The Ivy St John's Wood
We always keep a number of tables unreserved throughout the day, allowing you to sample our range of café-style menus at your leisure from breakfast until late, or you can simply pop in for a drink and some nibbles – zucchini fritti and truffle arancini are amongst our favourites.
Open seven days a week, The Ivy St John’s Wood includes outdoor Parisian style street seating, and brings some of the familiarity and charm of The Ivy brand to the already fashionable St John’s Wood.
Service a bit slow but food very good.
Excellent food and happy to see vegan choices on the menu.
I love all The Ivy restaurant - great food and decor. Highly recommend their malted banana dessert in particular!
A really nice local place for a good quality meal.
Excellent food and really good service.
Afternoon tea was average, dry sandwiches. Scones only worthwhile item. Got our order wrong several times. Definitely not recommended. Sad to see the Ivy on such a low level.
good formula - £60+ for 2 gin and tonics, fish n chips and a shrimp and avocado burger on the high side but its a nice warm cosy place service is attentive noise level a bit high - but most would enjoy that
Excellent food. Good portions and excellent service. Comfortable seating as well. Steak was very very good.
The food was lovely except for 1 minor issue, I ordered a medium steak and was served well done, I didn’t complain as it was still juicy as it’s clearly good quality meat. I love the ivy and will definitely be back. The banana dessert is epic
Saw the mixed reviews but can honestly say this place is great. The food was lovely and the service was excellent. I was hugely impressed.
Amazing food and good ambience. Attentive service. We definitely come back again!
Good food for the price point and nice cocktails. The staff were a highlight, very attentive and very friendly
chips were cold and dryed up!! second portion came same problem!!! third time we had great hot chips!!!!!
Enjoying every time we come, delicious like French food, attentive service and beautiful restaurant
The menu and food didn’t have the wow factor for the price.
The place was very busy and the service was so poor that they deducted 10% off our final bill.
Not the place for me.
Lovely meal, great value and a good experience. The service was efficient and positive but not particularly friendly or relaxed. All in all though we would be very happy to return.
Very nice. Service a lot slower than usual but think they just forgot our order. Ambience and food good. Nice waiters.
Family of four, visited for dinner starting at 8pm Friday. The place was busy but had a nice and relaxed atmosphere, friendly and attentive waiters/waitresses, well presented and great tasting food - overall...amazing!
Very good.BUT ,3.50 for a 200ml CocaCola is very bad value. A usuall size 330ml is normal. Also the set dessert gave teaspoon size Icream scoops. Again poor value. Having said that the rest was excellent especially the fish and chips. Delicious.
Probably the 10th time I've visited the St John's Wood Ivy.
1st class every time. It's not cheap- but where is.
The food and service are right up there. The venue classy but relaxed.
The only thing- the 1st bottle of wine the waitress got us-she just poured, both glasses-no tasting-and it was a little on the warm side. The 2nd bottle-waiter came with bottle and fresh glass for tasting.
Will return for sure.Thanks
Had a fabulous lunchtime with 'The Girls' - we were left in peace to chat as long as we wanted and the food was perfect. Thank you another lovely time at The Ivy.
Go often and bring friends however
This time food not good as my fish overcooked even though I asked pink. They dealt with it well but giving me sauces to moist it and then not charging but disappointing especially as I brought our friend who can for the first time here
Really pleasantly suprised. Room decor is lovely, was expecting it to be underwhelming, but food was delicious, service delightful and we felt that the prices were what you would expect. Certainly want to go back.
I have eaten there many times and the food was good. However on Saturday the food was terrible. The fish was overcooked and hard .
Staff friendly and helpful, food delicious. Very busy so book beforehand
Great event evening with friends. Good
food, good ambiance
Excellent atmosphere, wonderful food and inspired service equaled a memorable evening out
We were there at 5:45pm for an early dinner, a very quiet time of the evening. We asked for a table by the window. However we were made to sit right next to the party room where there was a very noisy children's party going on. Even though the whole restaurant only had 3 table occupied. Could not understand the reason behind such thoughtlessness.
The waiter was extremely annoying... along with our wine we ordered a bottle of sparkling water..oh "a Virgin Prosecco" he said ...no ...just a bottle of sparkling water please. We are 2 professional women - know your audience . Food was average ...half chicken overcooked and dry. Fries had been kept warm for some time and were inedible. Changed without a fuss ...but should never have been served. We won't be returning.
Yummy food and great service.
We were celebrating a birthday by having afternoon tea. Presentation and taste was excellent. The service was attentive yet not intrusive. Thank for making my daughter’s afternoon.
I like that all the Ivy Cafe’s look the same and have the same menus.
The St John’s wood restaurant was noisy as it was very busy but had a good buzz about it.
The serving staff could have smiled from time to time - it would have improved the whole experience.
The food was excellent
Excellent service and good food. Couldn’t have asked for more. First time but definitely not the last. Brilliant.
We had a really lovely lunch . Staff could not have been more helpful and our lunch was delicious. Will definitely go back .
Was amazing, every guest loved food, thank a lot.
Yet again fab!! Love the food and the service is always wonderful
While the food itself was good, we had a very long (c.1 hour) wait for our main courses. One was incorrect and had to be replaced, as did a cold side dish of potato’s. The waiter did take the dishes off our bill, but overall not a good experience compared to previous visits to the Ivy.
There were 4 of us: the two men had the lamb rump and the ladies the blackened cod. Service was good, but the lamb was tough. My friend pointed this out to the waiter and he appeared to take note. When the bill came, an allowance of £8.50 had been made just for ONE of the lamb dishes - even though the dishes were identical. Because I was parking the car I was the last arrive, and found my friends had already been seated at a small, rather cramped round table right by the door (next to the curtain). Behind us there was a larger vacant table for 4 against the wall: this table remained empty for over an hour! Why we were not offered this table is a mystery - especially as I had booked the day before. We would have enjoyed the occasion more if a little extra care had been taken.
Wonderful evening meal celebrating my wife’s birthday , excellent food and service and even when a slight mix up with the mains (wrong sauce on wrong steak) , it was immediately corrected and bill adjusted to compensate without us even asking . Will definitely be heading back there soon , as now our favourite local restaurant.
