Everything was great. The poor waiter got triple sat and he handled it great, but he was working alone and all the tables were full. Totally not his fault. Poor scheduling on a Friday night.
Surprised my fiancé with dinner here with another couple friend of ours and it’s was amazing! Great service. The food was incredible and we will definitely be back!

It's ok but little over priced for a hotel lobby restaurant. Small portions and not a fan of odd martini glasses but service was good and very nice.
Everything was awesome until they sat a table of 8-10 ladies next to us. They had been having cocktails at the bar for a while. They were very loud. Perhaps in the future the restaurant should consider isolating larger parties from the diners trying to eat and carry on a normal not se level conversation.
This was my first time dining at The Gregory. I was very impressed with the atmosphere and ambience. The wait staff were very friendly and especially accommodating. I appreciated that the menu was not very extensive, but had a great variety of dishes to choose from. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and was very honest in her recommendations (I especially appreciated that when I asked her recommendation between a $29 and a $62 entrée, she recommended the less expensive one and gave her personal reasoning--honesty is most appreciated!).
While the ambience of the restaurant was quaint but open, the tables are situated in an open atmosphere of the hotel lobby. We dined on a Sunday evening, which partially explains why it was nice and quiet for the most part. However, the hotel bar is right next to the tables, making for a rowdy scene when some of the bar customers had had a few drinks. I think this is worth noting, although I admit I did not realize the bar was in such open and close proximity to the tables.
Overall, I was pleased with the experience and would recommend The Gregory to anyone looking for a fine dining in downtown Baton Rouge!

Everything was fresh and delicious. The food is not particularly creative, but I'd guess it's better from an innovation standpoint than other upscale restaurants in town. The drinks, service, and ambiance, however, made up for any weaknesses in the food. All were exceptional. And although pricey, it was not over-priced unlike so many hotel restaurants.
We evacuated to BR from Lake Charles due to hurricane Laura. We were graciously welcomed by all and we felt like family. The food was excellent and our waiter, Ryan, quite personable. We plan to dine again before returning home.
The ribeye that I ordered was medium rare on the inside and burnt on the outside from what was ordered (well done). The waiter returned it to the kitchen for a more thorough cooking, but it was more burnt and still pink on the inside. For a $70 steak, it wasn’t done correctly and I had to absorb the total cost. I was done when it was returned to the table.
The waiter Logan was outstanding! The fish I ordered was seasoned to perfection! Our drinks were awesome as well!!
Good atmosphere and appreciated how spaced the tables were. Drink service a little slow. Salads came out quickly but entree did not come till 30 minutes after salads were finished and it was not hot. In fact, our steaks were cool to the touch. Server offered to bring back to kitchen to heat up but then they would no longer be medium rare?! Steak was tasty-it was supposed to come with sauteed spinach and steak frites. There was so little spinach that i think they just put it there for green color. There was not even a forkful. So, it was an 8 oz filet with frites for $45-not a great value. Would like to try again as there were other menu items i was interested in trying. Maybe after all the covid-19 mayhem....
This is the second time we’ve been to the Gregory and it was just as good as the first time. We were originally seated next to the kitchen where they place orders and pick up orders to bring out and it was a little bit too much. A gentleman I’m assuming was the manager asked us if the seat was okay, we told him our honest opinion and he moved us over.
The steak was PHENOMENAL. Our server was so kind and fun. Definitely one of our favorite top notch spots.
We celebrated our anniversary at The Gregory and the experience was amazing. The food and drinks were exceptional. We also received a complimentary dessert. Our server was professional and friendly. The live music added a great touch to the ambience.

Online we booked The Gregory for Brunch. The Gregory was closed to the public. The Watermark must update All of thier ad platforms. We booked a room online and agreed to a parking fee, a TV with all options open and a king sized bed in our room. They gave us a room with 2 queen beds first. The parking fees were higher than posted online. The TV worked, but options on the remote were blocked. We had to scroll through all channels to see what they were. My birthday stay could have been much better. My girlfriend being there made it great!
Hopefully our next visit will be better, but unfortunately the first did not make a great impression. As we were seated, we noticed one of the wait staff playing "slap hands" with the guests at another table, which is extremely unprofessional & unsanitary. After she greeted us & brought water, we waited about 10 minutes before we had to find another server to take our drink & appetizer orders. Our server promptly came back & apologized for the wait, saying she had "sh*t to do in the back" before correcting herself by saying "stuff to do". Also extremely unprofessional. Our first round of drinks & an order of oysters were comped by the manager, which was unexpected & appreciated. The food was all very good with the exception of our filet mignon. It had so much salt on the outside that we had to cut around the sides to avoid eating it. Our server also continuously kept playing "slap hands" with another table the entire time we were there. We may try again another time.

This was our third trip and best one to date. We had a great time and the staff was amazing.
Lovely meal with great service. The filet and pork chop were cooked perfectly. The bisque and corn hogs were also delicious
The service was great as was the food. We were seated in the "vault" room (the Gregory is in the lobby of an old bank) which worked out well. There was live music in the main area which made it a little difficult to talk over the music - the volume was just right in the smaller room.
This was our first time trying The Gregory in Baton Rouge (my girlfriend and I). Food was okay when accounting for the prices. We were very disappointed with the service we were given. Our waiter’s name was Logan, and he was very rude to us. Multiple times he walked away mid sentence, and hardly ever checked up on us. There were only 3 other tables, so we were extremely displeased with the lack of attention we received. He took our left overs to the back to be packaged, brought us our check, and never saw our left overs after that. After waiting 10 minutes for Logan to appear, we finally gave up, and left without the leftovers.
The meal took a really long time. Our reservations were at 8, and we did not leave until 10:30. I don't know if the kitchen was short staffed or not. However, the food was very good, and we did enjoy our (late) evening out.
We loved The Gregory! Good food, great ambiance, and amazing service! Kelly, our waitress, was awesome. I think her name was Kelly, if I remember correctly. We will be back for sure!
Great dinner. Loved our server and that the cocktail list is so extensive. Love the oysters! It is a great date spot and love the free valet!

Our wedding anniversary fell on Memorial Day and we wanted to go out to dinner for our first time since the Pandemic closed everything down. Luckily The Gregory was open and we ended up the only table for a bit. We were spoiled with a complimentary glass of champagne! Along with really good food, service was great and I felt safe, The Gregory staff all wore gloves and masks. Thank you helping us celebrate another year together!
Stopped here on our way to Pensacola and glad we did. We both had the Express Lunch which included a number of Cajun-style foods. Their gumbo was outstanding. The wife had the tomato andouille bisque... also very good.
Our server, Taylor, was very attentive and a good sport. We joked that she mumbled a lot and was hard to understand, but she had to wear the mask! Somehow, we managed.
The restaurant is in the main lobby of a hotel, an old bank building converted. Very nice. We’ll stay here someday now that we know about it.

Service is always good but too often the host(ess) is not available to ck in for the reservation. Saturday we had to flag the bartender to get someone to seat us.
I do not understand a fine dining restaurant that does not have tablecloths or even a placemat. Plates slide cutting steak entrees and water glasses leave puddles of condensation that runs off the table.
We like supporting downtown BR restaurants but these irritations usually leads to a discussion about options other than The Gregory.

While staying at the Watermark for my birthday, I decided to dine at The Gregory. I must say I made a great choice. The food was seasoned very well and my pork chop was cooked to perfection. Also, the staff was exceptional. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
