About this restaurant

  • Great for happy hour
  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
Our family's story in Texas begins on Lymbar Drive where Robert and Dora Cordua moved from Managua, Nicaragua. There, multiple generations and parties with wine, whiskey, rich food, music and chimichurri perfumed the walls. We invite you to experience our heritage, our hospitality and our roots in the city of Houston. We are an all day neighborhood craft cocktail bar and open theatre kitchen specializing in latin and mediterranean small plates and shareables. No rules. Good greenergy. Buenas vibras.

We had been to a dinner catered by Lymbar recently and thought the food was excellent. We decided to head here for dinner with my nephew and his fiancee. Our dinner was very good. Service was solid. And, remarkable for many restaurants, the red wines by the glass were served at cellar temperature, not Houston room temperature plus. A thoroughly enjoyable experience for all of us.

I chose Lymbar for a lunch before business meeting near Midtown/Museum District. Good number of people, but not too crowded. Food was amazing. It’s a nice option to order smaller dishes off of happy hour menu, especially to share. Definitely get the hummus or empanadas. I had the kale and peanut salad. Big portion and tasty with peanut dressing. Service was great. Free parking too.

Our initial server was quite rude, short, and felt inconvenienced by us. When I asked for another mezcalarita but less sugar or just agave rather than OJ she replied “can I just make it regularly?”, which is not appropriate. When she left and Claire switched to our table it was like we were in a completely new restaurant. Drinks were better, timely check ins, and a great attitude. We will come back just after 5pm

Loved it as always--we tried all the pastas, and every single one was so good, but the carbonara was a standout. Cocktails are always lovely and creative, and the tres leches is to die for.

I made reservations for a party of 11 for a prom event with no problems. The service was excellent, the interior was absolutely gorgeous, and we plan to return.

A beautiful fusion of Mediterranean and Latin inspired cuisine, with an amazing selection of timeless cocktails. The bar is a one of a kind exotic art piece. Amazing craftsmanship. The unique and cozy restaurant is also full of wonderful art that you are able to purchase if you like. And a grand piano for date night. The service is over and beyond any establishment in the Houston area, due to its deep roots in the unmatched excellence of customer service. Highly highly recommend.

Had a great experience here — food, ambience, service were all perfect! They allowed us to sit in the private room for a party of 11 without specifically reserving it and this room was amazing for celebrating our special occasion.
