The Hungry Toad opened in July 1991 and is located just blocks north of Boulder’s historic Pearl Street Mall. Since then, The Hungry Toad has been providing both traditional and creative pub food as well as bringing in classic English style draft beers as well as local craft.

The Hungry Toad’s interior, reflects the classic English pub feel yet hip in sensibilities of the surrounding Boulder area, and pays tribute to England’s storied pub past.

Our outdoor patio rests on Broadway & North with grand views of Sanitas and the surrounding foothills with sun and shade. We strive and will always strive to be Boulder’s neighborhood pub.

Food was pretty good. Beer tasty. Trivia night was a lot of fun. BUT The volume of the music was over the top and frankly, ruined my experience. I had to yell across the table, put tissues in my ears and had to leave before I wanted to. It was totally ridiculous. I can’t imagine people enjoy eating out with friends with the music so loud they need a mega phone to speak across the table. Aside from this huge issue, it’s a fun place! So I’m not going to recommend it, but would in an instant if this issue was fixed.

Server was rude. Didn’t ask if we needed anything with our coffees then acted like we were an inconvenience when asking for cream. Food came out wrong for 2/10 of our party. She then came back and was rudely asking for her credit card slips that we had already given her. Not coming back.

I was so excited to try the new menu. Unfortunately it hasn’t changed that much. I was hoping for more variety. We had a party of 5 and 4 of us had the French fries, all of us complained how mushy they were. I had the halibut fish and chips and the halibut was marvelous! I wish the French fries were as crunchy and hot as the fish. The service was fantastic and the wait staff were engaging and spot on!

Great food, staff, beer & cocktail menu and authentic pub feel. We also love watching Buff and English Premier games there on the weekend. We enjoyed the Team Trivia, which is every other Thursday.

Menu looked great. Food was just alright. We went for Boulder's version of restaurant week, so we shared and sampled quite a few things. The tomato in the Full English Breakfast was great. The beans were pretty good, bacon was fine. The toast was oddly pretty terrible, soaked in oil that did not taste like butter or olive oil but was also very hard. The salad greens were the winner of the Toad in a Hole. Our son loved his French Toast, but the Knights of Windsor (another version of French Toast w/ Captain Crunch milk) was very hard and difficult to cut and just strange. Coffee was terrible, very burnt taste. Blackberry Mimosa was delicious. We all loved the blood orange sorbet.

I ordered Fish and Chip ($22). I was offered cod or halibut. Our server said halibut is special for today but did not tell me how much additional price will be. I got one halibut and was additional $8. I think $30 fish and chip was overpriced. Taste was so so. I like their cocktails. It was delicious I recommend at The Hungry Toad for DRINK.

Server Luke was friendly and efficient. My green cocktail was crisp and enjoyable. My friend and I enjoyed the Brussels sprouts appetizer. Seeking a gluten free entrée, I selected the duck breast, and it was delicious! I was a bit disappointed that there were no gluten free desserts available … though the options did sound yummy. I hadn’t dined there for many years. The experience was enjoyable, and I expect to return!

Even though the food was excellent and beautifully prepared, I wouldn't go there for value. It was over 90 dollars for my husband and I, but to be fair we got an appetizer, two main dishes, and soda for each of us. Service was great and when we went (5:30 in the evening) it was very quiet. Very nice and they were prepared to have us there.

We were so happy that The Hungry Toad was saved by owners who have loved it as long as we have. The food was great. They have a wonderful happy hour and specials certain days of the week. The wait staff was friendly but were very busy. We waited on asking for condiments, etc for the table while our food got cold. (Maybe have condiments on tables so that waitstaff doesn't have to manage them?) Overall a great experience!

Absolutely fabulous meal and experience at the Hungry Toad for Brunch. My son loved the Burger with Swiss and the fries were amazing! We split the Tofu Scramble that comes with delicious Hash Browns. We also loved the Cold Brew Chai Drink. Beautiful restaurant and excellent and friendly service. Highly recommend!

Their new weekend Brunch is so delish! The hash brown skillet loaded with veggies topped with two perfect over easy eggs did not disappoint. And their “Bloody Good Bloody” Mary is so tasty and photo worthy! They have more tv’s now and are showing EPL soccer games weekend mornings. We’ll be regulars!

The new brunch at the Hungry Toad was amazing. The kids loved the eggy sticks which is a cool take on French toast and captain crunch all-in-one. The hashbrown skillet breakfast entrée was also very good. We love the new interior and especially the reupholstered booths. We are so happy that the Toad is back.
