Really loved the small plates(mushrooms in broth with gnocchi& brussel sprout salad)! (Would like to try all of them at some point.) The entrees were wonderful as was the dessert. Definitely a "return to" restaurant!

Just get the burger. It’s never anything but miraculous. Such a simple entree you could get anywhere else, but The Refinery has perfected it. You know it’s good when all 3 people at the table order it. You’re welcome.

The Refinery amazes! I line in NY and was visiting my mom in the Tampa area. I did some research and decided on the Refinery to take her to dinner. It definitely didn’t disappoint! Truly farm-to-table and imaginative menu. From the many appetizers we shared to the main courses, it was perfection. Indeed a great wine selection also! Will definitely be going back!

Friendly, spacious location with just enough parking. Quiet atmosphere, with a touch of ambiance. Menu is creative with unique options. Food was delicious with a nice presentation. Nice list of bourbons, and cocktails, and fairly valued wines. Dessert list is limited. Overall, a good experience. I would recommend for a nice casual dinner, with a date, or a group of friends.

I have been to The Refinery a few times, and I love it because the food is familiar and Southern, but with a modern twist and kale instead of collard greens. I love their selection of craft beers. My favorite entree on the menu is the grilled meatloaf, but the burger and fried chicken are also delicious.

Good food, very good service (maybe a little slow in the kitchen). We sat too close to the Sonos speaker, so the volume was a bit high for us.

Please take this as constructive criticism only: the corn bread was dry, mayo was on the burger even though not listed and being told it wouldn’t be, datil pepper/vinegar condiment was missed for the greens. However, the flavor combinations were well thought out and tasty. Nit picking aside, The Refinery is still one of my favorite restaurants.

I often ate at Fodder and Shine and will miss it. I have always enjoyed The Refinery, though, so I’m glad it is still here.

Good menu. Gives some options not available on most restaurants, while still having some standbys. Waiter provided very good service and the cost was reasonable.

Restaurant easy to find and appears to have ample parking, both adjacent to the building and nearby. The outdoor seating area is expansive and comfortable looking. We were concerned at first because the music was quite loud but once inside the sound was much lower and quite acceptable so conversation could be easily heard.
The restaurant itself is spacious with a good sized bar to one side. Seating is not crowded; plenty of room between tables and booths. The menu is quite interesting and has a number of options for vegetarians.
Nice wine selections, a good selection of beers and a full bar.
We tried a pimiento cheese appetizer - it was tasty but rather small in size and didn't come with bread. We ordered some for the cheese and it was grilled and quite tasty. We thought it odd that the bread was extra.
We tried two different entrees. Both were delivered nice and hot. One was a dish with dumplings with vegetables. The other was a dish based on shredded potatoes. They were interesting with some different flavors than we had previously experienced.
We were too full to try dessert.
The menu changes constantly so is pays to check it out on their website so you have an idea what is going to be available. Service was friendly and prompt.
Definitely worth a trip.

The menu at the new location for brunch is still delicious. The waitress (Erin?) was attentive, patient, and very friendly. Glad to see the Refinery continuing its excellent service in the new location - continues to be my go-to for brunch.

I had expected a great meal based on the other reviews. It was the exact opposite. The food was terrible. The biscuits were super dry. The eggs and potatoes were cold. Coffee was also cold and had to wait 10 minutes for the server to bring creamer. The side of bacon was $6, which isn’t unusual for a specialty bacon. But this was four 1/2 slices of ordinary bacon. Save yourself the disappointment and go to Datz or oxford exchange.

We had dinner here with friends and unfortunately, it was just average service and food. They were out of both Crown Royal and Miller Lite of all things. We asked for a side order of bread and ended up with blackened toast. I don't think I have ever been served bread so obviously burned (it was black). I ordered the hamburger and honestly Five Guys makes a better one. We had a good time with friends, but was disappointed not to have a great dining experience. Don't think I will be in a hurry to go back. To many other better restaurants in the Seminole Heights area.

My husband and I went for a date night and it was everything it should have been. Industrial cool toned atmosphere, impeccable service, and creatively paired ingredients. I am vegan and my husband is not so it can be difficult finding places to eat that do both well...this place is IT. They offer vegan small plates and entrees and I was in heaven. The food was so impressive. Can’t wait to return!

From the menu, we were expecting a lot of "foo foo" food. But, we were pleasantly surprised that the food was very tasty and well-presented! The meatloaf was especially delicious. I would recommend and we plan on going back.

Whenever you go to the Refinery you have to have the Pimento Cheese Appetizer. They have a great selection of Cocktails, Beers and Wine. They have a lot of comfort foods, the meatloaf and fried chicken are the best.

The quality is the same high level as in their old location. I did feel like they were still adjusting to the growing pains and absorption of Fodder and Shine, as there was a little confusion as to what was available and they had run out of several things. This should be solved soon and I will definitely be back. Great place.

We walked in at 7:15 for our reservation. The hostess took us to a table right in the isle way. There were empty tables throughout the restaurant. We asked if we could please be seated at another table along the wall. The hostess proceeded to tell us that was not possible because all the tables were reserved and had specific times. We told her we come often and prefer a table by the wall not in the middle of the isle. She said there was nothing she could do. So we left without eating. Later we drove by and there were very few cars in the parking lot and not many people there as far as we could tell. The experience was not like we had ever had in the past.

Food was good. No options for kids. Could not even make a grilled cheese. So as of Spring 18 they have an adult hamburger entree and a meatloaf that 2 kids could share. That is if you have 2 kids. Lucky for us we went with another family with one kid like us.

An exceptional meal with stellar service. The people CARE about what they are serving whether it’s the food at the table or the whiskey at the bar. Give yourself over to the experience and try something new. You’ll always be rewarded.

The Refinery is a staple of the Seminole Heights neighborhood. My husband and I have lived in the area for about 5 years now and I have never had a bad experience at the Refinery! They have recently moved to the old Fodder & Shine location. The renovated space is chic, casual and elegant. They have a great bar area & also a beautiful outdoor seating area (covered & uncovered). The menu selection changes often but Chef Greg Baker always has some delicious selections every time I have gone. You can tell by the way to the menu is created and the way his chefs prepare his dishes that they are truly passionate about their food. This is definitely a restaurant my husband & I will continue to enjoy and I highly recommend checking this place out!! Great for drinks with friends or a nice romantic date night ;)

Service was subpar at best. Waiter couldn't bother to tell us his name and didn't seem to know what to recommend when asked. Needed to ask for small plates and silverware replacements. Food was also just meh. Pimento cheese dip was good with pickled vegetables. I had the rabbit fettuccine bolognese. It tasted like overcooked ground turkey, not rabbit. My friend had the burger and said it was alright. I was looking forward to The Refinery being in a new space and hopefully an updated menu but it's still the same. Not terrible, but also not good.

My husband and I had a wonderful brunch experience at The Refinery. It was our first time dining there and I know we will go back.
Our food was delicious! Creative without being too out there and really delicious. The mimosas were also very good and were served in a mason jar, making them a great value. The service was wonderful. Our server was attentive and friendly without being obtrusive.
I really enjoyed the décor too.
I have nothing but good things to say about The Refinery. I am looking forward to going again!

We selected The Refinery for Easter Sunday brunch since it had received good reviews for breakfast brunch in the past. We expected a special Easter menu or at least a special Easter dish, but were disappointed to find the regular menu in place and the daily special was a fancy breakfast bun. The food was OK, the service was ordinary. The servers didn't seem to notice it was a holiday or even seem to want to be at work. Very low energy. We made a 40-minute drive to the restaurant and couldn't help but discuss other dining options as we ate. This restaurant would be fine for a regular brunch out in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't put it on the list for Easter or Mother's Day brunch as a special destination. I had this reservation for more than 2 weeks and was looking forward to a special meal with my family , but I was disappointed that the staff and chef didn't get the Easter Sunday memo.

My wife and I hosted another dining out over the weekend. We had heard good things about The Refinery and decided to try the restaurant with 5 of our friends in tow. We arrived early to have a drink at the bar and get settled in. Ten minutes went by before one of the two bartenders recognized us as their focus was on preparing drinks for tables of guests which had already been sat. The menu was very eclectic which made it difficult for the majority of us to choose a meal. My wife ordered the smoked wings appetizer. They were some of the best she'd ever had. Her meal went down from there as the only thing she could say about her steak entrée was that the sides were really good. She offered me a bite of her steak. All I can say is some salt and pepper during the cooking phase would have fixed the problem. A majority at the table had the meatloaf. All agreed that it was good, but not great. When it came to dessert, I'm not quite sure what they were trying to accomplish with the ice cream sandwich but it just didn't work with us. Lastly, I must give a shout out to our waitress as her service outshined the meal! Sure wish we had a better experience as this is the first lack-luster review I've had to give while being a member of OpenTable. We wish them the best but will not be returning.

I visited this place for the first time Saturday night. I did NOT like being forced to pay $5.00 for “valet” parking when all the valet did was move my car 20 feet! I’m capable of parking my own car and thought the option should be mine on whether I valet or self-park. The valet told me I did not have the option and HAD to valet it. If I didn’t have a reservation with two other couples I probably would have left.
When I walked inside, we were greeted by a friendly young lady. She seated us quickly but it probably helped we had a reservation. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food dishes ordered at my table were the rabbit fettuccine, burger, fried chicken, stew and meatloaf. Everyone said their meal was good. Other than the valet issue, I would return to eat, but the FORCED valet parking was not a positive for me.

Service was top notch, food was very good and price paid was a little high....but being that the food was good, I didn't mind. We celebrated a birthday and they accommodated all my needs to make it a surprise. The decor was nice and modest, not overly too decorated. We will go back to try other dishes for sure.
