a lovely little restaurant but it really needs some serious tweaking. And maybe add a little votive for ambiance.
The Sheridan Livery is my “ go to” place in Lexington when I have friends or family over.
Food is consistently good, service is good, ambience is very pleasant, and I know there will be no surprises or disappointments. Sitting outside in season is a favorite!
This is one of our favorite local restaurants. The food is generally good, service is attentive and there’s a nice selection. There’s usually parking available too.
The food is very well priced as well as the wine. We had a bottle of Chilean savignon blanc for $22. it was a great value. We shared the crab cakes as an appetizer. I had the rockfish , scalloped potatoes, and grilled asparagus. The tables were well spaced inside and out. The service was on time. I was impressed enough to write something
We just love the place! The servers are fantastic and the Chef fantastic! The food is spot on every time! Keep up the good work!
Very nice overall, good menu good value, good food certainly would recommend and revisit
