   Had a table booked for Friday 3rd January for my girlfriends bday. Got to the restaurant to find it was Completely closed. No notification of this. Even received a reminder of my booking the day I was supposed to go. Not good as I'm not from the area

   When we're seated – just after 7pm – we were advised they were out of three of their few non-fried mains. We order alternatives along with a couple sides. "Sorry, we're out of the green vegetables." Newsflash: not everyone is content to order big, greasy portions of deep-fried fish and chips. If you're running low on things enough that you could be out of them by seven, think about sourcing more ingredients. Always glad to see a restaurant on Abbeville doing a brisk business, but please respect your customers enough to actually have what's on your menu.

   Only issue is website offers two sizes of fish and chips but restaurant doesn’t! Kids menu should definitely have a mini cod and chips rather than goujons! Only one dessert on menu available! Lovely food though and fab service

   We visited The Mayfair Chippy in Abbeville Village a short while ago. The lady who waited on our table was extremely friendly, helpful and chatty. So thank you for your hospitality. I would definitely return here due to the general welcoming atmosphere. The food was delicious and so was the wine. We have a fabulous experience and I would highly recommend a visit here. Thank you very much!

   Great fish and chips and although the business has changed names since I was last there, the food remained great. Fish. Chips. Wine. Ideal.

   Had been meaning to go to the Mayfair Chippy for some time since it first opened a little while back, so was reasonably excited about going. As you approach from outside on Abbeville Rd, it looks like a lovely setting with a decent venue. However, the whole experience was completely let down by the service which was surly and unhelpful (putting it mildly). Deepy unwelcoming upon entry, we had a pregnant lady in our party and both the members of staff seemed unwilling to do anything about accommodating us which is completely unacceptable after we asked to change tables because there wasn't enough room in the booth/s towards the back. The level of poor service persisted throughout the meal which was unfortunate given the food was good and the setting pleasant. I wouldn't recommend purely based on the two waiters that were there. Whole experience was completely let down by them..!

   Very good quality food. Straightforward, no nonsense restaurant. The Battered Walley was a delight (according to my wife!)
