Disappointed to be positioned right next to a family with young loud children and happy to be reseated in a much quieter adult area! Felt it was a very over rated restaurant.

Lovely friendly staff and good to see some trainees, learning their responsibilities from the more experienced staff. Food was lovely - as usual. Bit noisier than I was expecting but plenty of space between tables meant it was bearable.

So Awful!! The restaurant is lovely looking but quickly turned ugly. After 15 minutes of being ignored in an empty restaurant, my husband went to the bar for our drinks. An unpleasant waitress approached and was zero help. We had to stop anyone we could find to order. The food was ok but the service was so oddly bad, we couldn’t wait to leave. No one knew when to clear dirty plates, or offer anything else. Finally, a nice man in a suit came over and apologized then reduced our bill. That was the right thing to do. A beautiful space but someone needs to retrain the staff.

I took my daughter to the Ivy for afternoon tea. birthday treat! Waiter was quite rude, he forgot to bring the water. When the afternoon read arrived clotted cream was missing from one stand. It was very difficult to get the waiting staffs attention. Extremely busy and certainly not enough attention to paying customers!

Love the Ivy restaurants and visit them throughout the city regularly. The ambience is lovely. However, the service at this location is atrocious. When we arrived we were sat at a table next to the kitchen where the floor beneath vibrated. We asked for a different table and were told ‘no problem’ we’ll set it for you. 20 minutes later the table had not been set and we had not been acknowledged by any wait staff. We got up and sat at the table and finally someone came and set the table for us. We waited another 5 minutes for our menus, another 5 to get a drink and then 15 minutes or more to have our order taken. The food arrived quickly but then our empty plates sat in front of us for at least 30 minutes after we finished eating. We were never offered another drink. We were given a dessert menu and then waited another 20 minutes to see if we wanted anything. Meanwhile the couple next to us had also asked for a different table and waited 30 minutes. We told them to move to the table and then they may be helped. They did and someone came to set the table but she was super rude. Overall absolutely dismal service. I think we’ll stick to other locations from now on.

Sadly our experience did not meet our expectations which was a shame as we were out to celebrate a special occasion. We were seated promptly but, whilst our booking request for garden seating was accommodated, the tables were crammed together and we were squeezed onto a table where one of the chairs was literally almost touching that of another diner on an adjoining table. Given the too close proximity, we were not comfortable at this table and asked to be moved which, after referral to a manager, was facilitated. We placed our order for pre-meal cocktails/drinks at the same time as providing our food order. Our drinks were supplied at the same time as our starters with no time to enjoy our drinks beforehand. The bread order was also forgotten although was supplied quickly afterwards. There was no separate cutlery provided for any of our starters, leaving for example, a large knife and fork to eat a prawn cocktail with! Our main course arrived as soon as we had finished our starters at which time we had not even been able to finish the drinks we had ordered to drink ahead of our starters. Consequently, we were not then ready for the bottle of wine ordered to accompany our main courses. The food overall was quite good although the steak ordered to be “medium rare” was overcooked and the fish batter was quite mushy. Nobody checked on how our meals were or if we were happy, nor offered to replenish our wine glasses at any point. Once our main courses had been finished, we were left, for what we felt to be an unreasonable length of time, with our plates not cleared and decided then that we would request the bill rather than stay for desserts/coffees. The garden setting is beautiful but unfortunately the wish to accommodate too many diners/tables detracts from the beauty. Additionally, whilst the person serving us was very nice, staff did not seem to have the time/or will to provide a level of service to make their diners feel valued.

I love the garden at this restaurant - however on this occasion the service was poor. Our waiter was very slow and not very helpful. The food was disappointment - I had same meal at Ivy Cobham and it was delicious. Although the veal was well cooked the green beans were hard and inedible. We never received goth coffee ew had requested and had to leave. Very disappointing. Zoe Baldwin 07831 576895

Sat outside in the lovely garden but ordered drinks at bar because we were slightly early. We were then taken to the table & it took 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Our mains arrived within 3 minutes of our shared starter which rushed us slightly as well. Food was of expected good standard but service was not quite up to expectation.

Poor service with some waiters borderless rude. Waited 20min to get our table (that we had booked) and 40 more minute to get our food with a missing side. Only got drinks after our food. Garden is beautiful though. Quite a shame for The Ivy, I had had great experiences for this restaurant in other London locations.

Very, very good food. The chicken Milanese, the Malaysian fish, the truffles arancini, even the crème brûlée for the desert everything was very good, delicious. The service for diner was a bit slow though. Waited more than 20mn to be placed even though we had a reservation, and it was a bit long to be served water. Lots of noise too. The diner was so good we got back for breakfast, it was way quieter and the service was faster. But definitely a must try, the food is delicious.

Very Disappointing! Wife's 50th Birthday Celebration. 36 degrees heatwave that day. Still water bottle ordered was warm and not chilled! Requested for ice which took ages to come. Starters took ages to comes, then took ages to clear from the table. We waited " 55 mins" for our main dishes to arrived after having to remind waiting staff, which was completely unacceptable! Was then given the Bill before it was requested ! By Nothet waiter who said they had to close the area, and was not offered any compensation for the unpleasant experience. Dismal service! 2nd time now in row. Sadily I will definitely Not recommend this to anyone? Unless you don't mind waiting virtually an hour foe your food to arrive !

We were really looking forward to our visit as we were celebrating our birthdays. We booked for 7pm but didn’t get any attention until 20 past. We waited until 8.45 for our main course and finally cancelled our food as it was so late. Sergay was our waiter and did all he could to resolve the issue and refund our costs. We saw that the restaurant was very busy but that shouldn’t compromise the service. We weren’t in a hurry but would have appreciated some communication and at least some drinks to keep us going. We have an Ivy at home in Bristol so will go again but remain disappointed as this was a special time for us.

I know it was a busy Saturday night but it felt like there was a pecking order to who was served, as a table full of people behind us arrived after we did and left before we had even finished our main course. There seemed to be plentiful waitstaff but it took us an hour to receive our starters, for instance. I can’t fault the food (although we nearly took delivery of an adjacent table’s main courses before the mistake was even noticed) but the service was not as good as we’ve had before. Plus the small jazz group in the corner seemed to be battling the gently-crescendoing background music. Will return, because it’s the Ivy and why wouldn’t you, but maybe next time we will come at a quieter time of day and week. Thank you.

Went for a birthday dinner and unfortunately the service was terrible. From waiting 20 mins to even be seated at our booked table, to missing ordered items, starters and mains showing up at the same time and being asked “what do you want?” When we were trying to order drinks. Food was fine but nothing special. There are better Ivys around, would not recommend.
