Been coming here for high tea for years and I have to say the portions (scones, sweets & sandwiches) got much smaller (by more than half) while the price per person went up by $50. I've always considered the Peninsula's high tea the best in the city but not anymore. The slim sandwiches were also not as tasty this time; the tiny scones were hard; the shrunken sweets not as plentiful.

They changed the curry chicken salad sandwich at tea - that was the best one! They need to bring it back. The new ones aren’t that great.

Beautiful hotel. Food was outstanding. Service was good but found myself pouring my own tea very often. Maybe you’re suppose too?! But, seemed like that was something that the server preferred to do. Noise level was a little louder than I’d hope. Loud talking drowned out the music and hard to hear my table companions speak without having to raise our own voices. Table next to us decided to bring their toddler, which is inappropriate in my opinion. This isn’t a place for a small child who can’t eat the food or sit still for two plus hours. Too expensive to be disrupted by screams and crying. Also would have preferred to be seated at an actual table rather than a coffee table. Leaving over to eat my food was uncomfortable. I get the “living room” vibe, but why have some tables and some coffee tables? Harp music was beautiful. They played happy birthday on the harp and everyone at our table got a birthday dessert. All and all it was lovely and a special treat for a special event.

Great service! Stunning presentation. Was bummed they were out of the black rose tea. For a $200 tea experience they should have all the teas available. The ambience would have been lovely except for the screaming baby. Hard to enjoy the the live harp and ambience with a screaming baby. Very much a vibe killer.

My daughter and I enjoyed the Afternoon Tea (her birthday) on Sunday, April 13. We experienced impeccable and attentive service; delicious and varied food.. The highly-professional staff went above and beyond, and made every effort to accommodate us. Beautiful and serene surroundings, accented with the calming sounds of a harpist, made for the perfect tea setting. The elegant presentation of the tiered food offerings was stunning! The desserts - although tempting, creative, and delicious. - were much too sweet. Would have preferred only two desserts with more sandwiches or scones. Regardless, it was a beautiful afternoon, and do plan on returning..

A gorgeous memorable experience. Everything from the ambiance, to service, to food/tea were superb. Truthfully, given price, I didn't think there could be any way this would be worth it, but it was a special occasion, so we splurged. I was so wrong. I cannot wait to go back. You feel like royalty in your own palace. 10/10.
