   Discovering British food is a worthwhile experience in this gastro pub. I recommend it especially to foreign people, who want to debunk the myth of bad English cooking. My suggestion: eat in the upper floor, more quiet and with a warm atmosphere.

   Lovely pub near the Royal Albert Hall, really traditional which we love. The food was great, we had the steak and chips.

   Visited for our Wedding Anniversary. Booked for 6pm as we wanted it quiet. Looked after by 2 lovely young ladies who treated us to a glass of bubbly and a mixed platter with olives which was great. Food came really quickly and was delicious. I had a perfectly cooked Dover Sole and husband had duck, again perfect. Pudding were delicious brownie and I had whiskey and shortbread. Lovely evening all round

   Fantastic food and service. Definitely returning! The chef made us a special not on the menu and we were so impressed we bought him a drink. Good home cooking with attention to detail.

   My food was lovely, though to provide a balanced view my friend wasn't happy with his meal. But the kitchen and our lovely waiter removed the cost of his meal from the bill and provided fresh dishes to replace.

   Attractive pub with reasonable food except for the Spring Wellington vegetarian option which looked very mediocre and small. Also both burgers were cooked Rare (very) when only one of the two asked for this. We were the only people in the dining room on a Saturday night in central London which seemed rather strange so there was no ambience. When we asked for puddings we were told that was not possible. Rather off-hand staff who obviously didn't want to be there and were perhaps embarrassed that it was completely empty. Its a shame as it could be a real gem.

    Unfortunately, we didn't stay to eat. Booked table in upstairs dining room but all the other tables except ours were full of people drinking. It was so loud we couldn't hear ourselves or the waitress so we left. Didn't expect the place to be quiet but hoped to be able to have a conversation.
