I wasn’t expecting to write a bad review for the Living room as I’d heard so many great things but it’s was a pretty mediocre experience and certainly not worth the money. The food was not fresh. Obviously prepped in advance and delivered to the table a while later, the sandwiches were stale, scones were dry. The service was great, so friendly and timely. The ambience would have been great but for a large table in the centre of the room who were so loud they took over the whole vibe of the room leading to a very loud, vary un-afternoon tea experience. All in all it was a very expensive afternoon tea that wasn’t worth the money. Go to the The Belvedere instead. Much better.

These people know what's up. Pure excellence from the moment you roll on in. The Afternoon Tea was incredible from Patricia greeting us with the warmest smile to Eduardo & the other lovely 'Teaboys' (as I called them. In my head :-) ) looking after your table with a cool precision, friendliness & skill. Harp music was magical & the room itself is beautiful. A true oasis, made even better by the fabulous staff. Tea sandwiches, cakes & scones - from heaven! Unique, delicious & deceptively filling. Don't let the delicate look & size fool you! Tea itself was amazing, hot & severed consistently. My cup was always full. Champers, of course, totally yum. Drinking stars in the city of stars - Fantastic. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Yes, yes. Will I be going back? Yes, yes, YES! The young lady at the next table gave it "Infinity stars!.." I concur!

The Living Room at The Peninsula hotel is the most lovely setting for tea with a harpist playing beautiful music. The service is exceptionally gracious and professional. The scones are also warm and absolutely delicious. However, the tea sandwiches and sweets are really below standard . The bread on all of the sandwiches was dry and had obviously been sitting out and not freshly made. The fillings were bland and tasteless. The chicken salad was inedible. The sweets were average and also lacked flavor. The chef needs to address these issues at the high price point. The lovely setting and outstanding service deserve better!

The tea and the Champagne were very lovely. Service was outstanding. The elegant setting and the property’s attention to detail truly the most important elements here. Scones are divine. The savory finger sandwiches outshined the sweet crumpets.

My friends and I recently indulged in the afternoon tea at The Peninsula Beverly Hills, and it was nothing short of enchanting. From the moment we entered The Living Room, with its plush velvet sofas and the gentle melodies of a live harpist, we felt transported to a world of elegance and tranquility. We opted for the Traditional Tea service, which included a glass of Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne. The experience began with a refreshing serving of strawberries and cream, setting the tone for the delights to follow. The three-tiered tray presented an array of savory sandwiches—our favorites being the house-smoked salmon with caviar-lemon cream cheese and the English cucumber with Meyer lemon crème fraîche. The sweet offerings, including yuzu matcha puffs and lemon elderflower cap cakes, were both visually stunning and delectable. The scones, served warm with Devonshire cream and house-made jams, were a highlight, embodying the perfect balance of crusty exterior and soft interior. The tea selection was extensive, catering to all our preferences, and the staff ensured our cups were never empty. What truly set this experience apart was the impeccable service. The staff was attentive and gracious, making us feel pampered throughout our visit. The ambiance, combined with the culinary delights and exceptional service, made for an unforgettable afternoon. For anyone seeking a luxurious and memorable high tea experience in Los Angeles, The Peninsula Beverly Hills is a must-visit.

Absolutely wonderful experience at afternoon tea and possibly the best I’ve ever had. You are promptly greeted and brought to a truly beautifully set table. The room isn’t huge and feels rather intimate, not like you’re in a large production just looking to pump through people. They have a harpist playing music which adds to the pleasant and sophisticated ambiance. Service was incredible, so warm and helpful. We got the endless champagne option (the rose option is wonderful) and both our champagne glasses and our tea cups never got below halfway without someone refilling. I finished my pot of tea with about 10 minutes left in our seating and they still brought me a fresh full pot right away. They do not skimp and make you feel constantly cared for. The food was truly stunning and also a rather filling selection that’s actually a full meal with enough to bring a few treats home; again they do not cut any corners and provide huge value in their offerings. We used up the lemon curd and jam options for the scones quickly, it was so delicious, and they gladly brought us more when asked. I chose the earl grey crème tea and it was delicious, needed no cream, honey or otherwise (although they do make those readily available on the table for anyone who prefers that). Honestly a magical experience that I’d recommend over and over.
