   One of the best meals of my life ! Mahi mahi over vegetable rice with curried aioli. Excellent mixed field greens dinner salad. Husband got prime rib perfectly cooked. Dessert was one of top two desserts I’ve ever had in my life (along with profiteroles in Paris !): glazed crepes filled with white chocolate soft cheesecake topped with berries. Wow !

    We used to enjoy the Roost, but after last night, we'll never be back. Wish I had a scale, the 16 oz prime rib was NOT 16 oz. But the kicker? Our guest ordered - and received "Jack on the Rocks". When we got home and studied the bill, I was charged for Bushnell's - $35 error.

    Appetizer and wine was great. Entrees were mediocre at best. Service was great, bartender was very cordial. Tri tip over cooked. Green beans soggy and tasteless. Mashed potatoes seemed instant. Not worth the price for entrées for sure.

    The food presentation is well done. There were 8 at our table and everyone enjoyed their selections (coconut shrimp, chicken fingers, prime rib, Parmesan crusted cod). The restaurant was packed and still the food came out quicker than expected. Dustin, our server, did a great job.

    I will give them a rating of average as they were obviously understaffed. Our party ordered appetizers and cocktails so we could have a toast, but my cocktail did not arrive until halfway through dinner. I was told that the bar was out of clean glasses and that was why it took so long. My entree was brought out when the appetizers came out which was a bit of a surprise. By the time everyone else got their dinner mine was no longer hot. I was taught that it is rude to begin eating until all diners at the table are served. I was trained that all entrees will be served at the same time, not trickle out one or two at a time. The kitchen needs to work on their timing. I was halfway through my dinner when my cocktail was finally served. I also had to ask 3 times for a water glass. The food was good, but the service and timing was sub-par.

    Our group of 5 people were there for a business dinner, and we loved being put in a quiet area where we could talk and hear each other. Everyone was SO nice and the service was great. We even were able to chat with the chef - and took his recommendations. The food was so delicious, served hot with little wait, and on a scale of 1 - 10, this place is 100 in my book.     The food was very good, they were very very busy and short staffed so we were understanding that things took a little bit longer. They were also having an issue with their computer system at the bar but they got it all worked out and we had a very nice meal, we do understand the short staffed and so we just relaxed and had a drink and people watched!

    The Roost is a good choice for dinner because the menu is big with a lot of options and the service is good. The special shrimp dish was excellent with fresh chopped avocado and good sauce, and the drinks are reasonably priced. My friend and I will definitely return.

    Great place and great staff! This place attracts a fun, happy clientele. One quickly gets into a great mood. The menu contributes to the fun with delicious options to meet so many palates.     This is a good choice if you want a restaurant that is less expensive than some of the other sit down places in Durango (Seasons, Primus, 636 Main). The food is excellent and the chef has a creative special every time we have been there. Service is friendly. It has become our go to restaurant when we want something nicer than the usual Mexican restaurants or fast food, pizza places, burger places.
