The epitome of classic New England dining, our rolling lawn is a timeless Newport icon. After decades of entertaining, The Lawn at Castle Hill is as much a tradition as it is a restaurant. This time of year, we offer the menu of casual favorites from the comfort of the historic mansion with ocean-view windows on all sides – as well as in the cozy Mansion Bar. There is no better way to spend a crisp fall afternoon than with a cup of our classic clam chowder, a succulent burger, or a spiked glass of mulled wine. Each Sunday our chefs prepare traditional brunch items paired with live jazz music as well, a perfect way to round out a winter weekend. Reservations are available for lunch & brunch beginning at 11:30am, while the Mansion Bar is “first-come, first served” beginning at 11:30am.

Nice service, great atmosphere. The food was special. The chef has a great talent for subtly
balancing flavors to compliment but not overwhelm the main ingredients.

Great place for Valentine's day.

This is not the first time we have dined at the inn. It is always consistent, great food, service, and view! Love it!

I went with a friend for a Christmas lunch. The are no words to describe the panoramic view from the dining room. It was a cloudy, rainy day and it didn’t matter. You could have served me a grilled cheese and tomato soup and I would not have noticed, but the food was superb. I had the chicken and andouille gumbo which was flavorful with just the right amount of heat. My friend had the lobster roll which was dressed in tarragon and creme fraiche - perfect with homemade potato chips. The Christmas decorations combined with the old world charm of the building is the perfect setting to put you in the holiday spirit.

Excellent day once again! Food, view, service were all top notch. It was so cold and windy outside but got a great shot from inside the sunset room. And sunset was beautiful!

Tremendous location and views. Loved the food during Restaurant Week. Very accommodating in allowing us to have a Sunroom table. Plan to visit again.

Castle Hill is always a exquisite place to dine and lunch during Restaurant Week was no exception. It is in a class by itself.

Impressive. Spectacular meal. So good in fact that I made reservations for another visit before I left. Attentive service from a staff with perfect manners. The location is beyond compare. The chefs garden and the roses still in bloom even though it is November. Castle Hill Inn is my favorite place to feel as if I've gone on a vacation. Enchanting!

Breathtaking location with impeccable service. Sunday brunch , particularly during Newport Restaurant Week, is a highlight that should not be missed.

What is not to like about the Lawn at the Castle Hill Inn. The views are breathtaking and it is a scene out of a novel or movie. The service is excellent and the food is good. It helped that there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

For many years this has been an annual pilgrimage for our family when visiting the East coast, despite the overcast sky yesterday, it was wonderful to be there. Blankets were provided to offset the chill in the air. Inside dining was an option but we like it outside.

My husband & I were celebrating our birthdays and the Castle Hill staff treated us like family. They addressed us by name, gave us a lovely table and comped our desserts.
We actually made our reservation for the patio, but the wind was brisk, so we discovered that they reserve an indoor table at the time of reservation in case weather is questionable.
I had the Surf and Turf Burger (it was lunch) and my husband had the Haddock. For dessert, I had the Key Lime Pie and my husband had a Pear/cranberry Crisp. Lovely!
Castle Hill's Restaurant is a little pricey for "every day", but the service, ambiance, and food are well worth a visit.

We are outside on "the lawn." Wonderful food, great service and unbelievable views. If we had more time, would have spent the afternoon there!

My friends and I ate at Castle Hill for a birthday celebration. It was mid-day on a weekday. Our appetizer took about an hour, we were offered bread one hour into our meal (after the appetizer), we had to flag our server down for a second round of drinks and we had to rush through our entrees when they finally arrived to make another appointment. The food was delicious, but the service was just too bad to get past. I can understand if it's busy, but I didn't see our server with any other table. We were also surrounded by bees during the entire meal. We mentioned it to our server and she ignored our requests to wash away the spilled drink on the ground that was attracting them. A family was seated at the bee table and had to relocate. Overall, very disappointing for amazing food to be accompanied by such poor service.
