The Granary Square Brasserie
The brasserie buzz through breakfast, morning coffee, lunch and cream teas in the afternoon. Throughout the day the lounge area will be perfect to relax with a drink or for informal meetings with luxurious vintage leather chairs and low brass tables. As the sun sets and we get ready for dinner, the DJ set will begin, and cocktails will flow.
The restaurant is beautiful with cut glass pendant lights, banquettes upholstered in silk and velvet and exotic kilim rugs. The striking central bar, located in the heart of the room, is perfect to survey the scene and enjoy an aperitif cocktail.
Excellent food and service been here several times and always been good
Gorgeous ambience, delicious food and drinks. Service slightly slow but acceptable.
Birthday dinner celebration, loved the Duck salad starter & roasted salmon fillet. Chicken milanese & blackened cod fillet was also enjoyed by others in our party!
Delicious food from a tried and tested menu, lovely decor and friendly and helpful service. I booked a table for 11 and was given a separate room which was perfect. Fantastic.
The Brasserie on a Saturday seems to completely full all the time, but the tables are well spaced and the atmosphere is great. We were a party of 9 and lucky enough to enjoy a dining space just off the main restaurant. It isn't completely shut away from the main restaurant, but it was less buzzy and so we were all able to chat easily. Just as well, since this was a reunion get-together with lots of catching up to do. (You can request this dining space when you book). We all enjoyed the food. Many started with the prawn cocktail, which is generous and very tasty. All main course were delicious: steak, open sandwiches, fish and chips were all enjoyed. Service was excellent throughout; the staff are friendly and do all they can to help. We never felt rushed during our lunch. We will definitely be going back.
My first time out in Granary Square, what a great place and what a great restaurant to compliment the area.. early dinner for two plenty of time to choose food and chat , all staff were exemplary ... wine list was extensive, the tempranillo delicious as was the food for both of us that followed... steak tartar and fish cake a must... well done , will definitely be returning...
We can highly recommend The Granary if you want good food at reasonable prices and just the right level of attention from the staff
I went with a friend , we had a lovely lunch that lasted nearly two hours we weren’t rushed even though all tables were occupied , the service was attentive without being overboard or interruptive , the food was lovely overall I would definitely recommend and will be back
Thanks for a great experience, my managers were very impressed and the staff was super helpful!
Excellent food in a beautiful and ambient setting.
One of my favourite places in London!!!
The best pumpkin soup I have ever eaten!!!!
We really enjoyed our evening, despite the food & service being just OK and the noise level being ‘nightclub’.
We probably won’t go on a Saturday night again. Way too noisy for our aging ears, the service couldn’t really cope and too many dishes weren’t anywhere near as good as I know they can produce.
Food and service never disappoints! AlwYs a great night out!
Good location which probably comes into its own in warmer times...good atmosphere but not conducive to
One on one conversation. Reasonably priced wine list with good selection
The burger bun was stale and fell apart when trying to pick it up and the curry didn’t have much taste at all. You have a huge range of beers but no waiters held any knowledge of them nor did they know what a wheat beer is. Impossible to tell what was prawn and what was squid because the texture and look was all the same. Very disappointing overpriced food and service.
Would more than recommend this restaurant. But my only issues was had booked a high chair for our young grandson Not at table when we arrived. I had to ask 3 different members of staff for this to be dealt with. And the last member of staff was the only one to apologise that the highchair had not been then our arrival. And the meal was excellent.
Poor service. Did not get served until I asked. And no attention was paid to me at all.
The restaurant is lovely but the quality of the food for some reason was very poor. My steak was off (it smelt high) and my wife's steak sandwich was very bland. The service was very attentive and the steak was taken off the bill but unfortunately it did have a bearing on our view of the place. Bit disappointed if I'm honest.
It was very busy and we were glad we booked a table in advance. Great food and drinks. Great service, and our waitress was funny and friendly. Only problem was that we felt like we were rushed out and it would've been nice if we were told in advance about the table turnaround.
Kings Cross is now a very acceptable place to visit and The Granary really fits the bill
Good service and excellent food, definitely a place to visit again
It's a nice place to have a drink and small food but it's far too expensive. The food was OK but nothing special and the drinks were dear even for London prices. The staff were ok but quite grumpy when asked for recommendations.
Beautiful restaurant, that wasn't too hectic considering it was on a Friday evening. The food was good. However, the handling of dietary requirements was a bit odd. I was told to just select what I wanted and then they'd tell me if it was ok. This just made for quite a faff and really highlighted the fact you had an allergy. Giving allergen information up front would be much better.
I have a baby and was very surprised how attentive and accommodating the staff was. The food was good too but found iyhe music was a bit too loud.
Excellent food and service. We had the Karajan curries - duck and veg - and both were excellent. Service impeccable and very quick.
Great venue at the back of Kings Cross, with elegant ambiance and excellent service.
The food was brilliant, really loved it. But the service was slow and the place was rather noisy that I couldn’t hear my friends but overall I highly recommend!
Great interior providing a lovely ambiance. Service charming and food excellent.
Lovely afternoon catch up with friends at the Granary Square Brasserie.
Great venue for catching up with friends, service and food were great, would highly recommend a visit.
The concept of the Granary is lovely, and the location and decor is great. However the music is the volume of a bar not a restaurant and when I asked if it could be turned down, I was told it wasn’t possible but that I wasn’t the only one who’d asked! Even the waiter commented that it made it difficult for them to hear! Meant leaning in and still having to shout across the table and day pardon half the night. Food was middling for the price. We had to send one meal back which they did comp, along with one of the drinks, but wasn’t just sorted, had to wait for the manager to come over.
The venue was beautiful, the food was fab and the service was great.
Can not recommend enough.
We enjoyed a nice 2 meal dinner but we could not make good conversation because of the noise. Very crowded and tables near to each other. But, foodwise, absolutely worth while. One take-away; because of lacking light we had to use our phone to read the menu :-)
Yet another fantastic time with superb food and excellent staff
This lovely bistro ought to be better than it actually is. No one greeted us for 10 minutes after being seated. Drinks arrived after the main course. Shepherds pie was cold. Veggies arrived when we were nearly done with the meal. Curry was lukewarm. Rice was under-done and crunchy. The experience was not worth the price, and though it’s an elegant setting with a well-meaning staff, my first impression won’t lead to another visit.
An elegant establishment, simply oozing with good taste. The beautiful botanical prints were a particular delight. Food was lovely, the sourdough bread was simply heavenly and the alcohol free spritzers were a revelation. What I liked best was that I couldn’t hear any annoying music so we could actually hear each other speak. From booking to collecting coats at the end of the brunch - a most enjoyable experience
It was such an amazing experience and I could show my friend what a true English Shepard’s Pie tastes like. I would definitely recommend this place and come back here again
Had a wonderful lunch experience for my birthday....I was even presented with a cute birthday cake from the restaurant at the end of my meal which was a lovely surprise. Fantastic waiter service... will definitely return!
Staff are very friendly and the food is great quality. A great option in the heart of Kings Cross.
Easy to get to, friendly staff, great food and drink. In an interesting location.
