   The food was amazing, restaurant is super clean and lively without being too loud. Our service was poor, with food missing from our kids’ meals, my husband’s meal was rung in wrong (wrong item off the menu), and my allergy was completely missed (so I just ate the steak and gave the rest to my husband to eat). Our server was barely at the table and it was other servers who brought us all our food (3 different times).

   I am usually at other Keg locations in Calgary for business. 4th or Crowfoot. Always have a good experience. A less than average experience tonight at a different location. With Crowfoot being booked up we decided on Market Mall. We were seated and waited 15 minutes for a server to acknowledge us. We pulled over a server passing by and finally ordered drinks as our guests were soon arriving. Everything was fine until the food and drinks arrived. - Our Old Fashioneds tasted like pre-mixed cocktails. They certainly did not taste hand crafted. - My pistachio crusted salmon was barely warm. - My wife’s steak was undercooked and sinewy. (Extremely uncommon. Our steaks are typically perfect at The Keg.) - Most frustrating was our guest’s meal. He ordered a steak and lobster tail. The lobster tail arrived 30+ minutes after his steak was served! A manager came to apologize and comp’d the lobster tail, but that didn’t remedy our group’s poor experience much. As a regular, our dining experience was sub-par for The Keg’s typical high standards. Certainly nowhere near the great food experience I typically receive at the aforementioned locations.

   We’ve always appreciated The Keg for its consistency and atmosphere, but our recent visit to the Market Mall location on the occasion of our younger son's 18th birthday left us genuinely disappointed — particularly when it came to the drinks and one of the main courses. Both the Famous Keg Caesar and The Keg Old Fashioned were major letdowns. Famous Keg Caesar was bland and forgettable. It lacked the bold, spicy character that makes a Caesar memorable. There was barely any seasoning, the rim was sloppy, and the garnish didn’t do it any favours. It tasted more like watered-down tomato juice than a proper cocktail. The Keg Old Fashioned missed the classic mark completely. Barely any whiskey kick, and no depth of flavor. A muddled version of a drink that should be smooth, rich, and balanced. No noticeable orange twist aroma or any bitters either. It felt more like a generic whiskey cocktail than the refined drink it's supposed to be. It felt like the bar was going through the motions with zero passion behind the pour. Oven Roasted Salmon with Garlic Mashed Potato: was another letdown. The salmon was slightly undercooked, with little seasoning or flavor to save it. The garlic mashed potatoes were decent but nothing to write home about — lukewarm and not particularly garlicky. The dish felt more like banquet fare than the quality you’d expect at The Keg. Overall, the service was friendly, and the ambiance is what you’d expect from The Keg — warm and polished. But when the drinks fall flat and the food lacks care, it’s hard to justify the price point. The Keg usually holds a higher standard, so hopefully this was just an off night. Still, we’ll be thinking twice before ordering cocktails or salmon here again.

   Horrible food. Prime rib was served in 3 chunks of mush. The 20oz rib eye ordered medium rare was well done and chewy. $400 bill and McDonald’s would have tasted better.

    We had a great family dinner. Our waitress was outstanding with her service. The Keg is always great.
