Celebrating a big birthday and wanted a great experience. We will definitely recommend The Pitt to friends and family. The ribs were amazing!
Meal and service was great.
Can’t go wrong with the brisket! Service was great.
Our first time here, we were on a double date night with friends. Overall I was a little disappointed. I think the best part of our night were our delicious cocktails and the excellent service our waitress provided BUT the food was mediocre. $18 for brisket that looked like sliced roast beef, potato salad was bland and Mac and cheese was good. I think the best looking plate was a Salad someone else got at our table. Definitely not REAL BBQ! You want REAL BBQ go to Big Mike’s in Cary. Also leaving the door open on a 38° night is ridiculous, the whole place was freezing. It doesn’t help with germs if that’s what they are thinking, the heater is going on and off spreading everything around anyway.
We probably won’t be back or recommend this place.
The Pitt was good! We are already planning on coming back to try things we could not try this time.
Food was cold and it was freezing inside. We were the first people to come in and everyone got their food before us. The manager spoke to everyone but us. We have never had a bad experience at the one in Durham.
Great service, great food, making reservation really easy
Great service! Great food!! Took my family for an in and out day trip to the city and this was our first stop. We could not have started our day off better!!!
Great food as always
Carrot cake dessert was absolutely the best cake of any kind I have ever eaten and the best nonchocolate dessert I’ve ever had.
The pandemic is hurting them. No crowd. Reservation required. Food was ok. Not as hot as it should be. Keeping doors open for ventilation. Seating area was cold. They can and should do better for the customers they are getting. May change reccomendation in future. Just not a goid place to go now.
We went during the Triangle Restaurant Week. Celebrated my birthday and got an extra dessert.
Food was amazing! One of the best barbecue I've eaten. Our server was great and very attentive.
Food was the best! The soul roles and Carolina BBQ was fantastic. Definitely dinning here again.
It was great! I think they may have been a little short of staff as they took a little longer than expected to check on my husband and I. Although a short waiting period, the service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious! I will be back.
Large servings, excellent food. The iced tea was very good. The fried chicken was fresh hot and crispy. The Brussels sprouts are among the best in the triangle. Cooked to perfection, but not over done.
Great BBQ & friendly servers!
The food was pretty blah, the service was just ok, and the whole restaurant was super cold. After reading the reviews I was really excited, after eating there I was just really disappointed.
We hadn't been in a while and decided to stop in for a quick lunch... it was fantastic! Huge portions even at lunch time which makes for delicious leftovers. Service was great; only complaint was that the restaurant was SO cold!
It was freezing inside restaurant. I was soooo uncomfortable i had to wear my jacket the entire time.. someone should probably consider closing the doors when it’s 30 degrees outside. Just a hint
Good food, great value with lovely service, but the place was freezing and in parallel, the food was much less than warm
Authentic pure southern food and vinegar based NC BBQ. The seats have changed to accommodate social distancing but the food is still a highlight of downtown Raleigh. Be sure to try the bbq soul rolls, egg rolls filled with chopped bbq, carrots, and collard greens. They taste like the south deep fried and drizzled with a mustard and sweet and sour jelly. The bbq is seasoned perfectly and the chicken is juicy and flavorful with a crispy outside that's not too oily. The Pit is great for families. Would highly recommend.
We were very disappointed in the food. Our food came to our table in a timely manner but it was barely warm.
I love going to The Pit because the food is always consistently cooked well and service is quick and dependable.
We love the Pit! Always a good experience. We took out of town family here for New Year’s Eve and it was a big hit.
Fried Chicken and chopped BBQ were great! Fried okra side was top notch. Good service too!
Not an everyday BBQ spot, but a great spot to eat!
It was a nice meal. Biscuits were good. BBQ was good. Brussel Sprouts were not good.
Food was kinda dry but overall would eat there again.
Everything was great from the outstanding service, to the drinks, to the appetizer (Soul Rolls) to the adult and kid entrees (sliders, BBQ Burger, Mac & Cheese)! And let's not forget the banana pudding! Nothing beats BBQ at The Pit!
Great good! Excellent all-around!
Great food and service
Was really cold inside, doors were open and it was a cold night. Maybe part of the COVID mitigation plan? Food was ok, got cold pretty quick.
The Pit never disappoints with its delicious food!. Virtually everything I have tasted there has been amazing.
The staff was very knowledgeable about the menu and the food was amazing. Just what we were looking for being from Wisconsin.
Great COVID safety and fab food, service and beers. Beautiful spot - memorable meal!
The Pitt never disappoints us as the food and hospitality is great.
Best waiter ever. Really personable and anyone that I encountered was very friendly. The food portions are large and everything is so very tasty. My second time here and I would definitely come again. Make sure that you try the Mac and cheese.
Amazing food. Huge portion sizes.
The waiter and bus person was great! And the food was delicious:) We loved it! Our first time there
Very welcoming and accommodating. The waitress was so patient and super helpful. The food was amazing. Very thankful for a great place to celebrate my wife’s birthday!
