Wow, just wow. The ambiance is as outstanding as the food. Went for sunset and will absolutely be back.
We were at the Hotel for dinner twice during our 10 day stay. It is by far the best restaurant in Wailea from our experience. Expensive like all Maui fine dining but worth it. Beautiful veranda to watch sunsets as you dine. Innovative food. Best lobster in a long time. Great service.
Our waiter Ian was great!!
An excellent restaurant that never fails. Nice views. Super food. Great service. Always.
We went for our Valentine’s Day dinner. It was a beautiful setting. Wish we had a better view of the sunset. Being that we’re locals we figured the people visiting Maui don’t see this everyday, so we’ll settle for what we got. The service was great! The ambiance was romantic and the food was delicious. We enjoyed splurging on a nice evening out. Very grateful for the experience.
Birthday celebration at sunset.
Beautiful location but food was disappointing and did not love up to the hype. Fishy fish and wagyu beec was overcooked.
Outstanding, boutique restaurant experience. The excellent features include the view, the small dining venue, beautiful decor of the lobby leading to the restaurant, wonderful waiter, memorable food. One of my top dining experiences in Hawaii.
Our waiter was superb. Inventive dishes with wonderful presentation; all courses were delicious but the dessert was truly unique and quite flavorful.
We loved it and recommend it highly!
Sarah the sommelier was amazing, as was the entire service team and food!
Not a great place if raining and windy. No place to take cover. Food way over priced even in Hawaii
Wonderful presentation, delicious food, and great service! Cocktails were superior! A must visit!!
Beautiful venue- beautiful views- wonderful service - great food. What’s not to like!!!!!!
A lovely setting. Delicious food, great service
Fantastic ambiance, great food and drink, helpful staff, really can’t go wrong here.
Everything is superb!
The Restaurant at HW is a must do when we’ve come to Maui!
From drive in to departure, you are surrounded by beautiful gardens, a lovely waterfall, luxurious furnishings, and an extremely capable, polite, friendly staff.
The view from the restaurant is spectacular! We time our dinner to be there as the sun sets in spectacular fashion over Wailea Bay. We were greeted with “welcome back “ and were fortunate that Benjamin was our waiter.
The choices on the menu were individually lovely. We chose the gazpacho with prawns to start. My husband had the “divine” risotto and I chose the steamed Onaga with bok choy, tender, moist in a savory broth. Dessert was superb and light.
Very nice restaurant and lovely patio. Great cocktails and food. Service at the bar and at the table were excellent. One of our best dining experiences this week in Wailea.
The entire experience was poor. We were seated and no waters were served for 15 minutes. Our salads were overdressed. An appetizer came out that we didn’t order the Ahi Tuna and it was on a soggy toast. We waited over an hour and 15 minutes for our entree. The salmon was mushy, the two lobster dishes were cold and under cooked and our waygu was cold. Overall a very disappointing experience.
The service was outstanding as was the food and the setting. The only negative was the food bloggers sitting at the table next to us taking copious pictures of their food using flash cubes that lit up like a stadium. The should have been seated off in corner as not to be so annoying to other diners.
All but one item were excellent. Our diner for two, with no “bottles” of wine, cost $260 excluding the gratuity!
After a not so great experience last year we were hesitant to return, but allow everyone has an off night. We were so pleased. The food, service, presentation and flavors were a complete delight. Order a selection of snacks, one bite each, to enjoy the flavors of Hawaii and for great eye candy. The crab spaghetti is wonderful (as always), the risotto is incredible and the scallops were divine. Two musts are book your table to enjoy the sunset and dessert. Awesome dinner, we will be back.
Everything was borderline magical. The food, service & view were incredible. The cocktails were great. The people next to us were fantastic. I feel like I should mention the view again.
The only qualm was that we waited for 10 minutes for valet. Nobody came and we were told we could self park. I parked in an employee spot and somebody pushed our side mirrors in and pulled out our windshield wipers. It wasn’t a big deal. Just kind of weird. It was half my fault for parking there. Don’t believe any damage was done to the car. Just a friendly warning.
The food, service, and views were remarkable. What really impressed me was how all the staff went above and beyond to recognize my wife’s birthday and make the meal special for her.
This experience was a special treat on our vacation. It was everything we expected: excellent food and service in a fantastic setting.
Amazing environment, food, and service. Top notch in every way.
Need darker shades so that you don’t have blinding sunlight until the sun goes down.
One of our best wailea dining experiences to date. Excellent service and food quality as well as innovation of dishes! We appreciated the tour of the kitchen and gettting to meet the chefs as well. Thanks!
We sat before sunset. The view was spectacular. The menu was exciting and the service was friendly and efficient
The best part about this restaurant is the view from the table at sunset. It's simply beautiful and romantic. The service was good and the mood is dressy-casual and laid back. The food is on the expensive side ($150 for dinner with 2 entrees and 2 cocktails -- no appetizers, wine or desert). Given that, the food is very good. It just isn't amazing. Go for the ambience.
The food and service was absolutely amazing!
Awesome. Food was delicious. Service was excellent
Outstanding food fit for a special occasion! Service and curated menu selections were top notch. The only element that could have made it better is an ocean view.
Beautiful outdoor dining, great food and good service. Great adults only hotel!!
Unfortunately didn’t meet our expectations ( From R) The main course came almost cold, especially garnish (sticky rice), maybe because our waiter was busy, he doused another client with a cocktail and was engaged in drying it( The hôtel itself is very nice in design though. It was curious to see.
The main reason we went here was that it was at the hotel we were staying at, and we had a $500 credit to use. After eating there, I'd say that's the only reason you should head here for dinner. Comparatively, Kimo's and Merriman's were *much* better meals, and were under 50% of the cost. Everything at this restaurant is about double what you should be paying - the service is good, the food is good, the ambiance is good, but unless you've got a *really* compelling reason to go here, it's absolutely not worth the double-price of other restaurants that are better.
Excellent all around. Delicious food, great and friendly service. Lovely view for sunset. Be sure you have reservations since this is a small restaurant attached to an all 72 suite hotel. Located on top of a hill overlooking Wailea. Expensive but worth it.
Absolutely wonderful dinner at a beautiful hotel. Bill for two was $150 + tip with very light alcohol. Second time here and we'll be back.
We ate at restaurants all over Maui for 8 days and The Restaurant at the Hotel Wailea was by far and away the nicest in every single category. If you are on Maui, this place has to be at the top of your list for places to eat.
