William Bent's Grilled Quail
Quail roamed the prairies in the 1840's and was a favorite food of American Indians and fur trappers! Two teriyaki marinated quail served with wild Montana huckleberry preserves, seasonal vegetables, and Fort potatoes
Wonderful food. Staff was kind and attentive. History is interesting to learn of.
Great service, fabulous desserts, quail egg appetizer unique and delicious
We visited for my sister's birthday. This was a return visit for our family. We love it here! The cocktails out on the patio were fabulous, and then we enjoyed appetizers - hunter's sample platter and stuffed mushrooms Yum! My mom and sister each had one of the specials - T-bone and Buffalo Prime Rib - Outstanding. I eat one thing when I come to the Fort...RIBS! Sooo good.
It's always a good time going to the Fort. Father's Day 2021 was no exception. Will be back!
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Great place to see Colorado history.
A little pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Lovely place and exceptional service. Welcoming to children, which was nice for a family event.
The Fort is one of our go to favorites for special occasions. It always delivers👍 Can’t wait for our next visit. Loved hearing about the history of Bent’s Fort from a docent as we walked in.
Took my dad for father's day. The bison prime rib was insane. So tender and perfect at medium rare.
Doug was the nicest server! Food quality is amazing!
Great for a special night out!! The patio space is so cool and has a great view. We loved the unique drinks and food options.
We've eaten at this restaurant several times in the past and had fantastic experiences, however that was not the case on this particular visit. We did have a large group of 10, and the restaurant was very busy. Our food was not prepared to order (steaks ordered at medium were cooked to rare and well done) and when served was only lukewarm, including the coffee. Our waiter was clearly working a large number of tables as well as service was off. We're hopeful this was just a one time disappointment and will try again in the future.
Manager Told us we couldn’t use the gift card towards the tip, that was stupid. The restaurant was very crowded, tables were bumped right up to each other. Server was good, food was good, portions were good. Ambiance, especially for a nice restaurant was loud, crowded and rushed.
Service was great. The food was overpriced and a little disappointing - two of us ordered the same thing and the sizes of the meat portions were very inconsistent.
Always a great place for Bison, Elk, and quail as well as other great meals!!
We loved the food and service including the flute player. The only complaint is that the chairs were very hard and uncomfortable. A little cushion would be a great improvement.
We always enjoy going to The Fort, and last night (to celebrate Father's Day) was no exception. The employees obviously want the diners to have the best experience possible. The food is always top-notch, and the atmosphere is so relaxing and fun. I have been going since I was a kid, and now take my teenagers. So nice to walk around outside after dinner and enjoy the glorious view!
Server was really good. The steak was excellent. We never had eaten there before. I didn't understand the ambience before we came in as we were celebrating our 24th anniversary. The atmosphere was extremely loud for myself. I would likely choose something quieter n a bit more elegant next time. Anyway, one needs to experience The Fort at least once.
Poor service, overpriced food and a long wait don't waste your time or money.
Delicious food and a lovely setting. A place for a special celebratory meal with friends or family.
The food was great. Our server was really nice but the food did come out slowly. We were there 2 1/2 hrs- not by choice..
Enjoyed the experience.
Food and drinks were good except the gravy on mashed potatoes was way over seasoned with cayenne. All other food was top notch tho, was served a dirty water glass with lipstick on it. Date night out for husband’s birthday but seated in family section with loud screaming kids while other sections with 2 person tables were open. Waiter was very nice but suffered extreme body odor, made it difficult to interact with. It was an experience but likely to never return.
We were put at a table that was broken and kept rocking every time we picked up our drinks. The food was burnt and we were the only non white people in the restaurant. When we walked in everybody looked and stared. I would not recommend this spot to anybody. It is supposed to be a "native American" spot, but all I saw were Caucasians. Not a spot that i will ever go to again.
We have been going to the fort for 50 years or so, and the food and service are always teriffic. Tonight was no exception; we celebrated our 51st Wedding Anniversary and it was a great dinner, with teriffic service. The weather was nice too; we had dessert on the patio and watched the sunset. Magical.
The Fort always has fabulous food and fantastic service. We celebrated my sister’s birthday. Our wait person Marisa and Austin were very attentive and sweet.
A Denver icon for almost 60 years, The Fort should be on everyone's bucket list! Fantastic food, stellar service, and astonishing ambience.
I’m from Chicago so it was great to order the game plate and sample a variety of meat (Buffalo, elk, & Quail). Our waitress also helped us order additional items that allowed us to sample BBQ Buffalo Ribs, Buffalo Marrow appetizer and room for dessert. The plates were moderately portioned, but I was stuffed. The view is amazing to finish a drink outside.
We have dined at The Fort many times. This time the food excellent as usual, but our server was rather aloof, and we waited a very long time between the salad course and the entrée. It was somewhat disappointing as we had brought out of town family members for a special dinner and it was not that impressive from the service standpoint. The overall experience is quite variable depending on the wait staff you happen to get.
We were first timers to The Fort experience and we had a fun time. The views off their patio are awesome and the live music being played sent out a wonderful vibe. Our lovely waitress Ruth was amazing and very helpful in cluing us in with great menu ideas anywhere from the drinks to the appetizers then into dinner and lastly, with desserts. We all experienced good food but everything is quite expensive and we just wouldn't say that it's completely worth all the money. Needless to say, we are glad we experienced The Fort!
Had been 20 years since my last visit. Excellent meal and service. Very good selection of wild game meats. Great ambiance. Excellent service and appreciated the wine recommendation. Look forward to returning soon.
Food, Service, and Ambiance was great. Orders were cooked to order perfectly. A lot of food, we left stuffed! A bit pricey, but was expected given the occasion.
Loved the food and service. They let us take our time between courses snd didn’t ‘rush’ us. Will definitely be back again soon
Had a great evening dining at the Fort! Love the food and service was great. Thanks Ian and Jake for taking great care of us.
My husband and me love dinning at The Fort, we save the experience for special occasions. The food, service and ambiance are always perfect. We enjoy sitting on the patio after dinner for an after dinner cocktail. The view is spectacular.
We stop at the fort every time we go on a road trip! You should too!!! Unique! Fun! Delicious!
I love the Fort generally speaking. This last trip was very disappointing... I hope they can turn things around.
we had an awesome at our pre-wedding celebration for 8 people. our out of town guests were all very impressed. The service was the best!
Great experience. Everything was perfect: great service, great food, great ambiance. Always our choice for that special dining experience, or to bring visitors.
The Fort never fails. From fantastic food and drinks to the overall theme of the Wild West, this is an experience you will not forget! Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the Denver Metro area.
A truly memorable evening thanks to our server, Caitlin and her partner Brinkley. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
