Great lunch and a break between wine tastings!
we were there for an event that evening. We booked for the restaurant lunch a couple days before the event. On the day of the event the restaurant notified us that they were closing early for the event and that if we wanted to have the lunch we had to arrive earlier than our reservation. They said that if we arrive after that assigned time, there would be a buffet for $30 for those people that were ticketed for the event. The buffet was just meager for the $30 that they were charging. The food was very mediocre in the buffet. I wish they would have notified us at least 24 hrs ahead so that we could have left earlier and allowed for the traffic on a Friday afternoon. Instead they contacted us 5 hrs before our assigned reservation.
It was like dining at K-Mart (the now defunct retailer). The restaurant is a makeshift dome tent with cheap decor. The service is OK. The food and the prices are horrible. We were a party of 6 and walked out of there with a $250 bill including tip. The lobster grill cheese is $29 and it does not live up to the price or the hype. The rest of the food was mediocre at best and of low quality. The charcuterie board was four appetizer and it was not worth the $34, both by taste and presentation. We drank our water out of plastic cups. The food took forever to come out. The list goes on.
I will not return, nor will I be recommending this place to anyone.
Do yourself a favor and visit Ponte or any of the other dozens of wineries who really do try to present a wine country experience in their restaurant.
customer service was great. very attentive to us. The food we all felt was a bit to salty. we tried all main dishes, the cheese tablet was the best of all things ordered. We are trying as many wineries in the area and this one has a beautiful layout but food is just not quite there, at least for the value. But i will add that all taste buds are different so it is worth the try.
Beautiful view with great food and wine. Limited menu during these Covid-19 times, but still satisfying. Always my start to a wine tasting afternoon.
Pleasant location, but more shade needed. Also, loud construction noise periodically. View was limited. Service was outstanding. Food was great.
We had an amazing lunch on Monday (they are usually closed on Mondays, but it was Memorial Day) They had a special BBQ menu and the food was delicious. Our server was very friendly and great service.
Food was okay and not worth the price. Our cocktails were delicious and the service were great.
Great as always
Food and service was outstanding.
Really bad experience. Service was extremely slow. Out of a group of six, we were told that three of the items we ordered were not available. The food we did get wasn't very good.
Amazing wine and drinks, amazing ambiance and out to this world food!!
Great food , wine and service by Jeremy
The flavors in the food were just overwhelmingly LOVELY! The staff were very attentive and swift to fill our glasses and answer any questions we had. It was a lovely dining experience and we will definitely be back.
The food quality is not the best. The chicken for our salad was very dry, the bread for the burgers was also very dry, the side vegetables for the seabass were basically uncooked and unseasoned.
Once again, had a great time! Great music (Jason Weber), fun dancing, amazing staff, perfect day!!!!! Will be back next weekend!
The amount and quality of arugula in my $20 salad was pitiful. The ambiance was perfect until the live music started. The type and noise level of the music took the ambiance from “lunch at a beautiful winery with my girls” to “apparently everyone is drunk and it’s a party at 2:00 in the afternoon.” We cut our time short because we couldn’t hear each other at the table anymore, despite what seemed like a reasonable distance from the speakers (we were in the large seating area across the patio from the musician). I would definitely return for appetizers/drinks if the noise level stayed at a level where I could still converse with my party.
Mount Palomar's restaurant was amazing. The winery and view are unbeatable and the food was equally delicious. We got the Brie En Croute appetizer, Goat Cheese appetizer, and for entrees we got the Lobster Ravioli, Lobster Grilled Cheese, and Burger. All were delicious!
The Sea Bass was listed as 7oz but this is the second time that I've ordered it and it wasn't the correct amount. My waiter Alex did advise the cook.
Wednesday is a great day, not too crowded. We are celebrating a pre Mother’s Day. We got a inside table. Food is great rich with vegetables. Surrounding views are spacious and beautiful. My friends enjoyed the experience and we highly recommend this place.
Always a great time.
Worst customer service that I have ever experienced in my life!!! I will never go here ever again.
The location was beautiful but the restaurant staff was rude, degrading and don't get me started on the restaurant Manager! She had RBF the moment we met her and did not want to be kind or helpful. She acted like it was her personal home and we are not welcome because we arrived 10 min late. Palomar is losing money having staff like that working for them and they probably have no idea.
This was our first time at this winery—we will definitely be back! Grounds were very pretty, our lunch was delicious & the service was attentive. We enjoyed our meal and our wine.
We arrived for lunch at 11:15 and where seated in an area with limited umbrellas. I asked the server to see if we can move an Umbrella and she said that the manger said No. I then asked if we could move to where the tables where covered and where they had misters. She said No they were all reserved. So after enduring are Hot stay and leaving around 12 we noticed that only 3 to 4 tables out of 25 under the misters had people eating lunch. After talking to the so called manager again he said that people had cancelled . Basically He didn't care. Reserve table under the misters.
Creative menu but poor execution. The four of us each ordered the sea bass entree and all four pieces of fish were very overcooked. More sauce would have also been desirable.
The outside seating area is nice, but it was too hot. The inside seating area has no ambiance. The food was absolutely HORRIBLE. The WORST margarita pizza I’ve ever had. The prime rib meal was fatty and tough - absolutely horrible. The Cesar salad was just okay. The charcuterie board was overpriced and average at best. Overall we were very disappointed- $240 for 4 people and only ordered one bottle of wine. I will never go back. And DO NOT RECOMMEND
When we got there, there weren't very many people there and we were told that they were down 3 cooks and it would take about 1 hour to get our food. We ordered a couple of appetizers because they said it wouldn't take long and it didn't. But the cheese bread had some sort of plastic in it and it stabbed my cheek. When I showed them they comped the drinks and appetizers.
We came here because their online menu showed a couple vegan options- more than most wineries in the area! We arrived for our reservation and were seated right away. The ambiance of the winery is nice and we appreciated that it was uncrowded and pretty quiet, with good music. The wine was good, but they didn't have the option to do tasting or a flight at the restaurant.
Our waiter was super nice. There was actually only one vegan item on the menu (online there's a Beyond Burger but that wasn't on the menu) so I ordered the vegan wrap and chose the salad as my side, but asked to make sure it was vegan. He thought it was but said he'd check with the kitchen. My partner order a brie and fruit plate and a turkey wrap. When our food came out, much later (the waiter kept checking in but kitchen was slow) there was cheese on my salad. I asked the server if she was sure it was vegan cheese and she said yes. I asked the waiter if he could double check. The wrap was also basically a rolled up salad- it wasn't clear to me from the menu description that it was wrapped in collard greens vs a traditional wrap. He said he'd check because she didn't look confident. When our waiter came back with my partner's ketchup (when he was almost done with his fries) we asked about the cheese again. He forgot to check. When eventually he does come back, after I've finished the wrap he tells us they're making me a new salad because it was real cheese. I would have been extremely sick if I had eaten that- it would have ruined the rest of my day! I didn't even need salad at this point. When I did finally get it they didn't even bring me another dressing so it was basically dry lettuce. My partner wasn't thrilled with his food either. They charged us for everything even though they almost ruined my day.
TLDR: don't trust them w/ allergens or dietary restrictions. The food's edible but not exciting. The wine is good but you can't do tastings and I don't know if it's vegan
The winery is gorgeous! The menu looked appealing. We ordered the ceviche and 2 chicken Cesar salads with a glass of the Bistro Red. Service was extremely, extremely slow. Took almost 20 minutes to even get acknowledged . Once the server came, we were ready to put in our full Oder, which we did. Took her at least 10 minutes to bring the wine. Then at about 50 minutes we got our food and unfortunately it all came together. The appetizer came at the same time as our entrees. Since we ordered the same salad I was taken aback at the presentation between to 2. Mine had all the toppings and dressing dumped on top of the grilled romaine, with the chicken on the side. My husbands came completely unassembled, everything on the side. Thought that was weird. Overall the salad was kind of lackluster. Chicken was way over cooked and I didn’t think it needed croutons and tortilla strips. The ceviche was good, but I was super disappointed that it came at the same time as our meal. Ceviche should be eaten cold and it was 85 degrees and we didn’t have any shade, the ceviche was getting super warm super fast. Also thought the prices were too much for what you got.
I did love the wine and the atmosphere though! Everybody can have a bad day, so I am willing to give it another try.
The music (saxophonist) was way too loud and we couldn’t hear each other at our table. We asked that it be turned down a couple times but to no avail. Food was also delivered late. Regrettably I will be cancelling my membership.
My Husband and I live in Temecula for 11 years so we decided to start visiting the wineries to know all of them. This time we came to Mount Palomar. We liked a lot. The atmosphere is really pleasant, the food is really good and our server was phenomenal. It got our attention to know that this winery has a big lot that is in constructions. We asked and they told us that they will built different entertainment places like a theater and a discotheque. Very interesting. I will give this restaurant a big "definitely we will comeback"
Upon our arrival for dinner we were seated outside and it was very cool and windy. There were no heaters just umbrellas for the sun. Other than that the food was good and reasonably priced. I recommend the Salmon
Sadly, we did not have a great experience. I know I need to be a bit empathetic to the fact restaurants are re-opening with modified requirements, but that does not explain the bad service. This is first and foremost a winery... the server has ZERO knowledge of the wine list. Seriously? So, we decided on White Sangria, and was told they ran out over the weekend (IT WAS THURSDAY). Sooo, you haven't made more in 4 days?! We then settled on the red sangria...not the best. Second, I had ordered the Short Rob sliders for lunch, but received the dinner entree. Might be good to confirm which entree I ordered if there are two options!? Sigh.
Dining room looked pretty dated. Came here for lunch with some out-of-town relatives... don't think they were blown away with the whole experience.
Great food! Great entertainment!!!! Service is usually really good. I think we had a new (or not properly trained) server. He was nice, but not very "on top of it". Will definitely be back though!
Great food. Great music (Jason Weber!!!). Great time dancing! Servers may need a little more training. I've noticed some are better than others, but all good. You're open & we're having a great time!
Good food, good ambience and our waiter Tristan did a fantastic job.
Food was not good especially for the price. My husband got a chicken Caesar salad that cost $25 and was only about 1 cup of wilted lettuce. Music was way too loud to have a conversation. Waitress service was slow. Only view of a torn up hill side. Buttttt the wine is delicious and hubby liked to bloody Mary’s a lot
Lunch for a party of eight on a Saturday. Beautiful grounds, great view of what will be a new vineyard. Live music, good food. Lots of people just out having a good time.
