We had a wonderful time! First visit for me and friend who was treating me for birthday dinner. The Rosebud was fun, tasty, and the accompanying sauces were truly delightful! The Monte Cristo empanada was unique and tasty, and the accompanying sauce was just right - not too sweet but sweet and tangy enough to beautifully complement the empanada. Our salmon dishes were prepared perfectly, one medium well and one well done, and every item plated with the salmon was perfect and unique. We ended our meal with the tres leches, which was delicious even for someone like me who usually is not a fan of this dessert. Our server Cesar was fantastic. He was very detail-oriented, personable, informative and helpful, from explaining the name of the restaurant, the concept, the background of the owner/chef, and pointing out personal memorabilia of the owner to making great suggestions about menu items and wine pairings. A pianist playing beautiful and familiar music was a wonderful surprise that added to the warm, inviting, contemporary yet homey vibe to the restaurant. Can’t wait to return.

Great plates - delicious and super creative presentations. The drinks, however, were very so-so, and I ordered their most popular one The Grenergy. There is fine print on the menu that there is a $12 “stage fee” per table for the live music. Obviously, we didn’t read that so questioned it. Why not just add a buck to each item instead?

Great food and service in a fun atmosphere! Truffle twinkies melt in your mouth and ceviche has good flavor and a little spice, pairs nicely with the rosespud chips to dip in the ceviche. Cocktails were great, really enjoyed the Lion's tail, will return for happy hour/dinner. Tres leches and alfajores are both delicious desserts that will melt in your mouth.

I took a friend to celebrate her birthday over lunch and the entire experience was fantastic. I called ahead and they had a bottle of bubbles delivered as soon as we were seated. Our server was quick to make recommendations, all of which were amazing. I am looking forward to taking my husband for dinner as I am eager to try more of the menu.

My wife and I had our first dinner last night at Lymbar and we thought it was outstanding. We loved the food, the ambiance, the service and most importantly, the people. David Cordua is a terrific chef and owner. We have known him for years and he is a creative chef with a welcoming personality. There are many best foods and we highly recommend it for everyone.

I love the empanada trio. You get a chance to try all three types of empanadas. We also had the ceviche, churrasco bites, beef tenderloin tacos, potato chips, tres leches and alfajores. All so excellent. This was my second time visiting his month. Also we had an excellent waiter with great service. He even remembered me from my first visit. You need to try this place for sure!

The space was adorable. Very MOD look. Good mixture of masculine and feminine feature. Food was very good! My fiancée and I ordered: truffle twinkies, chicken chicharrones, trio de empanadas, corn smoked lamb chops, stuff chicken ballotine and the foie gras doughnut holes. Twinkies and empanadas are a must (preferred the beef kofta one the best but all was delicious). The dessert was not a traditional sweet dessert. It had a lot of savory factors in it to make it unique. If you’re a triple chocolate cake type dessert person than this is not for you. The foie gras was savory with a slight brûlée to give it that sweet and salty taste. I would definitely come back and try all the other things.

My friend and I met for lunch at the Lymbar. The food was spectacular, the service was the perfect blend of friendly and professional. We appreciated the design of the space which is attractive and more importantly, manages the acoustics so that you can have a conversation without shouting. We will be back.

My office is in the Ion, and The Lymbar has become my go-to spot for business entertaining, meals with my colleagues, my work meetings with leadership, and could become lunch with friends just as equally. The atmosphere cannot be beat. They have deep red velvet long booths, standard dark wood table tops, high tops at two different bar counters where they serve meals, not only cocktails. The ambiance is that of an old Hollywood steakhouse (think Dan Tana’s) with an updated vibe and decor. It’s beautiful, and having tables outside the open sliding glass walls in the Ion lobby area is also a nice touch. It’s a great place to entertain and a beautiful place for an upscale happy hour.

Music was fairly loud and seemed to be not fitting the supposed demographic that they are trying for. Food was fine, nothing really noteworthy or standout. Overall ambience was good, I liked the design and furnishings enough. Our wait staff were friendly and helpful, though the Mgr (I think) came by once to drop off something, never smiled, never said a word. I guess we were welcomed to be there.

My dad was visiting this past weekend, and we decided to try out the Lymbar. The inside is beautiful! We were promptly seated when we came in. We had cocktails that were delicious, and our food (lamb chops for him and snapper for me) was fantastic as well. The one big drawback was the service. I know that Lymbar opened very recently, so we attributed this to them still working out the kinks. Our server seemed very nervous/uncomfortable; we felt like it was maybe one of his first nights working there. He was nice, but too overbearing, and was at our table too frequently. He forgot to bring us water several times, and he never took our menus after we ordered. He additionally came to our table multiple times after we had clearly finished eating, and he did not clear the plates. Additionally, there is a “chefs table” section towards the front. While this is a cool idea, their bar is quite small, and I personally think it’s a waste of space to have the chef’s table area. I think they could bring in even more business if they made the chef’s table into another bar and offered food there. Just my opinion though. Overall, the interior and food were great. I would definitely consider going back in a couple months after they have gained more footing with the service.

The food was rather delicious. I thought everything was excellent. The salads were stand out for me because I am a salad person and I tried both the Cesar and the cucumber, garbanzo beans salads. The Churrasco was amazing. I do think he should do the chimichurri sauce, even though I probably understand why he’s not. He has made some excellent sauces that he serves with the potato chip appetizer. However, that appetizer is huge and it takes up the middle of the table and they only give you two little dishes of sauce with it that are too small to dip the chip in. Plus, if they are on one side of the table the other people can’t get to the sauces because of the large display of chips in the way. The lamb chops, or smoky and excellent as was the Churrasco. empanadas are also a thing here, but I didn’t try them on myself. I thought that the wine list for by the glass a nice job meeting my needs and the cocktails were lovely. The restaurant is completely beautiful and small enough to feel intimate. It’s super comfortable so you can go out for dinner here or even if you don’t feel like sitting upright in a chair! All in all, I would say, go visit this young chef, and comes out to the table to say hi, and try his interesting complex flavors in a beautiful setting. I gave the service for stars just because they got slammed and our four top got a little bit ignored

Super spot and you have to love the Cordua's....they give back a LOT to the H-town community. The drinks were excellent. The food was very good. The ambiance / buildout is fun and comfortable. I very much enjoyed the jazzy band, but it did get awfully loud at times when we were trying to converse with our friends.

I like this new restaurant in the Ion. It’s upscale enough for a nice business lunch with clients or colleagues, and it’s also perfectly fine for meeting friends or family for a bite to eat. I’ve only had lunch there, but the Lymbar definitely has a nice vibe for happy hours or cocktails in the evening. It has that beautiful decor of dark red leather booths, subtle ambient lighting, and dark wood tables and accents with a pretty bar and backlit bottles. The restaurant opens by sliding glass doors into the Ion, so it has good airflow and an openness that’s adds a bit of “cafe vibe,” as well. The three meals I have tried have all been absolutely delicious. The burger is just the right size for a lunch that is not heavy, and it’s accompanied by only a few steak fries. The pasta with mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes in cream sauce is rich, but it makes for great comfort food and was perfect on the cold day I ordered it. The beautifully-served trio of empanadas was out of this world perfect! You can order a mix of whichever ones you want, but I got one of each as there are three options. They were all excellent. I highly recommend the trio! The pricing offers something for everyone and a spectrum of occasions. You can order dishes under $20 just as easily as you can order steak or seafood for $45. As for dress, I’ve gone in business casual, but anything goes. The restaurant is in a Tech-focused building, so you could see jeans and sneakers or a group of men and women in suits. I would say come as you are with the budget you have and enjoy the original dishes of well-though-out, Latin-inspired unique offerings for entrees!

We really liked the Lymbar. We ordered the previously raved about twinkies and churrasco bites and loved them. Had the duck and pasta ( subbed octopus for chicken) entrees and both were yummy. We had theatre tickets so we were on a schedule. Our waiter timed everything perfectly for us. The restaurant stamps your valet ticket so there is no charge for parking. Made for a great night. We will go back.

Great place! Only complaint was that I ordered a cocktail with a large craft ice cube, but the cube wasn’t tempered before coming in contact with the drink, so it cracked and wasn’t clear in the end. : ) New place, new crew, so I imagine they will teach their bartenders how to work with craft ice. Otherwise great atmosphere, great food and great cocktails. Keep it up!
