Wonderful place to eat for a special occasion or anytime. Even the bad New England weather couldn't dampen how special this place is. I highly recommend it.
Our server was wonderful. Attentive, funny and welcoming. Castle Hill dining is always a special experience. Thank you!
Productive lunch . Weather allowed us to be seated outside.
Food, service excellent.
60th birthday party
It’s was a lovely lunch and the view was amazing - there will be many happy returns. Thanks.
Gorgeous even on a dreary April showers day. Service second to none.
Had a lovely midweek lunch at a table with a million dollar view over the waters of Newport. Could not ask for better ambience
Absolutely loved everything about this place. The food was fantastic, the view was beautiful and the service was great. Would definitely recommend.
I am a Newport Restaurant Group member and enjoy dining at all their restaurants. Castle Hill is clearly the gem of the group. Excellent cuisine and location. Only grump is that they do not offer gluten free rolls rather they offer gluten free toast which is not a good pairing with dinner fare.
The food was delicious, the view was incredible and the staff’s attention to detail made it a very special occasion! Thank you.
Very nice located. Very good food
it was our first time in newport, and castle hill inn made it so much more special! the food and service were both top notch and the place is just absolutely gorgeous - it was quite cold and windy outside when we visited, but we could not help ourselves but walk around the property to take a look. we particularly enjoyed the brisket burger - it was simply perfect. we also got the clam chowder, clam frittes, gumbo, fruit sorbet, and s'mores pudding. the s'mores pudding was a little too much even for me with a giant sweet tooth - the only item we would not recommend. otherwise -- this is a must try!
A friend and I visited Castle Hill during Newport's restaurant week. We chose it because it has a lovely view, a great reputation, and offered many interesting options on the lunch menu. The day was rainy and damp, but we sat in a smallish room, view of the water, and a crackling fire in the fireplace. We enjoyed our 3 course lunches and afterward sat and chatted for quite a while. We never felt rushed. Castle Hill can be quite pricey, but it is a treat-a perfect choice for a special occasion.
You don't expect great food for lunch and especially during restaurant week, but the food was superb with excellent attention to presentation, flavor and taste. I want to come back in the summer as it is the best view in Newport.
This is my favorite waterfront restaurant. The view is spectacular, the food is great and the staff are friendly and professional. This place can't be beat whatever the occasion.
Wonderful brunch! Great service with an amazing view! We had a fabulous afternoon!!
Sunday brunch was excellent; the food was delicious, the service impeccable and even the valets were friendly and polite. Nice atmosphere and music. We will return; great experience!
LOVED it here. Oysters were delicious and salmon was perfectly cooked. Everything was top notch! Friendly service and beautiful dining room view.
Service and food were excellent. Setting and ambiance the same. Our favorite special place in Newport.
Nice service, great atmosphere. The food was special. The chef has a great talent for subtly
balancing flavors to compliment but not overwhelm the main ingredients.
Great place for Valentine's day.
Wonderful view and great food!
This is not the first time we have dined at the inn. It is always consistent, great food, service, and view! Love it!
I went with a friend for a Christmas lunch. The are no words to describe the panoramic view from the dining room. It was a cloudy, rainy day and it didn’t matter. You could have served me a grilled cheese and tomato soup and I would not have noticed, but the food was superb. I had the chicken and andouille gumbo which was flavorful with just the right amount of heat. My friend had the lobster roll which was dressed in tarragon and creme fraiche - perfect with homemade potato chips. The Christmas decorations combined with the old world charm of the building is the perfect setting to put you in the holiday spirit.
Its a wonderful place, been there many times and will go there again. Highly recommended
Excellent day once again! Food, view, service were all top notch. It was so cold and windy outside but got a great shot from inside the sunset room. And sunset was beautiful!
Very beautiful location with great views and very good food
Tremendous location and views. Loved the food during Restaurant Week. Very accommodating in allowing us to have a Sunroom table. Plan to visit again.
Always good and well worth the drive
Castle Hill is always a exquisite place to dine and lunch during Restaurant Week was no exception. It is in a class by itself.
Impressive. Spectacular meal. So good in fact that I made reservations for another visit before I left. Attentive service from a staff with perfect manners. The location is beyond compare. The chefs garden and the roses still in bloom even though it is November. Castle Hill Inn is my favorite place to feel as if I've gone on a vacation. Enchanting!
Breathtaking location with impeccable service. Sunday brunch , particularly during Newport Restaurant Week, is a highlight that should not be missed.
Everything was wonderful. First visit during Restaurant week, we'll be back.
amazing food, great views. everything was perfect. we'll be back.
First impression was not the greatest, however the manager Juan and our waiter Matt was fantastic
What is not to like about the Lawn at the Castle Hill Inn. The views are breathtaking and it is a scene out of a novel or movie. The service is excellent and the food is good. It helped that there wasn't a cloud in the sky.
Perfect location for a beautiful sunny fall afternoon lunch!
For many years this has been an annual pilgrimage for our family when visiting the East coast, despite the overcast sky yesterday, it was wonderful to be there. Blankets were provided to offset the chill in the air. Inside dining was an option but we like it outside.
My husband & I were celebrating our birthdays and the Castle Hill staff treated us like family. They addressed us by name, gave us a lovely table and comped our desserts.
We actually made our reservation for the patio, but the wind was brisk, so we discovered that they reserve an indoor table at the time of reservation in case weather is questionable.
I had the Surf and Turf Burger (it was lunch) and my husband had the Haddock. For dessert, I had the Key Lime Pie and my husband had a Pear/cranberry Crisp. Lovely!
Castle Hill's Restaurant is a little pricey for "every day", but the service, ambiance, and food are well worth a visit.
We are outside on "the lawn." Wonderful food, great service and unbelievable views. If we had more time, would have spent the afternoon there!
My friends and I ate at Castle Hill for a birthday celebration. It was mid-day on a weekday. Our appetizer took about an hour, we were offered bread one hour into our meal (after the appetizer), we had to flag our server down for a second round of drinks and we had to rush through our entrees when they finally arrived to make another appointment. The food was delicious, but the service was just too bad to get past. I can understand if it's busy, but I didn't see our server with any other table. We were also surrounded by bees during the entire meal. We mentioned it to our server and she ignored our requests to wash away the spilled drink on the ground that was attracting them. A family was seated at the bee table and had to relocate. Overall, very disappointing for amazing food to be accompanied by such poor service.
