The Quarter is a Cajun Creole restaurant that features New Orleans style dining outside on the patio or inside in the dining room. The full service bar specializes in serving a variety of New Orleans style cocktails and specialty drinks. The Quarter offers a banquet and buffet menu and wine list as well.
The dinner menu at The Quarter includes fruit and nut chicken salad, fried crawfish, crab cake, fried gator bites, seafood gratin, fried oysters platter, shrimp and grits, fried catfish platter, fresh blackened red snapper, Cajun meatloaf, gumbo, jambalaya, red beans and rice and Cajun fried chicken. Sandwiches and soups are also on the menu.
We came here for a post graduation dinner and had a wonderful meal and a wonderful time! It’s easy access to the highway even though it’s in the center of Roanoke. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding! We had people coming in all through our meal, and they were wonderfully accommodating. It was a great time all around! I highly recommend it!
The food and service were okay but nothing to get real excited about. It did take over 45 minutes for our food to be served but the staff was very friendly.
Although i was unaware that booths had to be reserved, we had a great time. Great food to get us excited for our next trip to NOLA and our waiter was great.
Except for my husband's shrimp pasta only having THREE shrimp in it, we enjoyed our meal.
Authentic New Orleans food. The Creole Bloody Mary was the best Bloody Mary I've had since being in New Orleans. Portions were generous...all at a great price.
We had high hopes for this place but it ended up being a miserable experience. We were seated at a table in a dark corner upstairs where there was a group of 24 college students who were very loud. It was so loud we weren’t able to hold a conversation and hear each other. Added to that, it took an hour to get our food which was mediocre tasting at best. Sorry to say, we’ll never return.
The location is great, the service was fine; however the food was just ok. Sorry. We ordered Hushpuppies and both orders were over fried on the outside and doughy in the middle. We thought the second order would be better. I bet they fry them frozen is the problem. The shrimp and grits were bland. New Orleans food should be more authentic and spicier - that is why folks come. The grits were gooey with no flavor. I would go again but with lower expectations. It's just okay, not something I would brag about.
Delicious, fresh and SCRUMPTIOUS!
The food at the Quarter was imaginatively conceived, prepared and presented. Reasonable portions of food with fresh ingredients and skillful preparation offered with considerable skill in plating renew old New Orleans favorites for modern needs. The scallop small plate was perfectly prepared and my husband's plate of three New Orleans staples were wonderfully balanced. The service was superb, warm and attentive without being overly familiar. We will be back for the gorgeous grits annd the perfect sauteed spinach and the beignets!
We had reservations and when we arrived the hostess informed us she had given away our table to a party of 12 who arrived early! They finally put us upstairs where my husband who has a bad knee, had to walk up 29 steep steps. We were seated at a small table. Our waitress was very sweet and tried very hard to give us good service. We spoke with the manager who apologized and gave us complimentary salads. We had the special and the steak was good but the vegetables were not. We waited a very long time for our food! Everything had to be brought up from downstairs even my wine despite having a full service bar upstairs! We were there for 2 hours + and it was not fine dining!
WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!
My wife and I loved the food and the atmosphere. The service was excellent.
This was our first time eating at The Quarter. It's a beautiful restaurant with a New Orleans flair. The food was great and the service was wonderful. We will definitely plan a trip back there soon.
They have a new menu and they took off red beans and rice! So sad!! Also, they served regular rolls instead of cornbread with dinner. Not coming back most likely.
Had guests in from out of town. Loved it being from the south it is legit.
We had a wonderful meal here, great seafood and a nice beer selection with local breweries on tap
The service was great and the food tasted great. However for the price, the portions on my meal left a bit to be desired. Too many fries, and not enough seafood.
The food was delicious, the waitress was friendly timely. Great dinner
Nice, cute NOLA themed place with traditional southern eats - good cocktails, good food and good atmosphere - but nothing spectacular.
Very nice dinner, great food and service and everything was very affordable! Thank you!
It was our first time at the Quarter. Great staff, nice place with great food. I would like to see a bigger selection of Creole food but it is worth the hour drive for dinner.
We actually went to the Quarter for restaurant week in Roanoke. I sampled the restaurant week menu while my husband ordered their Oysters Rockefeller, as an opener, then the Crawfish étouffée. The restaurant week menu opener for me was the Crab Beignet, follows by the Pimento Burger, delicious, topped off with a small slice of Kentucky Bourbon Pecan Pie. Both of our meals were delicious! Their staff, bartenders, wait staff, were friendly and inviting.
Enjoyed our meal. Ambience lacking a bit; jazz playing would enhance the “New Orleans” feel.
Food was amazing and atmosphere was great. Will definitely be back!
Probably a slow night, but our visit was wonderful. The food was AMAZINGLY good, scallop app was magnificent; I'd have liked an entire side of the greens served under my scallops. The meatloaf was superb but the mashed potatoes were even better than that. I'd return, no question about that.
Great price point and delicious food, centrally located to market square.
Once again we thoroughly enjoyed our evening with friends. Food and beverages were excellent - including dessert!
The jambalaya, alligator bites and shrimp were amazing. The creme brulee and beignets tasted like heaven. The service was exceptional. Our only complaint was the corn bread, no taste and dry. Other than that we had a great time!
I had the bourbon glazed salmon and my wife had blackened ribeye. This is a Cajun restaurant and both males were fantastic
Little things mean a lot, and in the courtyard garden under a summer evening sky, we were blasted from the back by an enormous fan, talking to each other with our hair standing straight ahead of us, so it was like talking down a tunnel and whipping the faces of our neighbors. It was hard to drink and eating was messy. And our waiter seemed impatient with us. We don't know why. My advice is, the garden is lovely, but sit somewhere else. They used to make a gorgeous vegetarian red beans and rice, but now there is no entree that doesn't involve meat, the peeved waiter said. Even so, cobbling together a green salad, grits, and fried green tomatoes was summery and light with a glass of apple-y Chardonnay.
