we were a party of 7 and requested 2 checks. While the food was very good, and Aaron our server was efficient and nice, we each paid $65 for a $22 sandwich and 2 glasses of medium priced wine. We thought the added 20% tip per check was a bit much and probably put the bill over what we anticipated!

I love The Standard. That said, my experience this visit was unusual. I made a reservation for the main dining room, however when I arrived the main dining room was full with a few large parties. I was seated on the perimeter of the bar, along the window wall. Because I was seated there, our waiter often neglected us, giving her attentions to the diners in the main room. We were basically ignored.

Started with their old fashion which I believe was named brown sugar maple. It was good but a little sweeter than I like. The food was excellent. We split the standard spread and the hearty greens Caesar. Don’t skip the spread as the dips are amazing. Especially liked the Muhammara dip! I’m not a kale lover but trusted they know more about how to prepare kale than I and I wasn’t wrong. It was tasty. Plenty to share. We had the pork chop and the potato gnocchi. The flavors in both dishes made the perfect dinner. Friendly staff and service was great!

Made reservations at 7th Street Standard for a Saturday afternoon lunch date. Located in DOCO (Downtown Commons) at 7th & L, on the ground floor of the Hyatt Centric and next to the Golden1 Center. The 7th Street Standard brings you a stylish and sophisticated restaurant, with a vintage vibe that was beautifully done. It definitely has the ambience that's perfect for an intimate gathering like a date, or even a business dinner. We arrived at 1pm and were promptly greeted, and chose to sit in the booth area near the bar. We started off with drinks (gf: This Side of the Tropics, me: Tequila Mule) while we looked over the menu. Then eventually decided on the Pork Belly Hash to share which was delicious, and eventually the Shrimp Tacos (me) and the Chicken & Dumplings (her)...those were amazing as well. We capped off lunch with a cappuccino and the Berry Cream Puff dessert. Overall: Extremely impressed with this restaurant from the food to the decor. Staff was friendly, service was great, and the food was delicious...would definitely come here again.

Great place in a historic building with the door in the corner facing the 7th and L Streets intersection. Not a lot of signage due to historic building restrictions. Upon walking in we were greeted by the hostess who was impeccably dressed with not one hair out of place and escorted to our table. They gave us a choice of tap water or sparkling, we chose sparkling and they brought out several bottles of The Mountain Valley sparkling water that is bottled in Arkansas. While sipping on the water we perused the cocktail menu before settling on a gin drink with strawberries & a great Italian pinot noir that was under the chef summer selection of wines. The gin drink was called Franklin & is a nod to a local gentleman who grew strawberries. We then ordered a few appetizers which comprised of a Caesar salad & Oysters. The salad had big leafy greens for lettuce, kale & several other favorable leaf varieties, an amazing home made dressing, fresh croutons & a few medium boiled eggs. The oysters seemed to be like most other oyster plates in town, but then again I am not an expert about them unlike my friends who came with me. The oysters were good. The main course we ordered scallops: pork chop & the ribeye. They were all perfectly cooked, however my friend who ordered the ribeye complained about the edges being medium well & not mid rare as he ordered. I told him to order it rare next time. The pork chop can be a difficult cut of meat to cook & the chef was spot on with the one I ordered. Nice and moist with the bean ragout. I cleaned that plate & even gnawed on the bone to get every morsel of meat off it. My other friend who ordered the scallops said they were to die for. Once again I am not a seafood connoisseur & unable to give much insight other then they were tasty. For dessert we split the Cream Puff Our waitress Wohona was very attentive & Noah delivered all the food with their beautiful arm & an enchanting voice. I’ll go back just to see them again

I’ve dined at 7th Street a few times and each time has been great. If you go I recommend you check in advance to see if there is an event at the Golden 1 Center (1 block away) so you know what to expect for parking availability and cost.

It was a nice space and the service was outstanding. The dinner was so/so…..we had the pork chop, chicken and dumplings, burger and ribeye. The ribeye and burger were excellent, but the price point overall was too high. However, if you want delicious cream puffs, go get one here!

We held a recruitment dinner there last night. The atmosphere was great. Staff was attentive and excellent. Food really is amazing there - excellent flavor and presentation. This is my second time here and will definitely be back.

I took my mother here for Mother’s Day, but I wouldn’t come back to dine. For a drink and a snack? Sure. They were out of fish tacos, so opted for a Caesar salad with salmon. The salmon was way undercooked. The salad also came with an egg. Usually eggs in salad are hard boiled but not this one. They served an egg cut in half with yolk. I asked them to cook both the salmon and egg. It was a long wait just for them to come back with another egg with yolk. However, the salmon was cooked. The waiter gave me a discount but I left searching for another meal elsewhere. The restaurant was nice but a time experience was enough for me. I’ll stick to the Clayton Club upstairs for a drink.

We greatly enjoyed the special Easter brunch memo developed by the chef. Service was attentive and efficient. More people need to discover The Standard downtown. Don't be discouraged by the exterior scaffolding currently in place for restorative work on the building.

Love this place! Service is always top notch and the food is delicious. Very kind staff, great drinks. It’s close by where we live so it’s easy to get to and we always end up staying longer than originally planned. The ambiance is lovely, it’s usually very quiet in the dining room, there’s a busier happy hour at the bar but it is always very delightful.

Heard good things from a friend but disappointed in my brunch experience. Food is overpriced for what it is in my opinion. $30 for a Cesar salad with chicken. $25 for a burger but the patties were the size of sliders. The staff tried to remedy the situation, which I appreciate, but it was a little too late at that point.
