Anything less than FANTASTIC would be unfair. It was a memory. My wife and I are both foodies, and we both were extremely impressed. I had the catch of the day. She had the scallops. The sauces were to die for! I would recommend it to anyone.
A beautiful restaurant in a beautiful hotel.
Food is always great. Service is always great. A beautiful location for an intimate dinner. Aliso great views before the sun goes down
Expensive, but was worth it.
We dined here for my wife's birthday which turned out to be a big mistake. Long story short, the restaurant did not deliver on what was discussed and we were very disappointed to say the least.
The manager on duty that night at the restaurant was very nice about the situation and took care of our meal but that wasn't necessary. What we really wanted was for them accommodate out dietary needs as we were told they would and they completely failed.
We were in contact with the hotel well in advance of our arrival about it (after being told that's all you need to do and they will make arrangements), we even confirmed when we checked into the hotel but unfortunately, nothing was done. Frustrating and upsetting experience.
We went to the restaurant for Valentines Day. They featured a Prix Fix menu for $125.00 per person. The starter and soup were delicious. Unfortunately, the porterhouse steak for two, which looked wonderful, was overcooked, without flavor and served cold. A very disappointing experience. It should have been much better for the price.
My wife and I chose to have Valentine’s dinner here and it was worth every penny. Amber and April went above and beyond to take care of us all night. The porterhouse we shared was one of the three best steaks I have ever tasted. Every course of the meal was divine. The food was perfectly complemented by the ambiance.
We loved everything about our Valentine’s day dinner. The food was the best we’ve experienced on Maui. Plated beautiful, the flavor combinations were remarkable. Every bite was a treat. The service was attentive, warm, welcoming and extremely professional, with each course timed perfectly. The setting is exquisite. This is expensive, but fine dining at its best. Every element of the experience is thought through-a perfect evening.
Food was very good. Not sure it was worth the expense. Service slacked off after the entrees were served. Not much different from Capische.
Lovely meal. Wonderful surroundings.
Great find up on the hill in Hotel Wailea. Don’t miss the barrata. The soufflé was excellent as well. Wonderful meal and setting.
Amazing food, amazing service, we had the lamb and the duck and both were superb!!
Fantastic Service and execptional food. The Crudo was oustanding and highly recommended. Staff were very attentive. It was my friends birthday and they made her feel really special. They did a fantastic flambe marshmallow and chocolate lava cake which was out of this world.
Food was incredibly flavourful. Setting is gorgeous. Portions are small but we were expecting that. Will definitely go back but request a table right along the balcony railing.
Paid $200 for two people. We ordered the Tako appetizer, I ordered the Wagyu steak, my wife the salmon. Also ordered two cocktails.
- Ambiance was outstanding, incredible views of Maui, restaurant located in the incredible Hotel Wailea.
- One of my two cocktails was of the quality you would expect from a high priced restaurant, it was a bourbon based one.
- My wife thought her salmon was pretty good.
- For me it was standard American fare with fancy presentation and flavors that were expected, nothing mind blowing, and certainly achievable at many restaurants for much lower prices.
- My steak was ordered medium rare, it was medium.. which is fine, because the quality of the meat was excellent. It's just...there wasn't much else going on in the dish, in my opinion. There was a potato-like substance underneath the meat which was nice but also sparse.
- Sparse actually is a good word to use for this restaurant: They gave us two small Hawaiian rolls to start. We asked for refills multiple times because they kept coming out with two small rolls.
- The Tako appetizer was one relatively small arm of an octopus. Look, I weight 155 lbs, my wife 120, we dont eat much. This was just not much food for the price! The flavor was good, but nothing else going on besides just the grilled flavor.
- I thought, for the location and price, the cocktails were not amazing. I ordered a drink called the Girl from Wailea or something to that effect...very sweet. The bourbon drink I got was fine, nothing special.
I just don't like paying $200 for what amounts to standard American fare at a restaurant that dresses itself up as an incredible experience, but doesn't match up to it's incredible views or price.
Did not disappoint! Loved the atmosphere. Our favorite dish was the risotto...definitely a must! Great service, excellent food, and the atmosphere was beautiful.
Excellent food, service, and ambiance.
Fantastic meal. Perfect.
Souper romantique à Wailea.
Excellent food. Very professional and polished staff. The restaurant would benefit from more patio heaters. Overall, a very good dining experience.
We went here for my wife's birthday. Both service and food were excellent. We were first hesitant due to the limited menu options but every dish was made very well and prepared in special ways. My wife got a free dessert off the dessert menu. Would definitely recommend and return in the future. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We were impressed from the time we arrived until the time we left.
Service was fine it’s a quality restaurant
Very good food but tiny portions
We took my parents here while vacationing in Wailea. Our nanny watched the children so it was just the four of us. From the pre dinner cocktails to the after dinner drinks-everything was superb! Our waiter was so knowledgable and seemed to genuinely care about the food and our experience. The whole evening was a delight!
Wife’s birthday. Great table to see sunset. She loved her food. My fish came with a too-strong sauce and the side order never appeared.
Overall a pleasant experience but food and service are not up to usual Relais & Chateaux standards, and therefore, it’s overpriced.
This was our third or fourth visit to this location. Though the name has changed; the quality, service, ambience, etc. remain unchanged.
Food always among the best on the island. Great service by Frank and Tisha. Love the Kampachi Crudo, Ginger Rubbed Grilled Tako (Octopus), Oysters on the Half Shell with Yuzu Kosho and Radish. Generous meaty Colorado Lamb Chops matched with Caramelized Onion Potato Puree and Date Chutney, and excellent Maine Lobster. Fun dessert: Chocolate Lava Cake, but really it's more: Deconstructed S'Mores.
Our tomato and burrata appetizer was very good, although a lighter hand on the flavored cheese would have allowed the fresh burrata taste to emerge on its own.
The duck was excellent.
The bolognese was unremarkable, however.
Loved the setting. The starters and salad were very light and full of flavor. We both ordered the lamb. Bit over cooked. The potato purée was tasty with the flavor of caramelized onion coming through. Its consistency was almost runny and very difficult to eat with a fork (no spoon provided). The quality of the food was not up to the expectations for the prices charged. In our opinion it does not come close to what it is attempting to replace- Capische?.
The food is even better than in the past. It’s less heavy and more innovative, and absolutely delicious!
Creative dishes with layered depths of flavor and texture and beautiful presentation, eaten while watching the Maui sunset over the ocean. A feast!
