So glad to see that The Greek Oven is finding success! I love this restaurant and it's even better knowing that the owners are part of our local Maui community.
Great food! Nice new place for North Shore of Maui
Great food and really good service. Will definitely be back to try more things on the menu. No liquor license, so bring your own. Beautiful food and Beautiful staff! Thanks again!
Delicious, fresh, quality food! A great spot for an intimate dinner or gathering with friends.
The food was absolutely amazing. Tasty, well-prepared and attractively served. The only issue I had was the noise level. Energetic is kind. It was downright noisy. There was music playing, so people were speaking louder to be heard. But the food was terrific.
Lovely conversations with the owner and service staff. Thoughtful vegetarian and omnivore options. Authentic Greek cuisine with scrumptious touches such as homegrown Greek oregano! Gyros served with roasted potatoes; very tasty.
Very delicious! Superior customer service. You are definitely made welcome. One of my favorite places to eat for sure!
My experience at the Greek oven was priceless. Everything was pleasant and efficient. Delicious food, friendly staff, the super nice setting, I felt like in a bistrô in Greece or somewhere in Europe. Fine dinning without the stiffness of a fancy restaurante. Very casual and elegant at the same time. I recommend the Mousaka and the authentic lamb Gyro. But there are so many incredible options I can’t wait to go back.
I really wish I could give the Greek Oven a 5-star for food. They came close, but not quite.
The staff and the owner are very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed their open and welcoming attitude. The food was quite good, and the owner really is Greek, but not Zorba, more like Boss (the Narrator). The waitress is Swiss, but spent summers in Greece--very kind, perhaps even sweet.
Started with a rustic tomato based soup that was excellent and spiced perfectly and came with a toast melted with exotic cheese and a creamy filling that was truly outstanding. The fig/spinach salad with fig slices and big, generous shavings of a parmesan-like cheese which was delicious and managed to convert a non-believer into a fig lover.
The moussaka was very tasty and nicely spiced, but the béchamel was too loose. I would have preferred more eggplant in the base. The flavor was quite good though.
The Crushed Potatoes were nicely spiced, but the spinach/mushroom bed should have been more lavish. I was expecting the potatoes to be more coarsely crushed, but they were close to mashed potatoes. Accented with green olives and delicious. The lamb was very flavorfully marinated and similar to pulled pork in texture, but all lamb--delicious. Don’t forget to ask the Greek olive oil in the tin to drizzle.
But seriously, the true gem of the evening was the dessert. I know for some folks that’s always the star. Obviously, Baklava and other Greek desserts, but Apple Pie? I had to try that…how Greek is that? Apparently, very Greek. The recipe was from Boss’s mom and unique. The filling was a ball of shredded apple and cinnamon in a cocoon of crust that was not your typical crust, but somewhere between cake and cookie dusted with plenty of cinnamon and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The combination is great, but the texture of the crust stole the show. Melt in your mouth flakiness. I have never had anything quite like it. The only downside is I may never try the baklava.
Well done Boss!
We had been meaning to try this new restaurant for awhile, and it far exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was quaint and charming, the food was fresh and full of flavor, and the staff was attentive. As vegans (and one of us also gluten-free), there were plenty of delicious options that didn't require modifying the menu. The BYOB option was a bonus. We can't wait to go back!
I love this place! Owner operated, they pick the freshest ingredients and thy cook with love. I highly recommend for breakfast lunch or dinner in the weekends. They also do catering .
